I don't know what the confusion is. If your bike doesn't run in MotoGP, you CANT buy a parade lap ticket. Seems pretty obvious (but stupid).

Way to .... on of the motorcycling enthusiast.
Can I drive a Fiat if I'm smoking a Marlboro while rolling a joint with my Rizla's.

BTW
Do you Euros realize that rolling paper in America is used strictly for weed,
Noone here rolls tobacco.
There is no way in hell a rolling paper company could ever get their sponsorship
on a car or bike in a national series.
When I first learned Rizla was rolling papers I almost fell off my chair.
Sayin rolling paper is for tobacco here is like saying bongs are for tobacco use only.

WEll not true about the rolling papers not used to make cigs. A friend of mine and his wife at our VFW each week buy a huge tin of American spirit tobacco. They then proceed to roll their own smokes with the filters I might add. They surely are not the norm but with the pure tobacco and by them doing the rolling it is cheaper and also less filler addatives that smokers don't really pay much attention about.

Please link me where it says you "CANT" buy a ticket to parade lap if you don't have one of the MotoGP brands.

Well if you call and try to buy a ticket, you get information that a website doesn't give. Also, while you don't need to enter your VIN, why buy a ticket when you won't be allowed on the track?

You are correct! I just spoke to a snooty supervisor named: Mary Johnson Derr, this after speaking with a snooty ticket rep (Lisa). They were actually annoyed that I directed them to their own website and press release in which I explained that it did not mention it "required" the rider to own or ride that particular brand. I explained it did not show it was "limited" or "restricted" or "prohibited" owners or users of other brands to participate.

Call to Laguna raceway ticket office: 4/30/09 11:25am

I asked Lisa and Mary what would happen to those who already purchased online that do not own or will use a bike with one of those four brands? Both said the customer would "lose" the value of the parade lap. I asked why, if it made no mention of any kind of limitation or restriction of what brand was required or prohibited? Lisa actually said, well it’s based on the "honor system", she went on to say “why would you chose a brand if you didn't plan on using it”? At which I said, well it sure sounds you people need the lesson on "honor" since it sure looks like a bait and switch! She said well why would anybody pick a ticket of a bike they are not going to ride? I told her I own four bikes, and I may chose to take an Aprilia, but still want the Ducati goody bag because I also own one. She continued being argumentative so I asked her to transfer me to a supervisor.

Mary Johnson Derr was not that more helpful or any more professional. She continued the same line of reasoning. Once she saw she could not win the argument, and really how could she, she then said she changed the website. So I asked her what about the people who already purchased the ticket? She said well they only went on sale at 8:00am. I said, yes but its 11:25 now and people have been purchasing them. She actually said, why are you so worried about others? Haha, isn’t that a .....? I told here that it irrelevant, however, I have a group of about 30 people which I directed to purchase this ticket package offer because I organize a group every year to the event. So again, I asked here what will happen to those that already purchased the package? She said they would lose the parade lap value.

I explained I felt it was a shady tactic of bait and switch. Some people had already purchased general admission tickets, and now you tempt people into buy another package because you wrapped it with the novelty of riding on the track with their sport hero. So you included a general admission along with a new parade lap. But make no mention of limitations. That is shady.

I told her well some of these people are coming from around the nation, as well as two from overseas, and I planned to have them use one of my bikes, so now they are screwed because you guys made a mistake. I explained, some of these people debated to make the trip, but once they found out about this special offer to ride near their sports heroes was the clincher, they made the commitment to purchase airline tickets. Why don't you just let them ride the parade lap with another brand? She said the best they could do was offer a refund. I said that doesn’t help, you sent out your press release to roadracingworld as well as your own website about this special offer, people relied on it and booked their flights with the belief that they would be on the track at the same time with the motogp star, a big deal to some, and now they can't because you were not careful to make your offer clear. And worst of all, once the mistake was detected you and your rep were rude and question our integrity in trying to cover up your own shady offer description.

She ended by saying they were having another parade lap on Saturday for all riders with any brand of bike. I asked her if the MotoGP stars would be leading the lap. She said, no. I said, are you sure?...

That was the hint that you need to be on a participating brand. Shady as hell and good for you for calling them on it.
