Has your view on Dani changed after his Brno win?

There is no doubt Dani rode brilliantly on Sunday, it was close but even when he made a small error and let Jorge in he still made the race his own. Pedrosa is on the form of his life, but my opinion of him hasn't changed much as anyone who has been paying attention long enough will have already seen that Dani is capable of this kind of thing. This year the difference seems to be that things are coming together and clicking for him in that way that they must for anyone to be a title contender. How much of that is in the bike, team, Dani's riding or Dani's head we don't know, but it's nice to see another riders at this level so close on overall performance

As Barry originally commented - Pedro was rear wheel steering/spinning up, (as Dani said post race), to get the bike around the corners, but also as I read today - the TC was inhibiting his drive so he reduced it mid race and ajusted his style to Stoner mode. What a boy!

Just been reading my 2006 MotoGP book and here were the main differences in Dani's and Nicky's bikes (known as the Brno/Hayden Special)

Pedrosa:

"Special" 2005 frame, with a bit more flexibility in the steering head and engine mounted slightly higher (later this chassis spec was made available to Melandri)

Coil spring clutch

Hayden:

2006 frame (Short engine, long swingarm)

Engine with more cooling fins on the sump

New swingarms

Repositioned rear shock absorber (Post Brno)

Diaphram clutch (post China until Motegi)

Revised rear pipes, larger diameter (Post Donington)

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Scenario #1 - Dani Pedrosa, 2012 MotoGp champion: "Ah, he's always had the best bike. That Honda was unbeatable in the second half of season. He did F-all for years and was only gifted the title because Stoner was injured and retiring anyway."

Scenario #2 - Dani Pedrosa, 2nd in 2012 MotoGp championship: "Dani is as useless as .... on a bull. He had the best bike, a sidelined team-mate, and still couldn't win a title to save his life!"

Let's cut the guy some slack, eh? He's trying his best. Let's not dwell in the past - let's see how he goes. If he cracks in the next couple of races, we'll march him to the gallows then...

good post mad mick, though i think there are quite a few spectators that would applaude dani if he beat lorenzo whos in the form of his life and on a near perfect machine

this might be the defining year in danis career as it probably is his best chance at the title if honda don't build a miraculously fast machine next year and rossi/jb .... up development once again

I will just put it this way ............... I stand to pocket some coin if/when Pedrosa wins the 2012 title as I got damn good odds at the start of the year from a Pedrosa-Hater (not Jumkie
<
).

I got odds of 50/1 against so invested a $50 on it.

The guy who made the bet even stated that as long as Pedrosa finishes in the top 2 I get my money back ................. nothing to lose.

That bloke must be sweating a bit now

Little Midget ain't gonna take the championship, so calm down you twats.

The little turd will find a way to lose out on the championship, one way or another. He just won't ever go down in MotoGP history as a champion...... that's his fate. A fast little turd that never had that extra oomph to take him all the way to the top.

I never did rate Pedrosa highly. He's just not extraordinary in anything....... doesn't really have a strong point that stands out.

I mean....... come on. Stoner came in his first year at HRC on Dani's bike, and kick Dani's azz easily.

You may be right, but hope you are wrong. Anyway, good post - gave me a good chuckle.

He's just not extraordinary in anything...

He's extraordinarily, EXTRAORDINARILY small.

He's extraordinarily unlucky.

He really is extraordinarily damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

He looks extraordinarily like the lead singer of Stereophonics' continental twin.

He's an extraordinarily better / faster rider than 99.999% of people on the planet.

He's extraordinarily slower at any type of motor-sport than BM.

He was extraordinarily ...... to Nicky.

He was extraordinarily ...... to Marco (RIP).

We HAVE to hate (dislike?) him cuz of the whole extraordinarily evil Puig thing even though he seems OK sometimes.

Until the last couple of seasons he was extraordinarily grumpy, probably even more so than Stacey.

Nikki Ferrari would think he was an extraordinarily small dildo.

He's gonna fall off & get injured extraordinarily soon...

Great post, can I just add Troy says he's gay?

Welcome to the Church of Willski!

Forgive my ignorance, but alot of people talk about a specific controverial issue regardlng Puig. Apart from generally being an evil ....... ...., what is it specifically that he did that everyone seems to repeatedly refer to?
