MotoGP Announcers ... love fest with Marquez even when he crashes?

Anyone who rides road bikes and wears a leather that is not Alpinestars nor Dainese...shouldn't ride road bikes :D

Careful, you’re starting to sound a lot like the Valeban... ;)

I have had Dainese leathers in the past, quite lovely. I don’t like the fit or design of most A* suits. My current main suit is by IXS, small Swiss family owned company that gives me titanium elbow and shoulder sliders for a price point where Dainese doesn’t even have elbow sliders. I have also tried excellent suits from Revit although I have never owned it.

Anyway, some brokeass guy wearing a $200 Joe Rocket suit still gets more respect from me than the fucktards who ride around in t shirts and flip flops.

Just kidding dude. I actually used to sell custom-hand-made leathers realized by some friends of mine :D

But if we tie the competition to Dainese and Alpinestars, for me there's no question. I'd pick Alpinestars any day.

I think that folk that ride in t shirts and flip flops are legends. Cannae beat a game of "Let's see how far I can spread myself along the bypass".
Just remember, you can't get skingrafts if you've no skin left to graft, thus saving the NHS thousands.

Years ago in an emergency room a doctor said to me, the guys who ride around in flip flops and no helmets.... we call 'em "organ donors".

In this day and age, when it doesn't need to be leathers but textiles with air vents or reinforced jeans, it amazes me folk still think shorts are acceptable.
No gloves, no jacket, shorts and a helmet on.
Yeah that's going to help.

Dude,
YouTube is full of “Vloggers” who can afford five GoPros and a couple of drones but are too cheap for even a mesh jacket. And these idiots pass expert knowledge to their thousands of followers...

The testing slide times on a lot of the modern riding jeans and shirts are up there with leathers.
I think it was one of the main honchos at Bell who said 'Dress for the crash, not the ride.'

All the gear. All the time.
No exceptions.

Non riders ask me if it’s comfortable to put all that kit on.
I tell them if I wanted comfort, i’d Call for a limo cab.

Marquez, crash or win ... crash! I just wish the commentators would stop pretending that Marquez has learned something over the years, he hasn't. Not a thing.

Crash or win ... he almost did the same thing in Valencia last year and tossed away his championship to Dovi. I've never seen such an idiotic rider with zero common sense.

Doesn't change the facts, Marquez crashed and we had to waste two laps with a view of his ... racing for 17th ... how exciting!! Jorge might have liked the view of his ..., but I was more interested in what was going on up front in spots 1-6 ... you know, with the riders that actually had enough talent to stay ON their bikes.

Rossi was no where near as aggressive as Marquez, and Jorge won plenty of championships without crashing everyone out and being stupid aggressive like Marquez. I understand it's hard for you Marquez thumpers to accept the limitations of Marquez's intellectual power, but how many riders in the MotoGP paddock have said they want to be just like Marquez, vs. those that have said they want to be just like Rossi???

No takers? That would be 0 for Marquez and about 15 for Rossi (riders that have publicly stated as much).

So how much has Marquez given back to MotoGP??

Rossi has established a VR Rider's academy, invites most of the paddock to his motorcycle training ranch, owns Sky Racing Team for Moto3 and Moto2 ... and what has Marquez done? Sold poster of "I'm the greatest" do those silly victory dances (what a boy, grow up)?

And lets face it, Rossi's current lady friend is something the little boy Marquez can only dream about:

But there again, I guess most of you Marquez fanatics don't want to see him with a girl.

Cheers, Rob.

Marquez is so good,, he won the title with 3 dnf’s last year and is leading the championship with 2 non scoring races out of 6 races this year. Rossi is a points cruiser , he lets the racers go and is gifted podiums when the real racers crash actually racing. By the way your math sucks. If Rossi hadn’t crashed at Argentina, Marquez would have not been penalized and scored more points that day as well. Now about yesterday, that was dumb mistake, he threw away 20 points because his balls are bigger than his brain ,which is not saying he has a small brain. As far as the announcers, think about how boring his series would really be without Marquez . Just about everything exciting or controversial has his name attached to it. He has taken the roll of Rossi’s villian and ran with it to the tune of 4 going on five titles and a 15 million dollar a year salary. Seems he is doing ok to me while old Vale cruises around hoping for podiums all the while bitching and moaning about how mean Marc is and how ...... his bike is. Must be an Italian thing, now we have the the human battering ram whining that Marc should have been penalized.

While the Rossi fans may not like it. In Rossi's 3 podiums he benefitted off Zarco having a tyre failure in Qatar, Dovi and Zarco uncharacteristic crashing out in France and Marc getting too excited in Italy.
While it's important to stay on he hasn't yet had the outright pace to be on the podium without others making mistakes or having failures out of their control.

Also agree with the irony of Petrucci complaining about others stuffing it up the inside of him. If you look at that pass it's certainly no different from moves we see almost every race in the first few corners where all riders are going for the same price of the track. It's just that it involved Marquez that it is for some reason a big deal.

Hell, he was gifted a 5th at Jerez when Dovi, Jorge and Dani had their little get together.

Like many of your ilk, argumentum ad hominem seems to be your first resort, although in your case you are at least diversifying from argumentum ad verecundiam.

Dislike MM all you like, the chagrin of Rossi fans is always enjoyable, but your fundamental premise on this thread ie that the defending world champion, winner of 4 of the last 5 titles, and championship leader gets undue media coverage, particularly in comparison to your boy, a rider who hasn’t won the title for 9 seasons, is ridiculous. I would also strongly suspect most riders would like to be winning races frequently like MM rather than cruising around in 4th or 5th like Rossi.

Ah welcome to the internet, how to take what was NOT said and turn it into something completely different ... so by your OWN logic, since Rossi has 9 titles and Marquez only 4, they should be covering Rossi 24/7?

The facts - Marquez crashed and there was a good battle going on for 1-6 position, but we get to see Marquez hobble around in 17th because he won 4 championships? Why? Does anyone care about someone that crashed and in last place? Marquez has a very small fan following but I guess with all that Yellow smoke around the circuit it would be hard to find any Marquez fans in Italy. Hell, even in the many Spain races, there is still more Yellow fan following.

I see you've avoided the other questions?

Zarco has more talent the Marquez ... but given Vinales can't make the Yamaha work in hot weather, Zarco can't make it work in hot weather and Rossi managed to somehow come out 3rd in a "Ducati" track under high heat is pretty impressive ... doing it at 39 years old (a full 14 years older than Marquez), and being 6 ft tall (a big handicap for MotoGP, especially top speed) and Marquez tiny at 5'5", Rossi being 148 lbs and Marquez 130 lbs so Marquez has 18 lb advantage (heck 18 lbs reward weight in my race car made a significant difference in lap times towards end of my races and that's 1700 lb race car) ... yeah I'd say that's A LOT more impressive than Marquez crashing out.

But, point being I wanted to watch the battle for 1 thru 6 because it was close until Jorge established a good gap then it was a battle for 2-6. Don't care how many championships anyone has, I want to watch those racing for position, not Marquez's ... in 17th.
