<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (teomolca @ Apr 23 2006, 08:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I think it would be rallying before Gran Turismo cars for Rossi. But that seems like a distant problem.

BTW I think Rossi is not going to F1 because he is a crap F1 driver.

Or his Ferraris Automated auotmatic auto pilot with cruise control failed at that Spanish test

That just proves that F1 cars are very tricky to drive.

It reminds me of Nicky Lauda in 2002 when he said that a monkey could drive nowadays F1 cars with all those electronic aids, the ex-world champion went on to prove his theory by driving around Valencia wih the 2002 Jaguar F1 and he spun in the first corner of the first lap.

Theres nothing funnier than watching arrogant suckers put their feet in their mouthes. At least he had the balls to step up I guess. Certain F1 world champions back down when they`re challenged to put their money where their mouth is, don`t they Fernando?

Just read an article at Crash.net that talked about Rossi's unlikely future at Ferrari Marlboro. What it did mention is there are a lot of rumors in the F1 paddock that Ferrari are interested in placing Rossi in the Ferrari powered Red Bull Racing outfit. I'm not sure how plausable this is but I'm all about rumors. Read the article in its entirety here.

Just read it and i really hope this isnt true.

But it says "Paddock rumours are gathering pace that the Yamaha rider may be on his way to Red Bull Racing next season, particularly if Michael Schumacher decides to extend his stay in the top flight" so whats that mean? if M Schumacher is raceing next season theres a bigger chance of him moveing to Red Bull?

Unless its me reading it wrong lol

What do you all think to the idea of Rossi going the way of Colin McRae or Juha Kankkunen for example and going to the Paris-Dakar Rally?

Not sure, But i think there would be more of a chnace him going for F1 then Rallycross and i dont think he would go that way anyways.

Rossi in the Dakar? Maybe when pigs fly.
<

Rossi likes to sleep and loves to party. He does his job on the weekend and then he's off to party. Dakar is about sacrifice during 3 weeks, Rossi would abandon the first day he doesn't get to sleep.

Teo`s right, the guys damn fast on two wheels or four, but he`s definately a comfort junkie. MAYBE he could tackle the driving/riding (there`s more to the Dakar than being able to go fast) But there`s no way he could sleep in the desert for only a few hours then get up and fly through it from dawn till dusk in the hot Sahara sun, having to fix his own bike if the occassion called for it. He couldn`t do it for a weekend, let alone 3 weeks straight.

ima rossi fan and IF he did go to f1 then id not go to watch f1 as its not my thing blllurrred adverts lol.to much polotics in f1 rule changes every year etc.id miss the moto gp if rossi wasnt in it as i only watch because of him as a loyal fan..
as for the money side of it,i dont think that has anything to do with it really,it helps i admit but they ride for the love of the sport.

Hot news,

Its been announced today that Rossi will not be joing the ranks of Ferrari, now or for the forseeable future.

Micheal Schumacher at Ferrari said it was sad news, but understood that Rossi has unfinished business on 2 wheels.

So there you have it!!

Nice find Dazza, so do you think that Schumacher might stay another year in the Ferrari now at F1 instead of retiring? It's a possibility.

I think Rossi and Schumaker could have made great teammates in another life. They both respect each other so much (Unlike foot-in-mouth Alonso
<
) I would have like to see them on a team together..... But Schumaker couldn`t ride an M1. Such a pity.
<

Too true Richo,

Schumacher is like Rossi both are highly motivated and competitive, Schumacher especially even at his age, there was a rumour linking him to Renault seeing as Alonso is off to Maclaren, but that is highly unlikely, its going to be a close season for them, and now the Ferrari are 95% competitive, I would bet he stays next year and retire with them.

Rossi who knows, Im sure if the desire does wane for him on 2 wheels he may reconsider a move in the future and try and emulate the great John Surtees and win world championships on 4 wheels as well as 2.

Its gotta be good that he is staying now.

I was chuffed when he announced his decision not really surprised though,I just wonder if Rossi was really very serious about the prospect of the switch at all...........couldn't ever see Schumi and Rossi as teammates...Schumacher put on his public face by saying he was saddenned by Rossi's decision not to switch..yeah sure Michael!
<
<

Micky S and Rossi did get along well, that wasnt a public face. Schumaker did a lot to help Rossi and gave him a lot of advice in the Ferarri pit during the tests. Besides, Rossi is/was (who knows?) King of MotoGP, not F1. Even if he did go, Rossi fans should be happy with a podium or win, there`d be no 11-win seasons or 5 world championships for him on 4 wheels
