Looking at the number of laps, it looks like Haga and Spies are the only ones left with a Q left for SP3

Why doesn't Nieto ride?

Some pretty dissapointing rides by the british guys btw, except for Byrne that is. And Aprilia is back in the game, glad to see that.

Looking at the practice times with race setup, this has all the looks of a Spies runaway. He was consistantly lapping up to 1/2 a second a lap faster than the next fastest guys and doing it like a cyborg for 7-8 laps at a time.

Anyone know what the weather forecast is? Isn't rain predicted? Either way I don't think that anyone is going to run away with it.

Here watching the race at the dutch cafe here on base....oh wait no im just watching live timing cause they can't find the race on their damn sattelite system...looked like a pretty close race between Ben and Max...but then all of a sudden Max fell back 7 secs...what happened?

I noticed that too, I think he was trying to hand second place to Haga

Great win by Spies. Hopper is showing some preliminary signs that he remembers how to ride an sbk.

Does anyone know what happened to Fabrizio? He was on the pace all weekend, but during the race he couldn't get out of the 31's.

Max had what at the time looked like a fuel issue. On the last lap coming out of the Foggy Esses the bike died. He slowed and weaved from side to side, and the bike picked up, and was able to get on the throttle again and finish. He was also able to complete the slow down lap, so it might have been an electrical glitch, which momentarily killed the bike.

Amazing recovery by Laverty, and another great win by Crutchlow. This career plan is working out superbly for the guy. It was a calculated move going to World Supersport, when he was already on the Superbike train and many detractors said it would be a backward step, but he came to the Championship to win the title - and it looks like it'll pay off. I've been impressed with the guy since I first saw him competing in the R6 cup, but I never realised he'd be quite so dominating this year - but there's some way to go yet. Good to see him win on home soil.

Great result for McCoy

Holy ....
<
Just watched my first Superstock 600 race. Damn those boys are crazy. All of them very hungry. That was a really exciting race
<

Yay for McCoy and great result for Veneman who wasn't intimidated by Laverty.
<

And normal programming is being resumed in SBK. Oh and forza Biaggi
<

Well I can't say that they were the most exciting of races but I am happy for Spies.

I hope that Haga is okay. I'm sure he is injured with that crash but hopefully not too badly.

Same with Nakano.

Hopkins sat out the second race. Hopefully he can use the 3 weeks to get closer to 100%.

Good job to Haslem.

Sykes...meh

Oh Toseland was there, maybe checking out some bikes for next year
<
???

The BMWs had a good showing.

SPIES ONLY 14 BACK NOW
<

That was some good racing today,
<
I hope Haga's ok that was a big off!
<
I hope he hasn't cracked his collar bone again.

There where a lot of riders coming off, is the track getting more slippery?

Yeah, could have been something with the sun coming through and the sudden rising of track temperature...

Haga really needs to release his nitro side which seems to lie dormant this season.

The grip at Doni has always been questionable IMO, even following resurfacing a few years back, (don't buy the old wives tale about aviation fuel though). The track temperature was certainly a great deal higher than race 1.

Nakano's highside at the old hairpin was nasty - he appeared to land on his head - and I didn't see him walk away.

Respect to Fabi, have to say it, after giving him so much prolonged .... on here. The guy has bollocks, he showed that when he rode in Moto GP for WCM. Brilliant to see him sliding it out of coppice, and it turn around for race 2.

Congrats to Leon.

Yeah it has hasn't it, I wonder if they are going to do anything about that, before they let the F1 cars go on it!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (mattsteg @ Jun 28 2009, 08:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Damn. Nasty crash by Haga. Fractured vertebrae.
Good God, this is karma for dumping half a sump load of oil on the racing line there last year.

Seriously, that's nasty, and a real ....... for the championship, because there's no way, even given Nori's miraculous recuperative powers, that he'll ride at Brno. We want it to go to the wire, but not through injury or Ben's recent mechanical ill fortune. This was Nori's big chance at the championship, after it was unfairly taken from him in 2000, and I've been hugely impressed by the way he's transformed his formerly loose, late apexing style to suit the mid corner speed of the Ducati. It's more like watching Biaggi or Corser as opposed to the sideways Nori of old. At least we have the likes of Rea, and credit to him, Fabi, to still light up the rear.

Incredible to think, when you recall all those stratospheric highsides on the R7, that he never broke a bone until Miller last year. I'm amazed he got up and walked away today, just as I was when Bayliss split open a bollock and ground away half a digit in a remarkably similar crash at the same corner two years ago.....

But then, he was the hardest man on a motorcycle - period!
