MCN claims valentino rossi rides the M1 next season!

Because he obviously didn't;t know what the .... he was getting himself into. AT the end of the day, and this is something else people are failing to notice, is that Jeremy Burgess has been making motorcycles go fast for over 20 years and he can't sort it out, so that's goes to show how bad the bike actually is.

Or it also shows how Average Jeremy Burgess is, Gabbarini and crew made that bike work and work well.

MotoVR is not the only one whos Stock has crashed over the last 2 years, J.Bs comment about fixing the bike in 80 seconds was just plain stoopid and thats something he will never live down..

Stoner had ridden the Honda RC211V in 2006. He knew what one of the best MotoGP bikes ever was like.

But he crashed much more on the Honda in 2006 than on the Ducati in 2007 (he never crashed in a race in 2007 if I remember well). Why? Of course, 2006 was his rookie year. But also, it was a matter of tires. In 2007 he had the Bridgestones, that were still designed specifically for the Ducati.

He didn't exactly have the best michelins going around in 2006, to which he attributed most of his problems. No doubt that the 2007 bridgestone developed for the ducati, the 2007 ducati's characteristics and and the way stoner rode it were all in synchrony in 2007, but while he couldn't have done it without the tyre I am not sure anyone else could have done it even with the tyre either.

Stoner certainly seems to be tyre dependent, as the early part of this year has again demonstrated, although he latterly seems to have become more adaptable, just in time for his retirement unfortunately for him and his fans.

Crash says an announcement is due before Indy

http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/182714/1/date_set_for_rossi_to_yamaha_announcement.html

The confirmation that Valentino Rossi will return to Yamaha could be announced as soon as next week's Indianapolis Grand Prix, according to sources.

Speculation of whether Rossi will re-sign with Ducati or accept an offer to re-join the manufacturer he won four MotoGP World Championships with has dominated headlines in recent weeks, with the man himself giving relatively little away as to his decision.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Rossi has already made up his mind to walk away from Ducati after two underwhelming seasons and return with Yamaha in a deal that the prominent Italian sports daily says will be confirmed on the eve of the Indianapolis event on August 15th.

Should Rossi's move to Yamaha be announced, it will conclude a short, but not terribly sweet relationship with Ducati, a marriage that has so far yielded just two podiums in 27 races.

The deal, which would see Rossi take the place of Ben Spies and partner current series leader Jorge Lorenzo, will also spark a flurry of changes across the grid.

Cal Crutchlow has been widely tipped to land Rossi's Ducati ride, but an impending deal hasn't been as forthcoming as expected, while a disillusioned Andrea Dovizioso and Ben Spies have been linked to quitting MotoGP altogether in favour of a World Superbike move.

As it stands, Lorenzo has re-signed with Yamaha, Repsol Honda has signed Marc Marquez to replace the retiring Casey Stoner and join Dani Pedrosa, while Nicky Hayden had his Ducati deal confirmed at the recent Laguna Seca round.

As a sideline, what kind of mental ..... (Rossi Boppers) are saying on Crash.net that Stoner knew this was going to happen which is why he is retiring?

Jaysus! Could their cocks get any further up his arse?

AS a Rossi fan I'm sick of hearing all this what's Rossi doing blah blah etc

who gives a crap

honest he's do jack all in the last 2years and motogp is still awash with everything Rossi

when he retires i feel sorry for the families who will lose loved ones when there family members commit Suicide

i for one hope this soap opera ends when he does announce what ever crap it is

Rossi to NASA Aboard the Mars bike .... off and dont come back

Gpone confirms that Furusawa was made an offer by Ducati which he refused. I'm now convinced he's going to Yamaha.

It's a done deal, 2 year contract.

Now Ducati has to choose between Dovi and Crutchlow.

i seriously doubt dovi would take that seat if the pay check isn't too tempting (he doesn't earn much this year at tech3 from what i've heard).

then again what competitive and well paid wsbk seats are available?

if dovi can get a good deal anywhere else my money would be on crutchlow getting rossis bike

its a shame really that ducati have completely abondoned their unique way of building bikes, they were never going to be as competitive as honda and yamaha in the long term, but the occasional race win where the bike just works were always possible with a top rider.now with the new chassis design...not so much

who knows ,maybe this means a return to the trellis/cf and screamer? ducatis being good sounding exotic bikes that are able to win 1 or 2 races a year would be great.

Ducati is doing terrible, they couldn't sign their top choice in rider, they couldn't sign Furusawa, they haven't done .... to the bike in a year. Way to impress the new bosses with your continued lack of being be able to do anything, heads need to roll

Valentino Rossi was a god of cycling are many who support him but that his powers were beyond the curb of the track were few people suspect. It is proving repeatedly in recent days, including sightings, denials, new revelations, cover-ups and so on and so forth. A novel to be read all in one breath under the umbrella, with the typical soap opera plot twists and a dash of spy story that is both 007, very pleasing in the weeks of the Olympics in the land of Her Majesty.

