Michelin® Australian Motorcycle GP 2016 Nicky Hayden extravaganza with spoilers

" Hmmmmm, Australia. Not too close to the US. I got the ride at pretty short notice. Surely not enough time for that dude to show up at the track. Hopefully some peace and quiet at this round. No more sign this boom box, sign my chest, stand next to me Nicky so we can have a photo with our wrists in the air comparing our matching Tissot watches "

Nicky contemplating the upcoming race.......and jum

Well well well, look who Nicky dragged out of the shadows.

Rich cumming from the guy who turned into a teengirl boyband cheerleader at the first sight of Scotty Redding and Hector "he's got wonderful eyes" Barbara, then went into groupie meltdown when that bloke from Storage Wars showed up. Jesus, for a moment I actually feared for that Storage Wars dude's safety.

Nicky's impact is just spilling like sunshine all over the place.

If you live in a glass house, don't throw rocks.

You got me there brother

Just watched the press interview. Cant help but laugh when listening to Jack with his regular Aussie accent compared to the Spanglish he speaks in the eurpean rounds.

So far, so good for Mad Mike.

Familiar track and so far doing well ............... keep it up

FP1 wet weather with Jack Miller 4th Fastest. Mike Jones 14th fastest, big improvement from Motegi. Lorenzo is struggling with the wet tyres again, he is up the back of the grid. Hayden is doing well with 10th fastest too so i would imagine he improves, he is quite good at PI.

What is that hayseed doing on a Repsol Honda? They couldn't find better rider than that?
Money. He sells bikes. He is not too shabby, though. He is tenth on a unknown bike, on unknown tires, in the rain. And there is Crashilow top, again. We will see how long that goes on.

Lorenzo was 4.6 seconds off the pace. Even Mike Jones who has never ridden on the wet Michelins was faster. Lorenzo is struggling with mental issues in the wet.

It's not "he can't get heat in the wet tires" because there isn't a single rider on the grid that could get the necessary heat into the tires going as slow as Lorenzo was. Lucky for him, it should be dry Sat & Sun.

Lorenzo really struggles with the wet front tyre, he has struggled with it all season. Sunday looks to be dry so I'm sure he will improve and do well in the race.

I think Hayden will do well, he rode Jacks bike in Aragon which is the same bike so he will get better especially with a factory team behind him.

You think Lorenzo was the only rider on the grid that may have received some uneasy feedback from the front or rear tire? Every other rider works hard to continue to push to better understand the issue and how they can ride around it to get heat into the tire. IMO, once again, Lorenzo isn't trying.

I agree that Lorenzo does have mental issues with the wet. It goes back before this year. The Michelins just make it worse. He is limping around the pits, so that isn't going to help him testing front tire grip, at all. I feel for the guy. He is too good to go through this nonsense. He needs a shrink. I will be is Uccio for a room in his glass den and a toss-off babe, or two.

Jack's bike does not have the seamless gearbox (supposedly) or some other componentry that is specific to the full factory bikes so in essence, he is on a far better machine, at a track he is good at so I fully suspect that he will be top 10 to be honest and depending on circumstances, top 7 (his fitness etc will be fine).

Either way, he WILL provide Honda with better return than did Aoyama at Motegi

I see your purpose now. You serve "the balance", and hence all the nonsensical posts are motivated by a yearning for balance, as a consequence of which you feel impelled to provide Lorenzo hate on this "Rossi haters" forum.

Perhaps you should now proceed to post some Rossi hate on all the other forums.

You didn't even watch FP1 did you? If you had, you would've seen Lorenzo cruising around like he was on a parade lap. The commentators even said they can't sugarcoat it anymore... Lorenzo has mental problems in the wet. You can call it nonsense or Lorenzo hate all you want, it is what it is.

Well obviously Lorenzo struggles more with it than other riders, I wouldn't crucify him for that??

I wouldn't suggest he isn't trying, he is an ultra competitive world champion of course he is trying. I doubt he is happy about the situation of being up the back of the grid. He just isn't as comfortable as the other riders are with pushing it and doesn't want to risk a fall or an injury. If it clears up on Sunday like it is forecast too having a great wet setup will really only benefit the guys in qualifying grid positions.

After the Assen GP, I said that Lorenzo isn't learning anything while he cruises around on the wets at such a slow pace. Even riders that push harder and crash are at least learning how to ride on the Michelin wets.

Hayden and Jones both had ZERO experience on the wet Michelins, but they went out on track and put forth more effort than the ultra competitive "dry race only" world champion Mr. Jorge Lorenzo.

He'll be fine if the race is dry because he doesn't have any mental blockage when the track is dry.

It's kind of sad how all the Boppers leap at any opportunity to bash on Lorenzo (and Stoner before him) as being "Mentally Weak," etc.

Funny, a real person, with real fears, anxieties, and personality 'glitches' has managed to beat your GOAT as often as not. That makes JL's titles even more impressive, no? The glory-whoring fanbois would no doubt disagree, but real racing fans, and real-world people who realize that no one is perfect, just might see things differently.
