Japan Grand Prix at Twin Rings of Motegi

I am thrilled (?) to see Zarco on pole. I thought it was great fun to watch both QPs.
On the MotoGP FB page they're saying that the gamble didn't pay off for Marquez and Rossi but I can't see exactly what downside there was for Marquez.

As for Rossi maybe he felt 12th was the best he could do anyway, he didn't set a good time after the bike change. He was 2.2 seconds behind Iannone, if he had pace he elusive showed it in the few laps he did on the wet bike.
If it's wet, it's not really the same as passing in the dry. I don't want to be passing anyone on the brakes in the rain. I don't think it's a forgone conclusion for MM to win. He barely got past Petrucci to win before in the wet. In my opinion, it was a mistake on his part to assume he nailed pole, because there are too many risks in the wet. Maybe Rossi was trying to sucker everyone in, because he and his bike are still a trainin' in the the rainin'. The only suckers were HRC and MM.

Answer: out of touch with reality.

Can't blame him too much given he lives in a bubble. Despite Cuntslow having a consistent pattern of crashing, it's not his fault.. because:

1. Normally when you crash this much race direction, and the sport media grill you about it. Except in Cuntslow's case, reporter's never take him to task, quite the opposite, like Matt Oxley who wrote an article rationalizing that Cal crashing thee most in a season illustrates many positive traints. Message to Cuntslow: crashing good, you good.

2. Normally when you quit on a factory 2 year contract in the first year you're let go and correctly blacklisted in the paddock for being dishonorable. Instead he was picked up by a satellite team. Message: quiting is good, you good.

3. Normally when you openly talk .... about testing duties wilst riding a satellite machine you'd be shown the door at contract time. Instead he was signed to a factory contract. Message: talking smack about factory good, you good.

4. Normally when you talk .... about competitors and incessantly boast about yourself arrogantly people normally correctly concluded he's a prick. Instead they rationalize that we don't get 'British humour'. Message: insulting arrogance is funny good, you good.

It's apropos to note, when Pedrosa crashed into a slow moving Cuntslow in a race, he demanded Pedrosa apologize immediately with a millisecond of the incident. Which Pedrosa did actually through hand gesture, it wasn't enough, Cuntslow berated Pedrosa whilst at the gravel. Then when any normal person would have calmed down, he said some hate filled disparaging words about a fellow factory rider who dropped out of contention. Saying he was glad Pedrosa had lost his points position, a real ....... chickenshit thing to say. You think the media took him to task? People agreeing with Cuntslow that it's Lorenzo's fault is totally a reflection of Jorge's unpopularity and nothing to do with Cuntslow's assessment; its simply the Rossi Cult scourge that envelops this sport. Notwithstanding, Cuntslow will get a pass yet again feeding into his total disconnect with reality. Btw, this fabrication by Cuntslow isn't new, he has claimed before that he crashed due to "slower riders" in front of him.

Edit to add: if Cuntslow ever crashes out Rossi, you'll see a different tune. Not that it will ever happen though, Cuntslow rides around Rossi like he's Petrucci.

Cal must crash so much in anticipation of lappers

Honda collection hall is out of control. I probably took two gazillion pics if not more.

Guys in moto3 ventured out on slicks but it started raining almost immediately. It's already looking like weather is going to be unpredictable.

I read on FB that Marquez was setting a PB lap on the slicks until he had a moment and backed off, can anyone confirm?

If wet.

Zarco
Petrucci
Marquez

Miller - 9 beers deep by race end at home in Queensland

FYI - he has apparently been riding on the road (push bikes) upwards of 70 kays per day this week and has said he will be at PI

I think it was JPS a while ago that said after Mugello 2016 that Rossi riding around for half a lap after he blew his engine sets a terrible example for the younger riders. This two delay was due to a sky VR46 racer riding around after blowing a gasket and leaking oil everywhere even after he had checked the bike. He might not have seen the leak and deserves the benefit of the doubt but there could also be some truth to the previously made comment.

That's wishful thinking and the product of media sycophants looking to make Rossi appear as the smartest guy in the room (he's not).

What is the difference between 1st and 3rd when MM was the fastest guy the entire weekend? Nothing. The race is his to lose tomorrow.

.... off: not the product of any media whatever. I don't listen to those ..... mate. And I'm not a ....... Rossi syncho-[emoji158] or phsyco-[emoji158] fer that matter. So let's be clear: I couldn't be arsed turning myself inside out to venerate or demonize him. Waste of ....... emotional energy.

Difference between 1st and 3rd is potentially, track position on a wet track for a few laps. So, statistical speaking, a degraded position for MM who Rossi, being the .... that he is and knowing P12 was his lot, ....... hates. Haha.

I was wondering (ignorant ....... that I am) if there is maybe some back office in the Rossi team, who, knowing this, might have made such a call? Dunno.

I think it's funny If is true, hence I throw it out there as a genuine question, from a position of genuine ignorance.

And MM's explanation is a bit of a stretch? Like yeh, after all the practice sessions in mixed conditions we decided the smart play was to ditch qualy and get a couple of laps of data on how the slicks would go if we ...... up and went too early in them.

Be funny if true?

I'm hoping for this,
Dovi for the win
Zarco's
Marquez

I've noticed if it stays very wet, Dovi is always very strong. His pace only drops of it dries out to much. I'm starting to regard him as one of the great wet weather riders, along with Marquez of course.

This should finally dispel any doubts about Dovi. Those of us who have carefully watched his career knew this race is an example of the man!
