I am nothing if not someone that learns from their mistakes, and admits them.
Some people on here seem particularly enamoured of their own mystique - I try never to fall into that category.

Fair play - but why enjoy 'sniping from the sidelines' when you could constructively debate?
Because any previous attempt at constructive debate on here has been an exercise in futility.
Usually it ends up with the anointed few making personal (and rather hurtful, I might add) comments that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject. They don't like it when the subject veers to areas they can't dominate.
As that has been modelled as the way things are done here, I have taken it on board and added my own twist.

Why involve me? - I've never taken that approach to you. As I recall you were correctly in my view called on a spoiler. Further, if you don't like it here then why do you continue to frequent the site? I am perfectly prepared to debate with you constructively and the same goes to Barry. I make the plenty of facetious and barbed comments and I'm not immune to slinging in the odd perhaps unnecessary hurtful comment - I admit that - and if I do offend I will apologise. There are those that intentionally deflect and veer off at tangents such as BM because they are simply incapable of following a rational logical debate.

You have taken an off the cuff statement, ostensibly humorous, and made much, much more of it than was ever meant. You have also, using some form of amateur pop psychology, decided through your instant analysis that I am somehow here to upset your happy little apple cart. I am not.

Mate, yours is the only ego being bruised here. I think you are missing arrabs tong and cheek with his great dry humour. I know this because i have been friends with him for some time and been to races with him and others on both sides of the pond. It may look to some that we fight and ....., but several of us here have known each other for years. Now stick around and after time we will learn your ways and humour as you will learn ours. No I'm really not taking it seriously or personally and I have no time for psychological pseudo babble either. I was just curious that's all.
In all honesty, I hadn't noticed that you were trying to be funny...sorry, maybe it's because you're naturally not and that's why you were having to 'try'.
Fragile ego's? I agree - but I guess there's a ..... in everyones armour - particularly behind so many flimsily constructed online forum persona's. Like Rog says - many of us prefer to step out of internet anonymity and meet up

Nothing wrong with my sense of humor. It's just weird timing on your part. I thought that little spat was over and done with ages ago and couldn't comprehend why you'd come back after such a long time to renew it.
Take what the guys say above and absorb it. We're mostly a friendly bunch here. Maybe as we get to know you better we'll be able to pick up on your subtle sense of humor - which as yet has escaped everyone here. I make the same offer of constructive debate minus the invective. Ball's in your court.
It was good, thanks - too big for slicing easily in one go so we cut it in half - now my daughter can manage something that other than wouldn't look amiss for chocking up my Jeep. It isn't like it's a big deal - It's something I do about every three days...
Off sightseeing Asia for a week tomorrow - HK, Malaysia, Vietnam. So you won't have to put up with me 'trying'.

Look, I agree with you on many of points concerning powerslide. However, this is a community consisting entirely of user generated content. If you disapprove about they way things are discussed, try making a positive contribution yourself (you already do on many occasions). Don't go all passive-aggressive, that's no help to anyone. What's next, logging in once every 6 months, posting something like 'Wow, this place is still total ....!' and then dissappearing again? You'll just have to stick with it, accept that not everybody can or wants to have good, reasonable debates all the time on all subjects. If you feel that those debates get buried by all the ........, it's up to you to contribute quality posts rather than getting suckered into the BS.
Perhaps some useful tips, not meant in anyway condescending: 1) you don't have to read everyone's posts, 2) you don't have to reply to anything, 3) you don't have to take anybody seriously. These three things are in fact priveleges you may wish to grant to others. It's up to you.

It is of really no concern to me whether you are 'trying' or not - you'll be in similar company with many here.
That's a hell of a lot to take in over a week. My daughter took two months for the E.Asian leg of the journey out to cover similar ground last year. Have a wonderful time.