The latest "bomb" a few minutes ago the site of Motorcycling, with an interview with Francesco Rapisarda, Ducati's communications director, who admits: "the relationship is permanently closed and is a defeat for both." Do not rush to read the article, because it has disappeared from the web page of the magazine but we still managed to save him before its cancellation and can be found on the side. Without doubt, the counter is triggered. Or more prosaically, as they say by the editors of Motorcycling has only been a "misunderstanding", a term that suits the novels of Ian Fleming. Even the same Rapisarda, reached by us on the phone, he denied having ever spoken those words. To understand how pieces are finished in Scotland Yard is investigating.

The mystery deepens and even enter the scene of the alleged hackers in the service, probably, of some faction Ducati. Niall Mackenzie had seen a few days ago none other than Valentino in The Netherlands, near Amsterdam in the house Yamaha. Once again, a hoax , the Doctor was sunbathing on the beaches of Ibiza and celebrate with family Nieto, the birthday of Oscar Haro Tasende, the PR team of Lucio Cecchinello. A photograph (right) on Twitter to confirm and increasingly well-founded suspicion that Smith has the gift of ubiquity. None of this, a skilled hacker would have cracked the social network account and email Mackenzie, depistando so the intrepid reporter. Valentino Or, even without super powers, he could get on a plane and easier to have all the time for a meeting in Amsterdam in the morning and the evening party in the Balearics. But we lean to the ubiquity, which offers a touch of magic more.

What to say about the contacts with the superpower of the Rising Sun? Filippo Preziosi has denied ever having contacted Furusawa , former Yamaha racing team. Too bad that the Japanese think differently and all have flat-spotted, "Preziosi called me and asked me to help him build a better bike." Too bad that the almond-eyed engineer prefers a quiet retirement in Kyoto, rather a work in Bologna. No way, Japan will host a compact Valentine to return to Iwata and this time our super hero does not even have to take off his coat flapping dall'impiccio.

As it ends the story? The last chapter is scheduled for August, and there is also an hour X: 9 am for the official announcement. But maybe you will arrive even earlier: what sense does it wait? Only to comply with what happened two years ago in Brno? Even then, the official site of Ducati-Use "burned" the news. There is little you can do now ... news travels at the speed of bits and just a cell phone in hand to take a picture or write a story that after a few moments online.

This time we think we have guessed the future developments. Our attendance of thrillers gives us three clues that make it a test and then the Ducati is for Rossi now only a memory. If the Pesaro has already signed a two year contract is only a matter of days before and Indianapolis will be the official confirmation. Then if you need a fourth clue, we can also add that the bookmakers pay Valentino at Yamaha just 1.05, while every other possibility to 6.50

For the Doctor a few days relaxing at the beach before communicating the decision, hoping to be able to dive into the waves and not be forced to walk on. Thirty-three years of the rest are a difficult age if you are sons of a god, though smaller as the speed.

It's unlikely they'll return to the trellis as they apparently had an inability to make any two frames the same in terms of stiffness.

http://motomatters.c...smosedici_.html

The downside to the trellis frame is that the trellis - a series of joined triangles - limited the amount of space available for the airbox. All those short, straight tubes meant the airbox had to be shoehorned in, restricting the airbox in both size and shape. Furthermore, the disadvantage of having the frame constructed from twenty or so short sections of steel tubing is that those twenty tubes require forty welds to join them all. Getting weld strength to a precise tolerance is a very tricky art at best, and the more there are, the more chance of variation. While still at Ducati, Casey Stoner said that even when he had identical setups on his two Desmosedicis, they would never feel exactly the same. Paddock rumor suggests that variation in stiffness between two supposedly identical steel trellis chassis could be large - as much as 15% - due in part to the problems of reproducing so many welds and so many parts to completely identical specifications.

It's even more unlikely they'll return to the monocoque design as long as there is a limit on the number of engines in a season as the only way to change weight distribution is to move the engine in the frame - not possible without changing engine mounting brackets. Remember the back end of 2011?

yes sure with the current engine regs its almost impossible they go back to cf and i know about whats the problem with the trellis, but it seemed to work better than what theyre doing now.i'm sure the gp7 was able to breathe somehow

my point is, if they want to win races again,at least every now and then , they need to do something different to what the japanese do IMO

oh yeah, like what a trike? Look at BMW in Superbike..BMW motorcycles over their history have always had a different philosophy on how to build motorcycles as well. But their latest race bike is modeled more closely to a Japanese race bike. And look at where they're at now, at the top of the manufacturers list.

In todays age of motorcycle design most everything seems to have been tried but everybody always comes back to a tried and true design that just works. Without even factoring in todays economic situation, the design of (race) motorcycles seems to have come to a point where there are very few abbreviations to what will work at the very top.

Point is: .... or get off the pot..

not implementing kardan and telelever (parts that make maintenance cheaper and the ride more comfortable) and swichting two race proven chassis to an aluminium one because their main man can't ride it are totally different things.

as is not using air cooled boxer twins.

also bmw is in wsbk using argubly the best street bike and spending a lot to have it perform well, motogp is a totally different matter.

you can get into all the details and nitpick you want, the big picture is the Ducati isn't as good as the other race bikes out there.
