Mat Oxley on the Michelin tires

Stay on point. I know how you love to deflect to other topics when your floundering for facts. This is about that cheater Tom Brady.
You know nothing if your linking articles from NFL.com.
Thats like asking Nick Harris for an unbiased assessment of Rossi. While you were there, did you read any articles about the effects of concussions? There was never any evidence. Zero, none, zilch.
Ted Wells was paid millions to come up with that "independent" report you quoted. Did you read the science portion of that report? Of course not because there was no science in the report. Ted Wells refused to investigate it.
As an engineer who makes his living off of science, one would think that would throw up red flags.
The NFL did investigate the science behind ball pressure last year though. Why would the do that if they were sure there was no science involved in deflategate. Makes sense right. We're going to suspend a player without 1 shred of evidence, disavow the Ideal gas law that states ball pressure changes with air temperature, but hold our own investigation just to see if we were wrong.
Do you know what they concluded? Of course you don't because you refuse to read the facts, no one knows what they concluded because they will not release the data. As you said to others about Brexit. Maybe you should shut the .... up about a sport you have a passing interest in.
I think his point may have been that your attitude in terms of fairness is different in relation to an athlete you like/support than it is to Stoner. Brady is a failure as well in your terms as you apply them to GP bike racing since he has failed to win the title more than he has won it, even though like Stoner regardless of his equipment the Patriots usually perform creditably regardless of the apparent strength of their roster or injuries or as is the case this year suspensions.

Is John Elway a quitter btw for retiring straight after he won his 2nd Super Bowl and apparently feeling fulfilled by just 2 titles?

No.
He's just trying to be an ....... since I dont bow down to his queen

Elway was done at that point. Without looking I believe he was 38 and spiraling downward. He won that last title on the back of Terrell Davis, which may be one of the last years we saw a dominating running back that dictated the game. Since then the game has in large shifted towards the passing game

On that note I bid you good day. I have better things to do than to engage online with someone throwing insults.

Boy did I just light up the secret chat room.

If you were a true football fan you would know these two things
A ) don't ever, ever, never wear an opposing teams gear to a Raiders game
B )Call Tom Brady a cheat to a New England native
Your going to get corrected in the worst possible manner

The Patriots have a long history of cheating, its habitual with them. Spygate, Deflategate, mysterious malfunctions in opponents communication gear when playing in New England. They were fined 100's of thousands of dollars and lost their 1st round draft pick i believe for Spygate, which for those who do not follow the game, they were caught filming other teams during practices when putting in game plans to play New England. Brady without a doubt instructed the ball boy to do what he did and was punished for it. Get over it. And wait till Pittsburg get ahold of them. With Bell back from suspension, the Steelers will be unstoppable.

I actually don't have much problem with Brady, whatever else he is very good.

I am a Big Ben admirer though and the Steelers are my pick this year as well.

I watched both games and don't have to rely on memory.

I think he was done as well, but why is Stoner not allowed to make the same decision. Even apart from him being entitled to make his own life choices, I am glad he didn't end his career like Fast Freddie Spencer, a similarly mercurial rider at his peak, although that would doubtless have pleased you and reinforced your prejudices. I don't think Brett Favre did much to add lustre to his career in his declining years either although I still cheered for him.

I also lament the declining role of running backs; the Superbowl touchdown by John Riggins remains one of my favourite sporting moments.

