Not surprising the tyre kickers were nowhere during the actual race and have come back in full force after it. I doubt any of you actually watch the on track racing and live for the gossip.

Much as the majority here perceive that you and an itty-bitty minority are much more invested in making childish snarky remarks from the safety of your bedroom than in actually talking about racing.

Here I was thinking that getting up at 4am might be a waste of time if it was a dull race. How wrong I was. First of all, congrats to Cal for the win. I'm no fan of listening to his words but he rode a great race. As long as I keep remembering to mute the TV every time he goes to speak I'll enjoy seeing him competitive! Great to see Rins get some podium time on the Suzuki too. I bet it means a lot being his maiden one. Zarco is looking stronger and stronger at the end of races which shows he is only getting quicker.

Now for the drama. Sure, after showing so much pace Marc was clearly flustered, impatient and went for gaps that closed a lot quicker than he expected (after the ride-through) but like others have mentioned, none of the contact appeared intentional with malice like some have suggested. He made mistakes and was immediately penalized. As for the Rossi incident, taking the context of Rossi's career into consideration it was hard to have much sympathy for him being on the receiving end of bad luck. I was glad to see he wasn't injured. It was interesting however to see echoes of Rossi's past being re-enacted yet he (or Uccio) didn't appear to act like the wiser men with the roles reversed. I thought it was good to see Marc have the balls to stay around for a post race interview and face the music.

Can't wait for the next round. Don't tell me it's going to be on at some ungodly hour again.

Curry muncher has a good plan going on with this ...... second account doing all the trash talking.
We were here actually talking about the race during the race. Where the .... were you?

Here's my thoughts as if anyone cares:

1. Another exciting, interesting race this year.
2. Mad Marc is back which is entertaining but a wee bit dangerous. It will be a one-off for sure and he will calm down by the time we get to Texas.
3. Rossi is really past it and I say that as a Rossi Fan. 5th or 6th place is probably where he will finish most races. The odd podium perhaps but it's time to retire.
4. Rossi should never have used the word "scared". It's weak. Maybe it's because he's Italian and he couldn't find the right word.
5. Jack Miller was treated unfairly. There needs to be some tweak of a rule to not allow this to happen again. A cut off point for when a bike can no longer be taken off the grid.
6. It would be nice if there was less homophobia on this forum. Racism wouldn't be tolerated. Some of us might visit and post more. It's the 21st Century for god's sake.

Honestly - I don't believe the gay remarks about Rossi are serious. It's just good natured banter. There are one or two serious racists on this forum - but they are very much on the down-low about it.

Yee haw Austin. Good news is it should be one hour closer to mourning. Get your nap on.

That’s the spirit, cheer up buddy. I’ve been a bit worried about you. I know you were looking forward to the ‘racing’. Better days ahead, maybe Max can come out of retirement, just for Rossi. GeriatricGP

Geriatric Prix - pronounce phonetically.

Stoner won twice as many championships on the Ducati than did Rossi, so by your reckoning, he's twice as talented.

I didn't realize both of Stoner's championships came on the Ducati.

You must be a special kind of stupid.

How can you say Marquez had no malice intent with his contact? He shot for gaps that did not exist. The only way that's accidental is if he went temporarily blind. Each rider he hit, he knew there would be contact unless they were able to yield the line to him at the last second. What he did was completely intentional and RD cannot allow him to ride like that. If they don't take more serious action, I wouldn't care if Iannone torpedoed Marc's season to an early ending.

Well... guys, you have to start thinking straight :cold:
As a Rossi fan way back when he was riding in 125cc, it was a very interesting and fun race to watch. Struggling factory yamahas again, Zarco a second faster on the "old" yamaha :(

JLO - I never liked the guy but actually right now I am feeling sorry for him, hes just disappeared...

As for the "drama queen" , Mark was so fast today that I think he could've won by a minute + if not penalized. The Honda made a great bike, this year is almost impossible to think anyone will challenge them, especially Mark. But today he was wrecles, he tried to prove to us the world and to himself that he can finish top 5 after so many problems and the result was.... starting the new war "era" of MMQ VS VR46.

I am sure he didn't do it on purpose, but anyway after the accident he did almost the same thing with Maverick.... I believe he was punished enough, he gave his heart and get 00000 points.
He didn't want to go to VR box, this was visible to all of us, his face was hollow, his movement was ghostly...
Anyway, please stop saying " he has the balls" , "he is more of a men" and so on... He was pushed to go for PR purposes. If I was VR I would not accept "that kind of" apology. Uccio did also very wrong and bad, he shouldn't say these things to Mark and I agree that his place is not in the box.

Lets not forget the adrenaline, ask yourselves guys, if you had such a bad weekend and you were torpedoed like this? Will you accept the apologies right after?
I was pissed and even I said several "bad" things for Mark but 1-2 hours later everything went off, I am not saying it will went of for Rossi but he would've accepted an apology later in the day or the next day without so many cameras and adrenaline.

I am sorry for this, because Mark really is the fastest and most talented rider of all time but he will NEVER be liked around the world.

Rossi hate on this forum is even stronger than rossi fanboys around the world :) :spin:

Its Marc not Mark. This is complete ..... First you are going to have to show me a link that Marc not Mark was forced to go to Rossi's pit. Second not accepting an apology is a lot different than sending the Italian state puff marshmallow man to tell Marc not Mark to .... off. If he needs lessons in not accepting apologizes he just had to think back to Jerez a few years ago. Third How can you call Marc not Mark a drama queen? It is Rossi that is blowing this out of proportion with his "I'm scared" comments. Last Marc not Mark did not torpedo Rossi, he bumped him off line and Rossi made a poor decision trying to turn on wet grass.

Rossi has earned his hate. As the face of the sport he could have been the bigger man and made all this go away. Like a true goat would. But he chooses to be a master manipulator instead.

Rossi hate? I for one do not hate Rossi, I just have no respect for him. I absolutely loved him in 125. But at some point in 500 he turned moron. If you need to see dirty racing look no further, it is part of Rossi racecraft. There are little things that armchair racers do not even notice, but certainly affect the riders he is racing on the track. Most of these stunts do not end with a crash and he never gets punished. For instance the pass last year he did on Pedrosa. Look how he blocked Pedrosa unnecessarily. If this is not dirty racing then there is no dirty racing at all.

Thank you Sir.

Must be the surgery drugs working Kesh. But maths says Stoners 1 WC on a Duc is infinity times rossis 0.

Which gels with the fact that Stoner is infinitely better than rossi.
