From reports it sounds like the Brits are going to be strong here. We will see who the real deal is with Haga, Spies and Fabi this weekend. I think that we will also see just how good Rea is. Sounds like that have a pretty good bike now. Hopefully it stays dry. Either way this should be one of the most anticipated races of the season.

No chance of that - remember it's Glastonbury weekend.

Like you say, all the Brits should be strong here and I reckon Haslam's the one to watch this time. It's been a few races since his last podium but he's probably done more laps round Donington than the rest of the grid combined.

I can see it being another Crutchlow/Laverty walkover in WSS too.

Did the ten Kate Honda boys in WSS switch suspension too??

Definitely one of the biggest weekends in WSBK this year. BSB top men Camier and Ellison to be joining as well as Andrews who has been doing well all year on a no electronics Kawasaki. Would love to see Chris Walker wild card as well as he is a terror at Donington.

With Rea coming off a win and Shakey a best weekend, they along with Haslam and Sykes will be hungry for results. Spies always doing good and some track experience in the wet here last year should go well. Haga love Donny and is looking to put last years debacle behind him. Fabrizio is on a serious podium roll like no other.

"Yes, after looking over the menu I'd like to order a dry race weekend please".... "what, that's not on the menu?"

On the Spies side of things I just read they are bringing in his old mechanic, probably in hopes of ending his mechanical issues. LINK

Is Rea working on his wet weather setup or what? Did the practice crash set him back? Good to see Hopkins hanging in there.
Haslem, lookout.
Sykes showing everyone that he has the top bike on the grid
<
He is right where he always is at a track he's done a zillion laps around.
Haga sandbagging as usual
Look at all the Brits up there towards the top
<

Spies half a second back on Fabrizio
<

This race is going to be good
<

Fabrizio has pulled the pin. He is riding so much more aggressive than the rest of the field. He may not win or he may crash trying but I think he will be in contention by the end of the season. He just seems to want it more than Haga at this point and Ben is being hampered by poor quality control. This season continues to get more interesting. I love MotoGP but pound for pound World SBK is the best action available in motorsports at any level.

I concede I have been quick to condemn Fabrizio based on previous form, and a contemptious attitude - but you're right, he's shown some real fight this season. Amazing what an 1198 works Ducati can do for your career

It's funny that Fabrizio calls it a 1098 and Haga calls it an 1198

Well it says 1198 on the side.....
<
At any rate, I don't believe the 1198 is the best bike in the field. I still think the Yamaha is the class of the paddock when properly maintained. Ducati is a race team, a race company. Racing is what Ducati is all about. They are extremely consistent. You almost never hear of a Ducati falling victim to mechanical issues(on the track
<
). They are just very dedicated. Look at what they have done to Haga. Haga has always had talent. What he's been missing is consistency. That's what Ducati Corse is all about. Complete professional consistency and focus. To be honest, Fabrizio doesn't fit that mold in my opinion. He's racing very aggressively and seems to care little for Haga's legacy or Ducati's desire to win another World title. He's out for himself and may just end up costing Ducati their championship. He continues to tangle with his teammate and at time looks like he's poised to take them both out.............

It is fun to watch though. I cheer for him because I like his style. He's going to force Haga to step his game up. Ben is pushing, Fabi is pushing, Haga???????remains to be seen.

I've been less than impressed with him too since he came over to WSB.

Nice to see him raise his game like this - he's scored more than any other rider in the last 4 rounds. Just when I was starting to worry he'd go the same way as Lanzi.

I pretty much disagree with just about everything said here. The 1198 is by far teh best bike on the grid. Why do you think that so many teams are sporting them? Why are they leading the constructors championship? Why do they have 0 mechanicals? Why have they turned runner ups into champions? You even said it yourself, "Look what they have done to Haga." I could go on

Saying the Yamaha is the class of the paddock when properly maintained is complete ......... I gues Spies is the only one that can maintain his for about half of the time
<
. None of the other Yamaha riders are close so I guess thier Yamaha sucks ... doesn't it.

Haga was inconsistent not the Yamaha IMO. Now we have a new Yamaha and it's very inconsistent. Haga + new Yamaha does not equal a championship. He's very lucky to be with Ducati.

Should Ducati ask Fabrizio to take a back seat to Haga? He is taking points away from Haga and he is racing him hard sometimes. He hasn't taken him out nor- come close.

Haga is in defense mode now, doesn't seem like he wants to risk it and bin the bike trying to win. He's bleeding points to Spies and Fabrizio little by little each race now, could make it real interesting if he bins it a few times in the future (entirely a possibility).

Hardly.