Without a doubt? If there is no record or testimony of this happening, you consider that " without a doubt".
Without a doubt Minnesota used ball warmers during a game that very same year. That violates the same ball policy. This was caught on live tv. Were there any suspensions or fines. Nope. Why not Povol? Could it be because Minnesota sucked and it wouldn't grab headlines? What about Eli Manning's peace about how he manipulates his game balls. How about Aaron Rodgers admitting he likes his balls pumped over the lake maximum. Why no league investigation suspension and fines there? This is the same exact year as deflate gate
Not even Ted Wells used that language. Without a doubt you watch ESPN and you have not bothered reading the case.
I find it amazing how many people defend the NFL even after theyve been caught lying about concussion data, just because they cant fathom why a team has been so good for so long.
Let me explain to you what Spygate was. Eric Mangini, coach of the jets was a disciple of Belichick. Pats were playing the jets and they routinely videotaped signals from the other team. This is legal and every team does it. A memo from the league came down that said this video taping could only be done from the pressbox. Belichick said this is ridiculous. There's 80,000 people in the stadium and every single one of them could point a camera at the jet sideline. It makes no difference if your record from the field or the press box.
Eric Mangini knew the rule so he asked Jets security to make sure the Pats didnt do it. Against Mangini's wishes security reported the filming to the league.
This was the extent of Spygate. No actual cheating was done. A rule about camera placement was broken. They were fined a first round draft pick and $1 million. Belichick has openly fueded with the league about this and that is why they are keen to go after the patriots for any perceived infraction.
Just last week Eric Mangini came out and said that what the patriots were doing was nothing, and he never intended for them to punished for it

Geez, well ain't this thread gone on and around

Starts with a tyre discussion before the word quit appeared and then became a philosophical discussion on the differences between 'quit' and 'retired' before deciding that one was positive with the other negative, all whilst solving real estate woes with a jar of vegemite before a discussion involving US football.

All this from a Moxley post ............

And people say this place is dull and one-sided.

This thread would not exist in any other place/forum as it would have been locked due to the topic changes, been blown out of proportion with the perceived hatred or simply prattled on wit ha discussion of whether tyres are actually round or whether they appear round whilst in face being another shape altogether

Never a dull moment in this joint and it is better for it

Considering that Im the catalyst for all this nonsense, that makes you the first person in the history of the forum that has wanted me to stick around.
Lets get back on topic

On a serious side JKD, .... yeah stay around as whilst there are times when I think 'what a ........' (not just you mind and I am sure that at times you think likewise of a few) or I may not like the opinions at times or the words at other times, like the world, this place would be extremely boring if we all toed the same party line .

You forgot tyres by the way in regards to the topic but here goes

Stoner no quitter but retired (and I said at the time and say again, hope he stays retired from full time racing as I am a fan of once retired, always retired)

Brady - NFI as I do not follow US Football or whatever it is called, or is he a member of the Brady Bunch

Tyres - round, made of rubber and black, causing problems for many riders with poor quality or seeming inconsistent quality

Oh yeah, and JKD wants some vegemite to try ...........

Well in that case I'll .... your frig of all its beers. I sent jk some of my homemade vegemite. Its basically a mix of jiz and seaweed. I add some lemon juice to give it some zip.

Frig ............ when I was growing up that had a different meaning altogether (and involved fingers and body orifices with the orifice not a place to chill a beer) so assume you mean a fridge and yep, feel free to raid :D

Ah good touch on the lemon juice flavouring as well as that damn near covers it, although did you throw in some artificial colouring to get the colour right?

Whoa. We didn't have names for that where I grew up. I steered clear of priests and such.

I age it until it naturally gets that color. Not artificial colors or sweeteners here buddy.

Which makes Peterson's feat in 2012 even more commendable. I used to love the rushing game of the 80s - Payton, Allen, Dickerson and as Mike says - Riggins. It's a rugby union thing.

A ) don't ever, ever, never wear an opposing teams gear to a Raiders game

I was staying on the Berkeley campus some years ago and I decided to take the BART out to have a look at the Coliseum. Alighting at the station the entire area exuded hostility. There was a caged bridge to the stadium over the railroad lines and the environment was grey bleak concrete and smelt of piss. It reminded me of the chalk hill estate surrounding Wembley before the area was regenerated. Actually, the environs around Candlestick Park weren't particularly clever either. Also took a look at the Olympic Stadium/Exposition Park where they played as the LA Raiders. Have to say, the notion that hosting the Olympics can confer trickle down benefits on the surrounding community is entirely fallacious. At the Coliseum one of the gates was open so I wandered onto the field. Same happened at Seattle - was it called the Qwest field once or something? Sauntered downhill to look at old town where the fire started and wandered over to the Seahawks. Much more pleasant - and again the gates were open so I ventured inside. I have some photos somewhere.

Your list is incomplete without Bo Jackson and Barry Sanders. They along with sweetness were my greatest influences at the position.
