Rossi, who says having a strong team mate like Lorenzo is not ideal, is considering whether to stay at Yamaha, move to Ducati or switch to car racing when his contract runs out at the end of next year.

"Valentino shouldn't decide the riders for 2011. It's Yamaha's choice, we are just employees," the Spaniard, second this season, told Monday's Gazzetta dello Sport.

clicky

pre season .... flinging to start early.?

So let me get this straight? Jorge says something stupid, and you are going to call out Rossi? I could understand if Rossi said that, but to me thats just Jorge being a whinny little ...... So be it he is probably right. But as long as Rossi is as good as he is, he is going to have the say in who he rides for and who rides with him. He worked very hard to get to that level, and when he is gone someone else will be "the man," if you will.

Let the spin begin!!!

This thread should be good.

Rossi is not just an "employee". He always stated that family atmosphere he had going with Yamaha. Maybe thats why he thinks he has more authority than just to ride, win and develop the bike.

Yeah - who does Rossi think he is - after all Yamaha with Biaggi were nowhere and hadn't been anywhere for a long time - Rossi just comes along with JB and they develop the world beater (excusing 2006 and 2007). Lorenzo should go and develop his own ride - maybe he could, but he should keep his mouth shut until he proves it

I bet this doesn't develop into much of a thread - Jorge is too boring

Stands to reason that there must be some fairly serious behind the scenes
horse-trading politics going on this winter at Yamaha - if Lorenzo is blurting
this kind of stuff to the press. Doubtless he's feeling genuinely pressured
as a result of Rossi's influence at Yamaha. Seems pretty clear that Lorenzo
is trying to gain some degree of ethical high ground and get public opinion
behind him. In the end he knows that if Rossi really does issue an ultimatum
he'll be the one out in the cold. 'Bout now he may be regretting his insistence
on that one year contract.

all this inter-yamaha feuding is probably making #4 and #69 a bit nervous about how well they can do in 2010 and where they will be riding in 2011. j-lo and rossi dont need to worry too much, they will both have a top level factory seat somewhere. IMO the biggest loser in this spat will be dovi.

extended take on stuff.

Lorenzo: 2010 title win not essential

By Michele Lostia and Matt Beer Monday, December 14th 2009, 12:47 GMT

Jorge Lorenzo Jorge Lorenzo says he would not regard missing out on the 2010 MotoGP title as a failure because he believes this is a halcyon time for talent in the championship.

The Yamaha rider fought with team-mate Valentino Rossi for this year's title and is expected to mount an even stronger challenge next year.

But Lorenzo said he felt no shame in finishing second to Rossi in 2009, and did not assume that he would be able to go one better next season.

"I can be nothing but satisfied with my second place in the championship," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"It will be difficult in 2010 because [Casey] Stoner has returned stronger than ever, [Dani] Pedrosa may have a more competitive Honda, and Valentino is always there - he will be 31, that's true, but he isn't old at all. I want to be there with them.

"Many perhaps expect me to win the title [in 2010], but what happens if I don't?

"This is an extremely difficult series, and on top of that it's a time of great riders. Second place is already a fine result. Look at Pedrosa: he's been in MotoGP for four years, but he still hasn't triumphed. To do that, you need to have every aspect sorted out."

Rossi and Lorenzo will continue as Yamaha team-mates in 2010, but Rossi reckons the team will ultimately need to choose between them as he does not think giving two title rivals equal status is a sustainable situation. The Italian has hinted that he could jump ship for Ducati if Yamaha insists on keeping Lorenzo.

But Lorenzo said he was not bothered by Rossi's stance and agreed with his business manager Marcus Hirsch's insistence that the rider line-up was solely Yamaha's choice,.

"I always agree with [Hirsch] and he is right when he says that it's not up to Valentino to decide the riders for 2011," said Lorenzo. "That choice is up to Yamaha. We are just employees."

He also thinks the dividing wall in the Yamaha garage - originally created when Rossi and Lorenzo were using different tyre suppliers in 2008 but retained this season as well - is irrelevant.

"In my opinion it changes nothing," Lorenzo said. "We are two very strong riders mentally, with firm ideas, and it would be the same without the wall."

I'm not going to jump into your pond of Feces again Jum! I still smell too much from the many times I've been there already!!

MDub is right, this isn't about VR, Jorge said it, he is however right and wrong at the same time.....Yamaha do employ them-yes, however VR was winning races and Titles when Jorge was growing his first pubic hair.......more respect required.......good little psych battle though-this is Jorge strength and why VR fears him most.

