Formula 1 2011 Season

Damn...looks like Red Bull picked up where they left off last season. Anyone know why neither Vettel or Webber used their KERS?

Why so glum!!!

Man, superb start to the season, if I don't like the result.

So many talking points........

Vettel should have had a drive through penalty!

Kers, and the benefit, or not, as Red Bull proved.

Great drives by Hamilton, Petrov and Perez.

Unsporting Ferrari!

Petrov's manager!!!!!!!

DC on the BBC

..... and poor old Michael, I dream on!!!

I caught that too. I realize that is probably a parking lot or something, but F1 tracks shouldn't have all this pavement next to the racing surface. This is supposed to be the "pinnacle" of the entire sport, keep your cars on the track or pay the price!

Melbourne has always been an anticipated ritual for me. The place has a character of its own and is aesthetically pleasing. Now back to the featureless test tracks...

For sure, if Jenson had tarmac on the outside of the corner instead of grass, he could have committed.

.... or indeed, had Vettel had grass outside the track boundary, he'd have been in the wall.

Well i'm surprised that nobody has even mentioned the Chinese GP on here, that was one of the best races i've seen in a long time. It was thrilling and unpredictable from start to finish with some superb performances throughout the grid. Hopefully Mclaren can bring it to RedBull on a regular basis, because the points gap still needs to come down to keep the season tense (I wouldn't be complaining if the right man had the advantage). For me Pirelli have done a brilliant job with the tyres and have brought F1 to life again, i hope this lasts all season rather than just a few races of bedding in. Shout out again to Paul DiResta doing a brilliant job, people have been talking about how talented sutil is for a few years and Paul has come in and matched him right away, get him in a mercedes gp next year please

People have been talking about how talented Sutil is for a few years? Really? To me Sutil looks like a mediocre driver.

Tom I'm with you - racing this season - especially the last 2 Sepang then China has been great ! Tyres sure are making an impact loving see some amazing over taking and drives through the field by certain drivers.

Got to mention Webbers drive from 18th start to finish 3rd - not making qualifying paid off in hindsight having many more tyres for race use, brilliant drive reminded me of Schumi at his peak.

Agree need the McLarens and Ferrari to get on par with RB otherwise SV will run away - he is driving on song.

Best GP season in years to date.

Just got back from Spa and I agree, Vettel has it basically done. Hamilton just isn't driving smart enough at the moment, he's making so many unnesessary errors and costing himself points left right and centre. Without having the best car he'd need a perfect season just to put presure on RBR. Ferrari's car isn't quite consistent enough yet either so Alonso is fairly helpless too. Great races though

dont for get ppl the evil empire has muscled in on f1 from next year

The BBC and Sky Sports will broadcast Formula 1 in the UK between 2012 and 2018 under a new rights deal.

The BBC has been the exclusive broadcaster of F1 in the UK since 2009 but its contract with Formula One Management was due to expire after the 2013 season.

Sky Sports will show every race, qualifying session and practice live.

BBC Sport will broadcast half the races live, as well as the qualifying and practice sessions from those races.

if you want to watch all races live you will have to pay the man big bucks for sky sports.

BBC Will only show half of the races live

-------------------------------------

i'll watch it Free on foreign TV fook ££$$ that

Funny since I posted this above in May I haven't watched a race since - whereas I don't miss a motogp and see nearly every WSB.

Regardless of another thread saying F1 is much better now due to the tyres/KERS etc I just don't have the passion as I once had.

Very unhappy about the whole Sky thing - big bucks knocking around there, the BBC's coverage has been very good (despite the fact that most of the presenters are pillocks - especially Jake Humphrey), and I'm not going to line Murdoch's pockets for the privilege of watching a sport that's always been (and should always be) on terrestrial tv.

Eff Hamilton..... that arrogant and ignorant ........ He said something about because he is black that he gets singled out all the time after his incident at Monaco and being interviewed.

F1 is soo dumb now. It's soo fake and artificial racing..... passes aren't even exciting anymore since it's soo FAKE with what DRS and KERS. It's a joke.

hehe SS56 and some here say motogp should follow more of F1's lead - having been an avid F1 follower since the late 70's what it is today/last 5-8yrs is BS, as I mentioned above its over for me I just can't love/enjoy the artificial circus.
