Even less if your leaning your handle into his foot I suppose.
But no. Squatting on a sport bike. No force to speak of. Not buying it. Lean your handle into someone foot and they lift their foot. Maybe. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Watch the slow motion video. Rossi gives MM his wtf look, then his wtf are you doing look and MM answers: riding through you arsehole get out a my ....... way. Then MM's helmet hits Rossi's leg, then they move apart, and as MM starts to move backwards relative to Rossi, Rossi's leg moves backwards and, after that movement has started, MM's handlebars turn in suddenly and he goes down.
If Rossi's leg was snagged by MM's handlebars then, as it became un-snagged, like if he was pulling his leg back into position, then the handlebars would have rotated outwards, not inwards.
You're saying you can't kick a guy off a bike and that's your big sticking point. Then someone is pointing out that you can if you kick their handlebars and then your saying: what? Sounds like blah blah ....... blah...
Anyway... MOTOGP is a tv show. If it wasn't a tv show it would not exist. Coz there's just not enough people in the world, with disposable income... or purchasing decision-making power... who wake up every morning and think: "wow, I wonder who can ride a motorcycle faster than anybody else..." And there's a ....-load of tv shows competing for advertising money, so it has to be a ....... good tv show. Now, take a look at the scintillating after-race press conference that Rossi didn't show up for. DP and JG were like a ....... personality free zone. Imagine if that was the future of motogp. Who would ....... watch that every other week?? Who would give a flying .... which one of those guys was winning?
So, maybe the decision go easy on Rossi was a very pragmatic one. Maybe it was a production decision. Fine with me. Coz it's great tv and I want to keep watching it.
Now, if MM did this or did that and it's within the rules then... shut the .... up. If he did break some rules punish him. If the production team feel that his actions were not good for business, even though he didn't break any rules... change the ....... rules. Or at least clarify them so that they can be applied objectively.
Is it clear in the rules that a rider can't take a wide line or break-check somebody to block them and upset their rhythm? Or that they have to maintain momentum? I doubt it. If they want to pull over and have a piss or smoke a cigaret, why not? What's the ....... problem? It wasn't dangerous.
I don't think they penalised VR for his obstructive line. I suggest it was because it looked too much like he kicked MM's handlebars and self preservation kicked in, taking into consideration the wrath (and the famous volatility) of the local population in the up-coming finale. They have reasonable tradition for throwing bombs there.
Morality in sport is the same as morality anywhere, it's an adaptation in the social evolution process. It's a positive adaptation coz it allows people to live in large groups without the whole thing exploding, but it's not a real thing, like the law of gravity. It was probably made up by stone age girls playing tiggy (maybe you call it tag, but I like tiggy coz it sounds petty)...
But, anyway, if you chose to conform to morality, then you get a measure of protection in return, if you chose to step outside of it, then you have to accept the risk. And maybe guys like MM and VR can do that coz they have the talent to survive without that protection. Also fine with me.