Ah its too easy.

So you're "not" gonna jump, eh, well it sure looks ^^^ like you just did. Same old argument; so this is not about VR, and this is all about disrespecting Rossi? Hahaha, amazing. Why oh why can't the same yard stick of "whiningness" and supposed earned "respect" and "psych battle" be applied to Rossi's comments? Jorge did NOT start this ....! Did he?? Rossi did with his public WHINING (really, there is no other way to describe it). Are you now gonna rewrite this soap opera? Jorge's comments are a mere response to Rossi's, over and over again, in the public arena no less, bitching and complaining that he wants a weak teammate, one that won't expose the component advantages of equipment he has enjoyed over the years. You see, when you got a guy on near the same stuff you have, who is matching you, oh how uncomfortable that makes him feel! That is rather dastard, wouldn't you say Talpy? Oh, just imagine any other rider saying this, you'd be all over it. Dude, its simple, Rossi is bitching, bitching, bitching. I'm sure this isn't the first time Lorenzo has been approached to comment. But when Rossi keep pushing the point, well geez, its like, enough is enough, shut up already. So you get a response like Jorge's; which I think is rather mild even. There is an element in Lorenzo's comments that basically say, 'oh be quiet'.

What you should be asking, every time this issue comes up is: Why is Rossi devaluing his image when he is already such a legend, by bitching? Maybe he knows that he's safe with the Rossi-boppers, so even if he drowned a bag of puppies, well he'd still be loved no matter what.

Oh, as far as the logic: 'Rossi deserves better based on past accolades', uhm, how exactly does this make sense in an authentic contest (as if this were one). Hahaha, that reminds me of the same lack of logic argued for his sole meritorious award of the Bstones. Yeah, this isn't an authentic contest, we know, and that's what we've been trying to tell you clowns. This here is just one more, of many, public (and who knows how many behind closed doors) bullying to remove any possibility of a level playing field. Ah, ya gotta love it. Keep your eyes open for some other episode of 'Rossi-foot-mouth' report soon. I know he won't let Lorenzo's mature and professional comments stand.

WEll I can easily say that Jorge is trying to start some .... and get Vale to leave for some other team. He is overstating the obvious for his own little devicive tactic to get Vale on the move. I hope Vale puts up the big .... you to Jorge and Yamaha and goes to Ducati. I don't see him going backwards to Honda. But Jorge has some truth to his statement BUT it wasn't like Vale needed to go to Yamaha who basically sucked before Vale arrived and basically he and his team made that M1 the bike that it is today. I don't think Jorge would have done as well by any stretch. But it is good fun to see a fued already starting.

So, Rossi has a whinge, ..."I don't like my team mate, he is fast, I'm thinking about jumping ship unless you attend with all attention to my gigantic dummy spit"

And now Jorge has called him on it and in summary has said "harden the .... up"

Damn it, that Lorenzo just keeps going up in my opinion.

Yes I am very high but I always remember. You would'nt be able to handle what I got

You may or may not have heard of Coronation Street it a British soap opera well that to me is exactly what Motogp is and the riders are like soccer players a bunch of over paid Prima Donnas that do more bitching than anything else. And like Coronation Street its enough to keep mindless ....... happy

Do you get my point now?

My theory... its all a game, and Rossi is a master in it
<

Rossi is just playing with all the characters in the game... just to get things interesting and bring more intention to the game and know and distract players little bit (mind games)... If Rossi retaires, there would be 50% less interesting as it is now. Rossi fooled everyone.... Lorenzo thinks he knows Valentino
<
...i think not, but he knows how to defend the mindgames...he is quite succesfull at it
<

Vale is smart, perfectionist with a lots of talent and expirience under real presure...
If he is beaten...then he become stronger. Look what happend to the IMO biggest enemy Stoner...

All the manufactures wannt Rossi badly... its up to Rossi what mind game he would use. I think, that he just layed some presure to Lorenzo by saying that he... oh yes Yamaha has to decide, to keep lorenzo or not
<

2010... Stoner is stronger, Lorenzo knows he can do it (little more pressured), Pedrosa ( its about fuc...time), Rossi... is just having fun? ...than the middle grid would be awesome (Spies, Edwards, Melandri, Simoncelli,Hayden, Dovi....) ... i think its gonna be awesome season.

I think if anyone of the aliens got a problem or two in there heads...they can "easly" get passed by any of the midle group.
