He did in Australia I think in 2014, was given a ride though and ignored it.

2013, black flagged for going an extra lap before changing bikes when there was a mandatory pit stop for the first time ever in MotoGP.

Because Rossi has done similar and worse moves with no penalty. Nobody has a problem with the penalty but with the fact that Rossi didn't receive the same for causing someone to crash with far more malice.

Tell us the race that Rossi received 3 penalties and made contact with at least two different riders. If you can't do that, don't claim that Rossi has done similar or worse.

Why exactly did they do away with intermediate tyres anyway? The race could have started normally if they still had those.

Wait Rossi won't allow Marc into his pit? He cant give the same treatment he was given to by stoner? That's ...... up. I guess Rossi ambition outweighs his class.

No its that .... sucking glove puppet who went into one, if I'd been Marc I'd have kicked his balls out his mouth.

I'm a massive Marquez supporter, but sorry, he made a few mistakes today.
He made a mistake in stalling the bike, and instead of acknowledging this, and starting from the pit lane he decided to try to get back on the grid.

Then when he got the ride through penalty, he lost his head a bit, and went really agressive/borderline illegal, on some moves. He deserves the penalties. Hopefully he can learn from this.
I think even from pit lane, he would have finished top 3.

I think the problem is race direction are not consistent with the penalties.

I have no problem with the penalty, i have a problem with how arbitrarily they hand them out.

Precisely, exactly my sentiments last night when I posted about Canet. What he did to Makar Yurchenko, much like Rossi at Sepang was red mist and premeditated. What Marquez did was old 'Murder Marc' - recklessly riding through people and stealing their lines. HAs it emerged whether he forced Viñales wide yet too?

Kudos to Cal, his experience in the class and managing the race showed around a circuit he loves - but how far ahead would Marquez have finished had he not have stalled on the line? Losail International and Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo are anomalies and although COTA is pure Honda, the ground war begins at Jerez.

In spite of that this championship is only heading one direction. All roads lead to Cervera.

They were completely useless, if it was dry enough to use them you could use slicks.

Rossi
Nakagami
Asparagus A

The move on Pedrosa was a bit dicey too, but I guess it was fair.

I haven't posted here for a while. What a race that was. Incredible! And the reason I compulsively continue to watch!

I love the abundant passion and joy this sport provides, and embrace the discussion this forum creates too.

But guys, the blind fandom and frankly juvenile argumentation here is what prevents me from chucking in my two cents more often.

So back we go to my view of todays race;

A brilliant performance for the top ranking riders. Really held it together and managed the conditions superbly.

The scenario created by race direction at the start was frankly absurd but when the rules dont account for scenarios such as those we saw today perhaps we should appreciate we didn't have another Sachsenring situation.

And finally, the Marquez pass was obviously an ill judgement made in the heat of competition. Thank goodness we see such ambition and desire on track. As foolish as it may seem its exactly why we tune in to watch and long may it continue.

Regarding Uccio turning Marc away from the Yamaha garage, perhaps the chap should consider the fact that he's been gifted his position in the paddock, and allow the athletes to settle such differences themselves. No one likes a hanger on, especially when they have no real influence on the sporting proceedings.

Anyway, hope you lot enjoyed the race as much as I did!

With the way he was riding today it wouldn't at all be surprising if he reeled off 10 straight wins. It's a track he's good at sure but the speed difference was insane as was the fact he was running much faster than the guys on the podiu' but appeared to have no tyre issues like they did.

We've also seen guys do exactly what Marquez did at the start and not be penalised. Again it comes down to consistency, hell we've seen guys been pushed to help them restart the bike on the grid and not get a penalty.

Apparently Lorenzo pulled off track on lap 10 to sign some Ducati memorabilia for some fans before rejoining the race. What a nice chap.

I love how reddit is justifying Zarco's move as clean racing while MM was malevolent. I think MM was over the line and deserved to be black flagged but Zarco deserved as penalty as well. Both riders are my favorite in the paddock right now but I don't try to deny the obvious

I think Zarco was overly aggressive, but he was racing against someone with similar pace and clipped him from the side, the actual crash happened because Pedro hit a wet patch.
(I am glad Pedro is ok, that was a nasty highside).

Marquez took unnecessary risks against people who were backmarkers compared to his pace and straight up T boned two of them. I guess that’s the difference.

That said, I wouldn’t have been surprised if Zarco was penalized as well.

If you are referring to the Pedrosa incident the bikes didn't even touch. They both ran a bit wide onto the river running round the corner.

If they didn't touch it was only because Pedrosa sat up before they did. Exactly the same move.
