Is now the time to march Dani to the gallows?

Jonny Rea for life.

2011 Sloth, 3 factory Honda's, Spencer, Peddles and Dovi. Pedrochio finished below both of them in the championship.

He broke his shoulder (Thanks Marco!) in France. Missed three races and DNFd in Italy(? His first race back from the injury). Dovi beat him by 9 points, but finished 5 more races.

Dani can thank himself for that one. He could have prevented it.

Well it is very hard for me trying to understand these guys and their behavior right now. I think Pedrosa has changed a lot since 2011, last year He rode with more focus and he started to play mind games with Jorge in the 2nd half of the season until the Misano incident. I get the feeling he has started this season with the same attitude and he acts and speaks like everything is under his control. I don't know how much he is right but I know Marquez's impressive "season start" and Pedrosa's relaxed and calm "season start" (like last year) has started at the same time and this brings doubts to the mind of everyone including me. I guess this is the reason this topic has started. Everyone is confused about Pedrosa and Marquez's performance. But I think if we change our minds and point of view and look at the situation from another angle it will help us clarify the whole problem. We just need to try understand Pedrosa and Marquez's state of mind right now:

1) Pedrosa's situation: 27 year old .... 7 years in the factory Honda team...... No Motogp title.... He is against one the most focused and consistent riders of Motogp (Jorge Lorenzo) .... Tries to avoid injury and mistake ..He has to play mind games with the top rivals..... He needs to get the maximum point out of every race and win when there is the possibility ..... He needs to get a title if he wants to keep the factory bike for the 2015 season. (Actually I don't know if Nakamoto san will keep on trusting Pedrosa's ability after the end of 2014 season ... I think the Spanish guys at repsol are focusing on Marquez so if there is a part that wants Pedrosa to stay more in the team, it will be Honda)

2) Marquez's situation: 20 year old ... Fresh from getting the Moto2 title .... amazing talent and bright future .... No main rivals in the big class .... No pressure for a title .... New 1000 cc toy to play .... He is the rookie of the year ... He wants to have fun and gain as much experience as he can in his first season.

My final words: In my opinion if we want to judge Pedrosa's performance we have to wait until the end of 2014 season... the new offers and contracts come and I think Repsol is not going to support Pedrosa like before since they have a new Spanish star in the team. So Pedrosa at the end of the 2014 season has to show Honda what he is capable of with his performance in these 2 years. (actually if he wants to stay in the game for the 2015 season)

I'd have to say that you could also interpret the mindsets as Pedrosa = desperate.

To make any suggestion that the title would not be as important to Marquez underestimates his enormous ability and ego. Marquez has just broken a record and wants a few more to his name.

Pedrosa has also just broken a record and that is Honda's longest supported factory rider no title. The pressures are many and varied and my cal on it is Pedrosa will snap by the end of the season and outride himself, break a bone or do something silly.

Brother Roo

It is too early for anyone to be desperate!

I fear you are trying to achieve a smoke screen here!

The MM circus is about to rediscover just what an animal motogp is! ;)

Ah yes brother fox,

Perhaps it is motogp that is about to discover what an animal MM is.

Thus our submission made we establish that motogp has been a circus for a very long time.

And MM may take the lion tamers position - not the clown.

I wish I'd answered this last night as I was drunk and very very poetic. My neighbour (supremo good sort) and two of her good sort friends took me out to dinner, so, instead of maintaining some degree of sophistication (this would be clever) I established I wasn't driving, got drunk as a monkey and sang both my joys and sorrows.

Thanks Andy Roo, I agree with you but I'm not underestimating Marquez's enormous ability or ego, For sure he rides for win every time he gets on the bike, He is young, talented and he has a competitive bike to achieve further goals and brake new records. What I'm trying to say is as a Motogp rookie the pressure on his shoulder is not as much as on Pedrosa's. The repsol team and Honda have invested on Pedrosa since he started racing in 125, so it is very easy for them to invest on another spanish guy like Marquez for the future 5 or 6 years. But on the other hand Pedrosa was so close to winning the title last year (I know Jorge was playing championship points from Misano), He has learned the way to stay consistent and fit for the whole season. So He thinks the title is more reachable for him, therefore he feels the pressure and expectations. So he is thinking about the 2013 season as a whole package unlike Marquez who is gaining experience on his first year and wants to be the best in every race and impress people like us race by race. by the way I still don't understand his crazy lean angles. So Sick :)

He is the rookie of the year ...

Not yet. Maybe at the end of the year you can say that, but right now, no he isn't.

Perhaps he may being going to show us all?

Good ride today. He isn't going to fare well in a Marquez bulldozer incident. If he can charge off and manage the lead he will go perhaps a little better than I stated.

I still think he will be the whipping boy of MM at season end though.
