Breaking news folks! > https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/joan-mir-pre-contract-honda-pedrosa-puig-1039922/
Who in Moto2 has potential for second Repsol ride?
Bagnaia is a VR46 contracted rider - he's out.
Oliviera to KTM - he's out.
Junior Marquez - an option.
Joan Mir? Maybe needs another season in Moto2.
Brad Binder - an option.
Pasini?
Of these riders I rate in order
Oliviera
Mir
Bagnaia
Marquez
Binder
Pasini.
Just a hunch. I don't think any rider associated with vr46 would be considered by HRC. Not because of Marc, but because of flopsy himself going back to 2003.

Yep, I hear you, fella. Marc is still very young himself (25 I think). If he was in his early 30s it would make more sense.I honestly thought HRC wouldn't put a potentially new phenom next to Marc, but I'm glad I was wrong. As much as I love Dani, he's had his time at HRC.

I feel for Dani, I really do, but if Rins is the young up and comer on the Suzuki, I would love to see Dani have a season on it. Nothing against Iannone, I just want to see Dani on the Zook.

This makes perfect sense also marketing wise with Repsol (a Spanish company) mainly wanting Spanish riders in "their" team.
Agree. Dani gets a lot of flak but we must not forget he's still a 3x World Champ and he has won at least one race in every single season he's competed in MotoGP. Big champions like Rossi, Lorenzo or Stoner haven't achieved that. Yes, he had his ... on a really good bike for a really long time but still.
As per the Suzuki I agree too, but as I stated the other day the competition for that seat seems huge.
Could be good if it happens, an inter team rivalry certainly makes things interesting and adds to the atmosphere.
I doubt if Marc would be bothered, but would be interesting to see what Alzamora and Daddy Marquez with a girl's name would do if Mir starts racing MM hard.
I reckon Marc would start being more aggressive with overtaking if he starts being beaten by a teammate on a regular basis, all depends on how good Mir is on a new bike.
Dovi pushed him all last season so there are riders out there who will, trouble is not only is Marquez an incredible talent but the Honda is probably the best bike right now. If Yamaha manage to get on terms there's a couple of riders there who can compete with him.
