Continuous Rossi media attention

I've seen some old vids, they were truely spectacular. I love watching Schwantz ride.

ps how silly would it look if Danny, Nicky, Marco or any of the others tried celebrating the way Rossi does?

I don't think so RGV....those antics have been going on since he raced 125's and 250's...remember the outhouse incident....and the blow-up doll....he wasn't half the legend he is now back then and he still did it.....its what makes Rossi so entertaining....
Also.....there is a ton of similarity between Rossi and Schwantz....remember Kev's monkey wheelies, celebrating 6th place.....(with Rainey in 7th)..he didn't care about better riders...he was havin fun...

Well look at the media spin against Pedrosa already.

Poor kid. It's his first 500cc championship and he obviously takes it seriously. He's up against a 7 times world champion who has much sunshine blown up his arse by the media and such a huge following yet he's supposed to be able to compete with him on personality!

Give him a break. Let him do his talking on the track and stop succumbing to the Rossi media machine that he's the only crazy, flamboyant character there. Yes Rossi is incredibly talented but he is also an egotistical showoff. It's easy to be mad and crazy when every mad and crazy thing you do is greeted with criticism free adulation.

i think at times we all to crap... cant we just watch the best race and applaud a genius and those trying just as hard to compete...
if rainey, and co r legends then rossi is now.. its a easy as that to say...

I got ya Payne, but consider it this way. Most Pedrosa critics...(myself included to be fair) aren't asking a guy like Pedrosa to be flamboyant and over the top, doing burnouts in the pit garages, but people could probably connect with him a bit better if he seemed happy to be there.....
Half the reason Rossi is so big in the media is due to his antics and half is due to his extraordinary riding ablility......Pedrosa has to do more than walk away with a trophy with a smug look to grab the media attention. With that in mind, it helps explain the media circus around Rossi...if he simply blended into the background....like most of the other riders....no one would really stand out and the coverage would be a little less bias. Me thinks....

Agreed. Like I said, it`s trademark Rossi.

Speaking of crazy antics, anyone hear about the time Sheene burnt down a toilet block at some track (can`t remember which one) so the owners had to rebuild it for next year, because it was apparently so ...... and old? Rossi eat your heart out

But who will that rider be? Could be Danny we'll have to wait and see but until then Rossi will carry on with his celebrations.

A world champion is a world champion after all. Honestly sometimes I do enjoy watching Rossi celebrate his win, doing crazy stuff and all. But my fav rider would still be Dani Pedrosa. He's got a lot of potential. I guess I'm a fan who doesn't get affected so much by the entertainment value the rider has to offer. I would prefer to separate that two things altogether.

I think back in those days the riders had to use them too. But I can understand why you Brits could admire that. I`m sure if you lot saw Rossi walking towards the infamous Donny campsite cubicles with a can of fuel and a box of matches you`d be cheering louder than when the guy wins a race

Super Sheene! I remember when Kevin Schwantz used to throw his crash helmet to the crowd. Imagine catching one of his (all sweaty, I know)!

He was so happy once that he threw his helmet, his left glove and his right one, he was so desperate to celebrate.

I thought of riders doing that. I thought it would be cool. Then I though one Kilo of helmet flying through the air probly isn`t the safest thing...
