Great for Nicky. Look, he could always do it, but his head wasn't right with the front end all year. Now you can tell he's got some feeling back with what the bike's doing, he can ride it like he wants. On the tyres thing, anybody get what compounds the two repsol guys were running, did Nicky go for something softer than Dani?

We must have MotoGP back again
<

That was the most exciting race this year and it's not because Rossi won. That was something worth watching.

Another great race.

The Yamaha still looks like it is still lacking the speed (didn't seem like Vale could pass from the draft).

The only way the race could have been better, would have been if Nicky and Casey was battling with Dani and Vale at the very end.

Well, today showed one positive thing about the 800, I guess. Since passing is an ardous task, people fight a lot harder for the position.

Nicky and Melandri put on quite a show. Rossi, Stoner, and Pedro were touching knees as well. It makes every overtaking manuever a nail biter.

I'm still conflicted about this mindless sprinting though. Casey tried to break everyone right out of the holeshot (as usual), then Pedro pushed mindlessly twice. Everyone is straining beyond comprehension to eek out a few tenths. By the time the race is over everyone looks suicidal and frustrated.

Get into formation you weedwacker riding children. If you've got the goods on lap 1, you'll have them on lap 20. No chivalry amongst this new breed of delusional youngins. I guess you can't really fault Casey, he seems to be the only person who can actually sustain the sprint over race distance.

Oh well, most of today's race management strategy is composed of 1's and 0's. Trying to teach an ECU the nuances of a gentlemen's sport is futile.

WELCOME BACK MOTOGP!

Superb race, much better than Catalunya IMO solely because I think the track makes for better racing.

ALL of the races today I saw on TV were superb, apart from F1.

Noticed something too:

When Rossi has a problem and speaks about it, he's whining.

But when Stoner has one, he's simply being honest.

Double standards?

he didnt whine once about a 40million pound tax evasion.. but when his engine blew up in misano he didnt either.. hmm.. not really a whiner..

Of course there are double standards.

Winners win more for winning. Losers lose more for losing.

Whine to the government that you are a weak poor loser = stack of gold (majority rule). Whine to Dorna and the sporting press that you are a pathetic loser = backhanded smack down (rule of the fittest). God bless sport even if I do agree with Rossi.
<
Such a spledid suspension of human decency. Without sport I would probably go insane from all this political correctness going around. Nothing beats taking a whooping, and then laying one down the next go round.

Rossi needs to hit bottom, that way winning will give him the old high.

Brilliant race
<
I'm impressed with both Dani and Vale, aswell as Hayden, great rides.

But best of all... 7th for Checa
<
And 6th in the last race, he's not going down without a fight... doubt he'll get a ride next year, but at least he's starting to get soem good results

great stuff, just shows people "the old geezer still has it"

was a great race but Im sure we'll see stoner walk away with motegi as bridgestone normally runs very well there. I will be at shinjuku station on wednesday to see the riders and bikes, maybe Ill be just sabotage stoner so I dont have to see him win it in person (soley because of my hate for certain members on this forum not stoner)

also as for the people complaining about RdP he didnt crash his engine went at a time when he was quite a few spots ahead of his teammate,

but was equally disappointing seeing tamada san lose the front

It was good to see the 'old' Rossi. Despite not having the straight line speed to overtake you knew he had a move up his sleeve for the last few laps.

Yeah that was me. I noticed after I posted, that I didn't mention it was just a DNF after this race. I don't really like him enough to change it. My bad.

great race.

i've seen a few 'moto gp is getting boring.....' threads around the old t'internet recently and 'PAH - BOLLOCKS' was my usual reply but, today reminded me of what it used to be like.

3 manufacturers, 3 teams, 2 tyre manufactures - all up at the front mixing it and making a race of it. that's the moto gp i love.

it's all very good when your guy is romping away and winning every race by a mile but it's so much more fun to watch when they've gotta fight for it.

great to see Rossi back on top of the podium - he clearly enjoyed that one. Pedrosa was awesome - Casey was never out of the picture and Hayden was un-lucky to have made that small mistake or he would have been up at the front too.

RACE OF THE YEAR IF YOU ASK ME.

it's all a bit futile now tho - Stoner has one hand (and three or four fingers from the second hand) on the title and he bloody well deserves it.

i just hope the next few races are as exciting as that one

bridgtsone and ducati + stoner + bad clutch = 1.7 sec off the lead

bridgtsone and ducati + Caparosso = near last

rider or bike? i think its rider. he is a genius to sort out his clutch problem and adapt to his bike within a few laps.

Wow...excellent excellent race!! As has been said, this is what I was talking about missing when I made the "MotoGP less exciting" thread. THIS is the kind of race that I want to see!! This is MotoGP being exciting! Dani, Casey, or Valentino could have won it and I would have said the same thing.

I think Nicky used up his tires trying to catch the top 3 and once he got there he didn't have enough left to challenge. Oh well, it's still good to see him consistently up there (when people don't wipe him out on the first lap).

Good stuff, I hope the rest of the season is this exciting!

Oh yeah, krazy91. 本当だ!CSCVAW 間違えなくうざい。日本語読めないかな?笑

Dani went for Medium front & rear, same as rossi, I know that.. idk about nicky

Both were on medium front, hard rear - same with Stoner!

Fell asleep just before the 1:25am air time of the race. I saw the live timing intermittently and thought stoner had had a near off early on because he al of a sudden dropped lap times??? ( Maybe this was the clutch ?? ).

Just saw some youtube vids of the race and straight up I can say it was good to see a return to form for Rossi and ...... Today it looked like three Stoners riding ( metaphorically ), I mean by that over the past few races Stoner looks to be the only one trying. Well today Rossi, .... and later Stoner seemed to be pushing ........ at last!! twas a good race.

I really feel for Pederosa ... that guy is impressing me more and more ... he has been pretty good all season and doesn't get the credit he deserves. He was pushing hardest of all three, to me, today!! That slide before the finsih straight just said it all!!.

Lots of whining to be seen for sure!!! ... never notice it coming from the riders though ... but from forum members about the riders LOL

agree with all that except the highlighted bit.

Kevin Magee mentioned prior to the race that they found a crack in the frame of his main bike, which was not helping the chatter issues.

He mentioned they moved over to the number 2 bike in the warm up session.

So I guess he was pretty much behind the 8 ball from the start.

As for the race, I really enjoyed it but I still think Cataluyna was the best so far. I have never been a fan of Dani Pedrosa, but I was cheering for him last night and it was a pity not to see him on the top step. Still well done to Valentino, Dani and Casey.
