You know i finally got to watch the race last night, and as much as we give Sete a hard time on this forum
<
Did anyone else feel sorry for him cause i did
<

(Ok maybe i am just to soft)

well i dont know if i felt sorry for him but it was a tough break. he deserved the second this time

Yeah I felt sorry for him, tis was a tough break, wish he wouldn't shake his head afterwards, its to emotional, he has to get tougher and lose the emotion if he wants to get on a par with Rossi

Felt sorry for him a couple of times this year, I reckon he's got the pace to match Rossi just not the head

to b honest hes the only rider out there who can run with rossi the the whole race,
yes hes got a bad head with little rossis floating around inside but hes got good pace so with a bit of luck hed b pissing 2nd place in the championship but thats
racing 4 yers..

Yep I felt sorry for him
<

He raced hard and had the pace, he just doesnt have the luck and he really did deserve 2nd place.

I know we slate him sometimes, but hes a world class rider.....he just needs some more luck & a better race head. I cant see why he likes leading the race, he should have sat on rossi's wheel and played him at his own game......and look for a week section on the track.

Did he run out of fuel then?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>As he had promised on Sunday, Sete Gibernau spent yesterday’s test at Brno focused on discovering the mystery problem on his RC211V which left him out of fuel on the last lap of a thrilling Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske republiky. Waiting until after the track had re-opened in the afternoon today, he put in a series of laps on board a machine set exactly the same way as when he left the pits before yesterday’s race.

Yep agree gotta feel for the guy but needs to keep his head like everyone else has already stated.

Tough on him, good for Valentino & Cappa!

The only reason I feel sorry for him is because it was a mechanical failure. That is always the worst way to lose a race. He really brought it to Rossi this week, it is a shame that is was a mech problem and not rider error.

I don't feel sorry for Sete. It takes many components to win a race. An entire team, competitive rider, a competitive bike, and a little good luck. Its a shame Sete can't seem to get all powers that be working in his favor. As much as I enjoy watching Sete race, I can't find it in me to feel bad for him. He has a glorious life, a model girlfriend, millions to spend and is doing a job that he is passionate about. Although a win is allusive to him recently, he has many aspects of his life to be happy about. I fell sorry for the poor people that were hit by Katrina... I feel really sorry for them.

voovoo your a tough lady

Hey voovoo time for a bit of perspective aye, this is a motogp forum, if you wanna mention about Katrina you should assess things more clearly just not from an American perspective. While Katrina has been a disaster overall its pretty minor considering the hardships and death that goes on in the rest of the world. Thats the trouble with you Yanks you are to inward focused, Really the only people I feel sorry for is the ones that died and the poor that could not afford to flee, and really there are people the world over doing it tougher. Really the richest country in the world suffering some property damage is bit rich really.

So all can say is pull ya head in a bit aye

Cheers

just remember though that not all yanks think that way. i for one know how lucky we are and i do not feel too bad for the people that lost homes because i know that they all have insurance and such. they can rebuild. now say this happened to a country living in poverty i would feel bad because they cant just simply throw money at a contractor to have them rebuild what they have lost.

Actually Marbles,
I feel bad for all people who suffer from disasters all over the world. Katrina has claimed not only property but lives as well. And yes this is a moto GP forum and when someone asks if I fell sorry for Sete, the answer is still no. The reason I mention Katrina is because the aftermath is still unfolding and many people are still suffering. This disaster hits very close to home for me because I have friends in the area, this is my perspective. Talk about pulling one's head out, who are you to judge me? Inwardly focused? I think not my friend. Please don't lump me into you small ideas of what an American is.

Ok points taken on both sides..

Now lets all spread a little love
<

Now back to the subject..

Thank you!!!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Marbles @ Aug 30 2005, 11:57 PM)<div class='quotemain'>Sorry meatly didn't mean all yanks, however this a MotoGP forum not a troubles of the world forum.
<div align="right<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Again Marbles,
You are correct this is not a troubles of the world forum however the question was raised if we felt bad for Sete. Im sorry if we are not all answering questions to your liking. I feel I did answer the question and also gave a little explanation as to why I didn't feel bad for him. Why you are sensitive about my remarks regarding Katrina? Maybe you should pull your panties out yer arse, they seem to be rubbing you the wrong way.

It always surprises me how such stereotypes are taken as gospel. It’s always the first thing some Europeans tend to throw out to us. I don’t recall any Americans on this site making generalizations at the members of other countries. You can go ahead an believe the image that channels like MTV care to portray of a dysfunctional way of life but you must realize that everyone here is just a different as the population of the rest of the world.
I am not one to let comments bother me but when I read “you Yanks it basically pisses me off. Our country is going through a true tragedy this week and the first thing you say is that it isn’t as bad as Your tragedy. What the hell type of comment is that? A tragedy is a tragedy. It is horrible for all involved no matter where it is.

Sorry for my rant

How did this thread get so off topic?
