Great driver.

most people think all F1 drivers, except 1 or 2, are disqualified drivers. The virtual lack of skills is actually lack of opportunities.

Because Haikonen was champion, that means he is the best driver in the world.
<

It's is as Barrichelo says: "Give me a car and I'll be champion".

Indeed. Only a few people can understand the meaning of that phrase. Most will think he is joking or why he was not champion while in Ferrari. These kinda guys knows nothing about racing.

Massa has comitted more .... ups in 2/3 of a season than the champions of the past 10 years did in all the season, he's a mediocre wet weather driver. He can win a championship? of course, Hayden won one, doesn't mean he was the best rider, just had the best car and luck his rivals didn't have.

I wish Kubica could win because Massa is not a worthy champion, Kimi doesn't deserve it this year either, and Hamilton ... well he probably deserves it more than Kimi and Massa but I hate him.
<

Go Alonso!!!!

well, give kimi the benefit of the doubt, but funny still

I don't like Massa at all...the guy complains soo much about other drivers. Even though the guy was fine 10,000 euros for the incident with Adrian Sutil, he still blamed Sutil for it. I also remember reading somewhere that Anthony Davidson said how Massa is always complaining and yappin his mouth during driver meetings.... Davidson went on to say that Massa needs to shut his mouth, or something along those lines.

I hope next year Bruno Senna gets a ride in F1.

TAKUMA SATO #1

Technically it's the Ferrari team's fault, there a rule that specifically says you cannot let go your driver into traffic, this sets a dangerous precedent cause now anyone can launch their driver into the lane and just pay 10000 € if there was someone.IMO they should have taken out the 10 points from the Constructors championship to Ferrari. 10000 € is nothing for a team with a budget in excess of 300M. Friday they fine 10000 € Alonso for stepping on the yellow line in a ....... free practice with no one around and two days later the same for almost creating a crash in the race. No consistency in the calls by the judges.

imo, the fine shouldn't be imposed on massa, but on the team.

Massa's title challenge is gathering lots of steam now, he's right on form. Lewis did a decent enough and Solid job, but Kimi is hanging on now, wont he have a ten place grid drop next time out as well?

Lewis is going to need more wins for sure, Brazil is almost a guarenteed Ferrari 1 - 2 so he needs at least a 4 point lead into the final race!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gui22a @ Aug 25 2008, 03:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>LoL...

So, Hamilton is also in a bad season?

I sad man, Massa is better than Kimmi, Massa is at his best moment, the problem is Ferrari had never support him properly, but this time things will be different. If Ferrari's new engine stops blowing, Massa will be champion, you can write it. Massa, Hamilton and Alonso is all in the same level of drive skills today. You all have to stop criticize Massa, he is doing an incredible season, recovering from a disastrous start. He deserves the championship.
I don't think people have <span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%any reason to criticize Felipe at the moment. He's doing an amazing job, those are the facts! He was dominant last race, and he should have won Hungary as well. If he continues like this, he might win the title, and it would be deserved.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (gui22a @ Aug 25 2008, 03:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>btw, where is Varunica? spot there Varunica, Massa will be champion, like I told you in the past. He was champion in every category he passed and this time won't be different. The man is good, good enough to beat Lewis and Kimi "wanna be champion only 1 time" Haikonen.
I'm still alive, lol

I'm just really busy and I don't have time to post a lot.

Massa has a very good chance to win his maiden title, and yes, I think he's good enough. A few years ago he wasn't, but now..this season, he showed everyone he has matured A LOT! If he wins the title it will be deserved, and I will he happy for the guy. Kimi is just doing a crappy job, there's no other way to put it. The first 5/6 races were good (with the exception of Melbourne), but then, after Monaco he has been doing an average (and sometimes even BAD) job. France was good though, he should have won, and I think he had a chance at victory in Canada as well, but the other races were just TERRIBLE. Raikkonen should improve in qualifying, because Massa TOTALLY OWNS him in that department! I'm not sure Kimi will improve a lot in the last 6 race though, and if Massa beats him in the next 2 races, they maybe should focus on the Brazilian, or else Lewis might run away with the title after all.

Can't wait for SPA!!!!
<

I'm hoping for another Raikkonen win there, but..as long as it's a nice/exciting race I will be happy!

Kimmi was very lucky to win the championship last year. Massa was a little bit of unlucky and Alonso wasn't at home with McLaren and war with Hamilton. This year he has to beat his team mate and Hamilton. Looks like Massa has the consistency in beating Kimmi during qualifying and Ferrari has to support him for the no.1..

At what point will/did Ferrari start giving Massa prefferential treatment in his push for the title? Will it never happen? Or will it wait until he is mathematically out of the running?

Should we expect Kimi to get a 10 place penalty at Spa for another engine failiure?

I think after Ferrari home race, should Massa can outrun Kimmi during Qualifying and nab Hamilton, He will be given the necessary treatment and M Schumacher would agree ... Looks like 2008 is not on Kimmi side..

You don't get a penalty if you DNF, you only get a penalty if you decide to change the engine before the 2nd race.

I think Spa is Kimi's last chance, in theory this circuit is better for Kimi, he's done well there in the past, if he get's his ... kicked again that would be one too many, and Massa will be given the n1 status.
Waiting until one of the two is mathematically out is too late, that wont happen until a couple of races to the end.
Kimi's best chance is if rains in Spa.

So they'll race the broken one again? Or the actual problem was on a changable part?

Seems that way yeah..

Well, he has himself to blame most of the time. He NEEDS to improve in quali, maybe he should go for a ''lighter strategy'' so he can score pole, or at least the first row. Spa always suited him, so if he gets beaten by Massa there as well, it might be over.

We'll see..

No it means you have to use the engine for 2 races as long as you don't DNF in the first race. If you DNF you can chose to put in a new engine, and most people will do, only reason to keep your old engine is if the DNF is not engine related and the engine has not much mileage, to better adjust to the season demands, for example Alonso will use his engine from Valencia in Spa because it only did one lap in the race so it's still quite new so he doesn't have to do Spa and Monza in the same engine cycle.
You only get a sanction if you change your engine because you blow it on Saturday or decide to change it because you think it wont make the whole race.

Plus this season they have a get out jail for free card, whih means they are allowed to change engine once in the season without penalty (I don't think anyone has used it so far) Probably they will wait to see if they can leave it for the last race so they can do the last 2 races with 1 race engines (more powerful, the engine freeze is a joke of rule has more loopholes than a dutch cheese)

What a foolish oversight on my part! I forgot that engines last two races, so a failiure in the second of those incurs no penalty, cheers man. Although im under the impression Kimi has used his free engine change.
