LOL!!!!

I wanted to say that too, but I just thought why not let Teo be happy for a moment, it's a hard season for Alonso fans after all.

Well I don't count punctured tyres as bad luck. Lewis destroys his tyres the way he drives, it's just his style, doesn't happen to the other drivers, happens to him often, so I'll count that one as a driver mistake, therefore FA beat him fair and square.

Overtaking in Hungary is certainly very hard, but it happens, Jenson did it to Rubens with equal cars. Kimi had a car 1 second quicker and didn't even try, this lack of agressivity I think was not typical of him. And considering he didn't have knowledge of fuel advantage he should have attacked it was the only way to pass!

Well the last two years rumours have put Alonso in every team of the grid (including McLaren!!!) so I'll take this rumour with caution.
<

Unlike others it does make sense up to a certain point. If it's true that FA already signed up with Ferrari for 2010 he needs a place to spend 2009, and no top team is willing to offer a single year contract, they at least want 2 years.
Honda has made their interest public to take him even just for 1 season and it's well known Ross Brawn always wanted Alonso already when at Ferrari in 2001 (there were talks of signing Alonso but Toadt opposed for some reason).
The biggest problem I see to this deal is that the current Honda is a piece of junk and why would Alonso want to join Honda to drive a car that it's very unlikely will be not very good, when he can stay at Renault where he is comfortable and drive a car that should be no worse.

I think this wont be solved soon, Alonso will wait as long as he can to see how the 2009 cars are shaping up and take the best (sports wise) offer he gets. He's got a contract with Renault for 2009 so IMO unless there is a clear better option (Ferrari or BMW) he will stay at Renault.
If the 2009 Renault appears to be the evolution of this year's shitbox then he might consider a jump to Honda or elsewhere (he can walk away from his Renault contract because there was a performance clause and obviously the car didn't make it)
Ferrari looks difficult, the drivers are under contract for 2009, though there's this rumour Kimi might retire and also there's the possibility Hamilton keeps embarrasing Ferrari drivers and Montezemolo gets fed up fires them and signs a true champion like Alonso.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Franco Fangio @ Aug 4 2008, 07:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>then Alonso gained a place at the start, so he was stuck behind him for a long time.

it was due to the fact that kubica pushed him on the right which made it impossible for kimi to get past him. alonso, being the clever driver, took advantage of these and got past. not really kimi's fault at that moment.

point taken, however, we could have been watching different races as i've been watching an aggressive kimi. regarding not trying to overtake, are you forgetting that it is ALONSO who's in front of him. he (kimi) may have a quicker car but alonso didn't became a two-time champion just to be overtaken by simply because the other driver has a quicker car, as i've said, alonso is a clever guy

Doesn't seem much credit is going to Timo Glock and Toyota. Both drivers had great races. Scoring points and Glocks first career podium and first points since 2004 with Jordan.

I beg to differ otherwise. Maybe he does have a more aggressive driving style, but I don't count last race's puncture as a driver's mistake. He did a good job, and he would have finished 2nd under normal circumstances.

Yes, well done to Jenson. If Kimi saw an opportunity he would have gone for it I think. Fernando is good in defending a position, and Kimi probably didn't want to take unnecessary risks, and he couldn't get close enough. Eventhough I was disappointed. I can kinda understand it, what if it went wrong? Then it would have been ANOTHER terrible result for Raikkonen. No guts no glory..true, but there's no need for risks all the time. In the end he finished in front of Alonso, and because of the problems Lewis and Massa suffered, he gained some points, and that's what matters.

No, don't see that happening. Don't think he will just fire them! Kimi has a contract for next season, and Massa will stay in 2010 as well. If..Kimi decides to stay at Ferrari longer then Alonso cant join Ferrari in 2010 (that's what most of the rumours say). I personally don't think Kimi will stay in F1 after 2009, I hope I'm wrong of course.

Besides Massa blown engine and Hamilton punctured tire, I think this is the most boring F1 race this year so far..

Turkey was far worse in my opinion.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Teomolca @ Aug 4 2008, 01:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Well I don't count punctured tyres as bad luck

The puncture in Hungary was confirmed to have been caused by debry on the circuit, i wouldn't consider that Lewis' fault unless it was big enough to be clearly visable and he drove over whatever it was anyway. Turkey and China last year were both examples of Hamilton's tendancy to punish tyres but this last incident was not the same.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (frosty58 @ Aug 4 2008, 02:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>hey teo what do you think of the possibility that fernando end up at honda?

It'll be a fairly risky move, but it would put him under Ross Brawn and into a team which will embrace him and his calibre. Although it may not lead to a front running opertunity, it will be a decent chance for us brits to compare Jensen Button to a known quantity and see if he is actually any good.

Fernando won't move to Honda any sooner. Renault car is much better than the earth green Honda.Honda is a useless when comes to building F1 car. And it's a shame what Honda has done to the team in comparison to the performance of BAR or Jordan Honda. I bet Eddy Jordan will agree with me and it is not a surprise to see in the future Honda pulling out from F1 and becomes engine supplier only..

Seems pretty boring to me.

Though maybe those plastic bags floating around will liven things up a bit

Valencia is a nice circuit and should grow in time, shame for Alonso and Kimi, very dominant win from Massa who surely will be backed by Ferrari for the rest of the season, pending the controversy in the pits. Hamilton is stretching his champioship lead which he should be pleased about.

Heartbreaking ... must be Karma getting at me for wanting so much Hamilton to DNF. I wasn't even angry at Nakajima ... just very sad. Home GP and DNF in the first lap.

But anyway as Alonso said, let's accumulate all bad luck now so there's none left for next season

Congrats to Massa, I think he's no champion though despite he's beating the crap out of Kimi, I think that's more due to Kimi doing a really bad season than to Massa being that good.

Vettel seemed very impressive at moments.

I'm pleased to see that all drivers praised the circuit, I was quite proud of the work done in my city. Some (mostly envious catalans) have criticized the lack of overtaking, but unfortunately that´s the norm in F1 nowadays, cars have to be fixed, not circuits.

Only thing that IMO needs to be improved is to put tarmac on the boxes entries, cement doesn't hold when the cars accelerate and it just makes tons of dust.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Teomolca @ Aug 24 2008, 05:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Congrats to Massa, I think he's no champion though despite he's beating the crap out of Kimi, I think that's more due to Kimi doing a really bad season than to Massa being that good.

LoL...

So, Hamilton is also in a bad season?

I sad man, Massa is better than Kimmi, Massa is at his best moment, the problem is Ferrari had never support him properly, but this time things will be different. If Ferrari's new engine stops blowing, Massa will be champion, you can write it. Massa, Hamilton and Alonso is all in the same level of drive skills today. You all have to stop criticize Massa, he is doing an incredible season, recovering from a disastrous start. He deserves the championship.

btw, where is Varunica? spot there Varunica, Massa will be champion, like I told you in the past. He was champion in every category he passed and this time won't be different. The man is good, good enough to beat Lewis and Kimi "wanna be champion only 1 time" Haikonen.
