Le Mans MotoGP:Spoiler

It's still 'today' relatively speaking - I'm 11 hours behind you.

Fabulous - I just wish the testing hadn't been a wash out because I want Valentino to be able to do that in the dry again. At least the 'softer' Desmo allowed him to actually turn the thing. In fact Crutchlow commented from following him in practise how he couldn't believe how quickly Vale could get the thing turned in. Great race - good to see Valentino back - downside is, so is Nino.......... glory hunter.

I dont think the Ducati still has much of a chance in the dry, especially on a hot track. They still have a mountain of work to do yet but this 2nd will do wonders for Rossi's and ducati's confidence. My bet is by the start of next season the bike will be somewhere near competitive.

Exciting, apart from Lorenzo it was a close race with the pass for P2 on the last lap.

I think this was the first worthy battle between Rossi and Stoner since they changed teams, or maybe the first that Rossi came on top and was able to fight.

After Cal and Dovi had crashed and Rossi closed on Stoner, i was wishing for Stoner to be able to make a few seconds gap and make a safe distance between themselves. I was affraid and thought they will crash together but fortunatly it ended in a fair way. It's a shame to miss Stoner's battles with Rossi if he retires at the end of this year. I hope a.f.a.p they both get on top of their problems and we see a few top battles between them in the remainder of this season, or maybe we should do the rain dance for every gp.

Imo Stoner made a big mistake to announce his retierment so soon. This will put a lot of pressure on him and it will also become a big distraction from his goals. Now he will get many repeated questions about his decision, motogp rules, CRV, his sickness, and so on.

The twitter that the Honda team boss sent over looking for Lorenzo or Rossi to replace Stoner for the next season shows that they don't recognise Pedrosa as a rider who can win championships.

Just woke up.... Did Spies fall or run off earlier?

Good to see Stoner and J-Lo trading fast laps.

Haystack?

No, he's just ......

Completely - I agree- but the team had a whole raft of ideas to float at the post race Estoril test (sorry Wills)

Good race from Lorenzo. Today he had great race TACKtics. I must BOW down to his skill. This win may have a lot of BEARING on the championship. Gotta give Rossi some PROPS. He was DEAD CALM today. I could never have FATHOMED todays result. He had it dialed in while his teammate couldnt JIBE with his bike. It was if he had an ANCHOR tied to the back. Dovi did an ADMIRAL job up until the crash. Too bad for RDP. He couldnt bring it back to PORT. Glad to see Crutchlow didnt TORPEDO anyone today. Race direction must have given him a STERN talk before the race.Pedrosa seems to be FOUNDERING. At this point hes just a FIGUREHEAD for Repsol

1. Lorenzo - Peerless, and he's got 8 points on Stoner heading into Catalunya. Good day at the office

2. Rossi - desperate, but less desperate than the lunge at Jerez. Good ride. Fun times for Ducati

3. Stoner - adaptable. Took the points, and gave Rossi room on several occasions so his ambition wouldn't put Casey in the hedges

4. Pedrosa - clever enough to let the race come to him. Attrition put him in fourth

5. Bradl - pretty good for a rookie

6. Hayden - come from behind? only in the rain, too bad he couldn't overtake Bradl before the finish

7. Dovi - disappointing result all things considered

8. Crutchlow - less disappointing b/c Cal is still finding the limit

9. Barbera - whatever

10. Bautista - blame it on Showa

11. Ellison - might have saved his ride this weekend, top CRT, very nice

12. Pasini - didn't expect him to achieve anything this weekend but 2nd CRT is solid

13. Espargaro - still top CRT in the points and scored in every race. Overachievement.

14. Pirro - 14th is best he can hope for with an underpowered, undeveloped bike

15. Hernandez - no spectacular sliding on camera, too bad

16. Spies - WTF?

17. Vermeulen - barely noticed he was back, too bad

18. Silva - whatever

DePuniet - crash before the start line. New record.

Petrucci - too bad he couldn't keep it together

Abraham - couldn't score with a handle of liquor and a bottle of rufies

Agreed.

That's why I think Rossi will be at Duc for the next 2 seasons after this!

I heard the announcers mention that until this weekend Ellison couldnt get the electronics sorted and had yet to score a point

So we are to attribute his sudden form to his electric babysitters.

Another example of how we are watching nothing but a processions of ASIMOs

Stoner said in the sydney sunday press that he announced it when he did out of respect for honda so they wouldn't be embarrassed, as they might have been if he had waited till the end of the year, presumably since everyone would have had to pretend all year he wasn't going.

Some of these posts on this thread are making me seasick...This is not one of them!

Stoner said his tires were worn out. He had a better pace and was catching up slowly with Lorenzo when it was raining more, then the rain almost stopped and his tires deteriorated. It figures. Rossi had a better pace than him at the end of the race.

Yes, I guess consistent with jerez, where he skipped the warm up which was in the wet because of concerns about the longevity of the wet tyres if the race was wet. Jorge did get 4 seconds in front of him in the first place though.

I think, going by what Casey said in the post race press conference, the Honda was struggling to get heat into the tyres in morning warm up. This has always been a recurring issue for Dani. I suspect his grip was compromised in the early stages of the race.

What's wrong with Ben? - his crew chief - I'm absolutely convinced of that. I don't think that Ben is all at sea, rather Houseworth appears to be drowning in an ocean of set up difficulties.

Someone said he had water streaming into his helmet. This is the second time he's done badly due helmet malfunction. At the least he needs to get an Arai.

Rossi did the same thing a year ago at the same track.

Hayden works out setup, rossi benefits, hayden gets ignored. Usual ducati. Moto gp is a joke.

for todays race? or do you mean since rossi tried haydens setup and realised it was a better direction to follow?

i dont think hayden gets ignored...and i dont think hayden worked out the setup it was just the direction he started to go when they introduced the new bike.

it has been said since the beggining that the riders would go in 2 different directions with the new ducati and see which works out for the better, in this case hayden was going in the better direction.

Yes but I am not so certain the water was coming from the outside of his helmet. I think the dude walked under a ladder tripped over a black cat and fell on a mirror that had the reflection of rdp in it.

Funny how rossi tries haydens setup and finds it better and immediately hayden gets slower. Hayden found more than just a direction, he developed a setup. Just the usual bs. Its all about rossi. Ducati gives him too much money and don't want to be embarrassed by having their number 2 riders beating him. Ducati is a joke.
