Have you ever been broadsided on a corner and pushed off the track onto wet grass? On a slick tyre too. I'll give you a clue, the answer contains 2 letters.

But rossi wasnt broadsided when you look at the footage. Marc held his line .... rossi changed his. Indeed the onboard footage from Marcs bike shows an inward nudge at the rear wheel that then caused Marc to veer outward.
I think rossi created a no win situation for himself.

And when you look at the broadcast footage it looks like rossi is either going wide or leaving Marc room to pass. Then he veers fsst for the space he left.
To be honest when it was happening I thought "wow rossis having a slack day hes letting him through!" Then bam he changes line.

This is something JLo did all the time and no one was ever penalized for it. However do it to Rossi and it a penalty. Everyone except for marc was taking wider lines for late apexes because of the conditions. You can't blame Marc he never looked out of control once during the race.

Are you referring to Ago?
He is a 16 ( using your math ) time world champion.

Which is nothing compared to my 41+ CWC's
( couch world championships )

As a fellow world champion I dont often agree with Ago .... but I do on this one.

I think he's referring to me, haha.

He's purposely missing my point which was that someone who 'soccer dives' is a ......

He can't argue that so he pretended I said someone who drives a 250 HP motorcycle was a ......

Typical tactic.

Well what sort of World Champion are you? Ive already claimed Couch ..... you can have armchair if you like .... or Couch 2 or 3 lol.

On the "tactic" ... its the yellow thing to do.

Reasonable clear-headed post.

Better than the infinite black flag, other penalties posts.

MM never lost control the entire time. The Murder Mac comparisons aren't to be found here. He was riding on the absolute limit and the field collectively did not have his pace.

Broadsided?

LMAO

Not even close. Next thing you'll be telling me is there was a shooter on the grassy knoll that was taking potshots at Vale and paid by MM.

Thanks. I guess I am kind of an arse, in that I let myself get sucked into the snakepit with trolls again. Doh! Oh well, it's a new day.

Hey guys , take the no troll pledge! Please support me or I will cry tears of curry and misery!

You sound like you can’t even keep a bicycle right side up.

Rossi ran into Meathead? It is a late apex corner. No one is going to approach it on an acute angle as MM did unless he was looking to interfere with a riders corner exit.

Don't know about you but yes, about 4 or 5 times over 20+ years, only got hurt once, a broken finger that got trapped in between the brake lever and grip. .... happens.

Uh no, Synn brought up 15 when he said that year was a toss up when in fact Lorenzo was the dominant rider of the two.

And my response was directly related to the absurdity of using laps led as a measure of dominance.

Points are what count. Rossi could've ran more risky races and possibly got a few higher placings, but he was leading for the whole championship. He had a more defensive strategy.

There isn't a single rider of note that disagrees with you (e.g. Ben Spies and Troy Bayliss all have said MM was acting like a goose).

This forum contains all of the experts, however. Bayliss and Spies are wrong. They are right.

Hypocrisy (Rossi's not yours) is the problem.

Basically Gibernau, Stoner twice and MM himself have been demonised when the situation was the reverse of this one, with Rossi's not very tacit encouragement, and he himself has said things like "that's racing" when he was the ascendant/recognised gun rider.

I don't excuse myself from the double standards you have correctly pointed out but any sympathy I had for Rossi's whining ran out a while ago given his own double standards, and it is exactly his mobilsation of/exhortation of his fans as a weapon against his competitors which brought me to my current attitude.
As usual, I don't disagree - Rossi had done some silly things in his career - I think there's a solid argument he should've been disqualified at Jerez 05 and at Sepang 15.

He also made an unrealistic pass on Stoner at Jerez 2011 which never would've stuck.

However, three (or four, if we include Laguna which I thought was borderline) incidents in 21 seasons is very different from what MM has pulled throughout his career.

It’s even more hilarious when you hear the experts of this forum assplaining how the rider in the front is responsible for making sure the rider in the back safely gets through.

Every single time I think that these mouth breathers can’t get any less dumb, they collectively prove me wrong again.

And I ask, are you not all entertained?

Answer do nothing, this last round made uncle Calmello record amounts of $$$$, he isn’t about to cancel “deathrace” anytime soon. I don’t particularly like it yet I am entertained so I’ll just roll with it.

.

Easy to say, sitting on your couch mate. This sport is a matter of life and death. We have to keep a reasonable lid on things, no matter who the rider is.

If it were all about entertaining, why not go back to the days of the Colosseum?

I saw Spies tweet that Marquez was braking into the riders (referring to the Vinales incident) and said it was wrong, or words to that effect.

But Vinales said the whole thing was caused by Karel suddenly slowing and everyone behind him was caught up by it and had to find there own way to stop and avoid, again paraphrasing.

So, I don't give Spies (on his couch like me) opinion on some things that much credence, especially with Vinales statements. I'll try and find both quotes and put them in here with an edit.

Here the two quotes are:

That near-miss had been caused by Abraham, Maverick Viñales explained. "Actually, it was not with Marc, it was with Karel," the Movistar Yamaha rider said. "I was trying to push, but Karel was a little bit stopping and going, and braked so early in Turn 5. So I avoided him, and then all the riders who were behind me also had the same problem. So we needed to avoid each other."

As a @marcmarquez93 fan he’s def riding over the limit around people. One problem is braking into a rider or group of riders like we saw with Vinales. Again I like him but I think they should have docked 10 points and moved on.
