I would say you can count Lorenzo out for the win even if its dry. A banged up left hand/wrist is the last thing you need at this track where healthy left wrist and shoulders can sometimes cause problems because of the layout. Overcast cool days favor the Honda and Sunday is going to be overcast cool even if its not raining. Its hard to say where the Yamahas are at this point, but they struggled a bit in cooler temps this year. It will be sunny tomorrow so Rossi wil probably qualify decently, we will see about Lorenzo. His confidence has to be shattered at the moment, but we have seen this before and he keeps coming back strong.

Well I thought Yamaha was claiming they would be treated equal for the entirety of the season?

They will be treated equally. If anything, J Lo struggling might see more attention directed at him to attempt to figure out his issue(s). If Lorenzo does poorly, it's because HE is doing poorly. There wont be any fingers to point at equipment or team support. He has been through slumps before and turned things around with a win streak. #NoConspiracy

Lorenzo won't get new bits after Brno. Jarvis said that in the press conference when Lorenzo announced he was leaving.

What will be interesting is if he is still within a shout of the championship and Rossi isn't, will they throw bits at him anyway......I doubt it.

Lorenzo is always good in the second half of the season. But I can't see him beating Marquez.

I think we will see Rossi in the top 5 after qualifying. I'd be shocked if he wasn't.

Vinales was strong as was Iannone so we will see if either can put their bike on the front row of the grid. If they can, they will definitely be a favorite since the cool weather should prevent the Ducati from chewing up the tires, and this track looks to be good for the GSX-RR. Still, it is one of MM's best circuits, so he may just be working purely on a race setup, and I'm going with him as the favorite to win.

I don't believe they will be treated equally at all. Lorenzo isn't their future anymore, so there's little to force them to continue supporting him as they have. As Richy mentioned, he won't be getting the newest equipment soon. It has nothing to do with a conspiracy, and more that in spite of what they say publicly, top teams tend to not go all out with a #1 rider/driver they know is leaving because anything they develop has a good chance of being carried over to the new team. Sure they want to win, but not at the expense of a 2017 advantage they might find.

I never count Lorenzo out. There has been too many times that he has struggled then all of a sudden on race day he pulls his disappearing act with a 3-4 second lead on the field.

IMO he just needs to get his confidence back. If he has a better chance of wining the championship than Rossi, I think Yamaha will continue to supply him with new parts. I don't think they're upset with him for leaving.

Good point.

Ducatis, factories and satellites, doing so well in such a slow speed circuit is astonishing and make absolutely no sense, even if it's just FP1 & FP2 and even if we take rain into account. Ok, maybe both AD and AI won't have any trouble finding another newest way to screw up all the potential as usual. don't know whether this will be the case once again, but those times show that the red is a pretty "decent-to-good" bike.

On the other hand, Marquez times are all but brilliant considering the dominance he should have here. If he'll win the championship on such a ...... bike - which I still doubt very highly - it'll be one of the most deserved one ever. Still, would not bet on him sunday. If this was just another Cota/guaranteed MM win, he'd be kicking ... in any session and condition.

Yamahas rain set-up = disgraceful. But usually with such ...... performances, Valentino's mechanincs manage to change the bike upside down succesfully in one day. If it'll rain. If it won't, everything's ok already.

The Ducati can be as fast as any bike for a lap or a handful of laps, but the riders will tell you its very hard to sustain for race distance. Very physical bike to ride and are exhausted by race end.

I don't think by any stretch of the imagination the RCV is a ...... bike. Their biggest problem this year was the spec ECU making it harder for them to solve issues that would easily have been solved with programming in the past. It's a learning curve for them, but as they learn, they will get everything down. It's still a tough bike to ride, but the bike has improved the past few races for the most part. Things were far more dismal in the early part of the season with the acceleration woes being absolutely crippling. It still is an issue given the acceleration woes did cost Marquez what should have been a victory at Mugello. Either way, he's doing well, and I expect him to continue collecting points instead of taking dumb risks trying to chase race victories that aren't there.

He always struggles at Sachsenring. So I wouldn't say he's being treated unequal just yet. But I will never forget how equally the treated Ben and his mother.

Its not a ...... bike, but at the moment, i cant think of one thing it does better than the Yamaha. Marquez is making up time on the brakes, but that is Marquez's talent doing that, not the bike. Everyone else who takes that approach tosses it down the road. Its getting better every week and if they can just get it close, Marquez will make the difference. The Mugello lose was a ....... disgrace, Marquez won that race, Honda lost it. Rossi was just better at Catalunya and was trying to bait Marquez into a mistake by giving him hope he could win. Fortunately, after passing Rossi with a couple to go and Rossi repassing him a lap later, he figured it out and backed off for a cool twenty

Not true...

2008- DNF
2009- 2nd
2010- 2nd
2011- 2nd
2012- 2nd
2013- DNS
2014- 3rd
2015- 4th

He has never finished higher than 4th in all races finished. Only one DNF, and 2013 he never ran.

I was going strictly off the fact that he has never won in any class there. I actually didn't realize he had finished so well in all the races.

The wins are elusive, but his overall results having been very good for years, is why I am starting to wonder about the equality.

Condition weren't ideal for him today but I still doubt he is getting equal treatment. I think it will get worse as the season goes. Probably still better than next year though.
