Its a real sad sight watching Melandri riding that thing, he's bouncing up and down.
Then you have stoner winning the race to add insult.

Melandri's inability to get on with the ducati outlines the brilliance of other riders.

Rossi's ability to make the crowd love him yes is great in a way but lets face it all the merchanidised yellow .... he churns out every year only serves to line his own pockets and unless he has set up his own race academy in a philanthopist type of way i don't see how a sea of yellow is of any benefit to the sport. The genius of it is that people wear this yellow crap and are quite happy walking around looking like <span style="color:#FFFF00yellow bananas, how else would you get grown men to wear yellow on mass. Not only that but the piece de resistance will be when he announces the fact that he is gay and the last laugh will be on the homophobic fans who bought the merchandise. (I am joking before someone stabs me...........or am I?)

Touche .....! Is that all you can come up with, you whinging little girl. Say something about Rossi's "fans", not his true ones by the way, only the one who have jumped on the bandwagon, who will all leave the sport when he's gone, and you start crying like a 2 year old who wants his bottle.
Your BIAS and hatred of all things Australian stands out far more than anything I've ever said.
What's it to you what races I've been to? It's pretty easy to get to races when you live in Europe, not so easy if you live in Australia and can't afford to fly around the world every other week. Go crawl back to your cot and have another cry.

It's Casey that does the cryin, not Rog.

"Oh no, he looked at my line shoot him somebody!"

Rog doesnt hate Aussies, he sees folk that only appear when their man is winning as easy targets.

Do you bother reading his posts? Still, i'd like someone to show me when Stoner was crying? No? Can't do it? OK then. Thanks for the comment.

Oh, Roger has a friend. Isn't that sweet. Having a little cuddle fest are we? Little bit of moral support? Just like little Rog and his little friend Curve over on the other thread about invading Donnington, where yet again we see Roger's hatred of Stoner. Rog and his funny little friend who likes to put up funny little pictures just like he does when he goes to preschool. Can I have a crayon as well? We can draw pictures together.

So, not only do you deny that Casey throws the toys out of the pram when things arent going his way, now you appear to be argueing with yourself.....................

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (jazkat @ Jun 23 2008, 04:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>i kind of agree with you and also gave credit to stoner's perfect performance all weekend.... its good to see other riders winning makes for a closer championship.

i believe they fixed stoner's problems when they tested at catalunya, stoner said they have a new electronics system and that ties in with that weekend, im guessing the electronic system there using now is from the gp9 because they also said that when they used the 08 settings on the gp9 they were instantly faster.

it makes sense why struggle to setup the bike when the gp9 worked straight away for them....i guess on day 2 stoner was testing the newer electronics system from the gp9
I agree with ya.
In the past when we,the public got to know a change in a team/rider changing team ,it had already been decided some time prior to that by contract.
Yes Melandri has been much slower than Stoner all year but I 'm not sure he used to be 3!!seconds per lap, slower than Stoner. As even Suppo has said it's not only the bike ,in some interview. No one in the field is that slow. They are all great riders, the top 18 in the world.
So ,it has got to be motivation.

Just me guessing:
Melandri realised he is not going to fullfill his contract by being top 9 or something before the summerbrake,so Ducati had the right by contract to bring in another rider to try out.
That rider could ofcourse give input that helps developement but,Sete hasn't raced for a very long
time and maybe hasn't so much to compare good or bad things with on the bike as the other testriders.
They try new things and compare them all the time.
I think they let Gibernau try it mainly to see if he was fast/comfortable enough. To solve the problem for another year at least and sign him as a replacement for Melandri.
Maybe they think they should go back to having an experienced rider who is very good at developing.
The first one they asked was Bayliss, officially,so they must be looking for a short term solution.
I hope it turns out in the best way because i have been a fan of Ducati in MotoGP since they joined!
I hope Melandri gets a ride too.

YA know what is wrong with others coming from a different country and kickin ...? I think it is great that the aussies have been the ones to beat cause it gives you a bench mark to hit. Way to go Stoner and Bayliss. I helps that they are on Ducatis for me since I am a Duc fan. But regardless people need to support the sport and like who you like but quit hatin for just the region they come from. .... it people. If he is an ....... like Biaggi used to be while he was in GP I couldn't stand him and I am Italian. I am glad the sport is as diverse as it is. I just hope we get some more americans in it and a deeper field with more sponsors pouring in the money.

Sure you can! Here, we can use my multicultural crayons. I think I see a Duc red in there...

Seriously, Son, I don't disagree with some of your points, but grow a thicker skin. These boys are ripping you to shreds, and if it were a fight it would have been long stopped.

The important thing for Ducati and their sponsers, is to improve the overall result.
Last year they not only won the Championship, but because of the stronger results with Cappers, which included a race win and 2 second places, they won the Constructors Championship and the Teams Championship.
There probably are clauses in the contracts that would allow the parting of ways, according to performance, just as there will be incentives for race podiums and wins. While Casey may have signed for a relatively low 1.5 mill, I believe he is on a good bonus for wins, probably not only from the factory, but perhaps also from sponsors.
What they need is someone to back up Casey's strong performance, with at least top 10 finishes, preferably a bit higher. ATM, Yamaha and Fiat Yamaha team are going to be hard to beat, even if Casey manages to lift the Championship.

Maybe that's why Nick and Vale have such respect for one another, they hooked it up one night after too many drinks! Vale binned it on purpose in 2006 to give Hayden a title. Uccio was furious! Now that's a conspiracy.

Sorry, Nick, but it looks like you may not win another one before you make the transition to WSBK. You need to take a page from Colin's playbook and secure some long-term tat while working on the next gen of Hayden champs.
