There is also this rumor that Marq will move to KTM in 2025, which would be a good move for him, their bike is competitive and getting better, they are sponsored by Red Bull, and they could probably pay him the most. If that is the case, then I would not expect the Ducati factory to help him out as much, not for 1 year on a customer bike.

Also talk about the Repsol sponsorship with some suggesting it is tied more to him than Honda. I think Red Bull KTM have existing sponsorship which precludes him taking Repsol there.

It will be interesting. If someone on a factory bike looks safe to win the championship it would seem likely they won’t help him overly, unless they want him with however many titles he wins associated with their brand. I imagine he is still not popular in Italy though.

Repsol won't move from Honda, if anything the alternative for Repsol is to drop from MotoGP. Marc won't move to the official Duc even if he wins the championship handily because it would mean breaking his long lasting ties to Red Bull. He's obviously gonna jump to KTM in 2025.

Martin is a redbull rider. What stops Marc from continuing with redbull as a factory Ducati? Rossi brought monster with him.

I was working under the assumption of Marc being offered a Ducati Lenovo seat for 2025, and they only work with Monster (they forced Enea to switch energy drink brands). The only way to keep the Marc/Ducati/RB trio is by remaining in satellite structures, but I'm pretty sure Marc only plans to ride for cheap the next year and not every season until the end of his career.

Repsol has a big deal with Honda, most dealers carry it, most bike manuals specify a specific type of repsol oil. KTM has a similar deal with Motorex.
I dont see an issue keeping repping Red Bull on a factory Ducati, though I think Red Bull would prefer him on a KTM.

What would stop RB from making ducati an offer they couldn't refuse to sign Marc? Marc like Val has the potential to bring more cash to a team via sponsors.

Obviously nothing, but there could be contractual obstacles to that, Monster signed an exclusivity deal with Ducati starting this year and we don't know the details. It might not be that simple.

I'm going to guess its the complexities of finance/sponsorship that are delaying the announcement of his arrival at Gresini

Usually these announcements of signing with a team come on Thursday or Friday of a race weekend. But I have to wonder if KTM slipped him an offer?

I only use Motul. Just because I know you're curious 😆

Don't get excited. I'm reading somewhere that part of his release agreement with Honda is to not talk about his new bike or team until after the season ends.

Honda HAVE granted him permission to test the bike at the Valencia test after the race, so there is that to look fwd to!

I would think, Alex has told Mark everything there is to know about the Ducati he is going to ride, all he has to do is 'set the controls for the heart of the sun' and get use to the extra power that is available.

MM, even though a genius, can't just jump on a brand-new bike and win races imo...
Casey Stoner, Eddie Lawson and Valentino Rossi did. He also did himself of course, he and KRSR being the only riders since the first ever season to win the title as rookies.

Depends on the bike. If a 1 year old Ducati is capable of winning he will win on it.

Is the Duke really his style?
Martin and Bez and Pecer and BB are tough comp...
What isn’t his style ?.

I think it is more likely to be Soner getting off the horrible 2010 Ducati and on to the Shona and immediately being the fastest rider in the post season test than anything else.

If the 2024 factory Ducati is significantly better than the 2023 bike then sure they have some fast young riders particularly Martin, but none of them have laid claim yet to being the fastest rider ever which MM has actually done.
