Bye Bye Indy 2016

Super Speedway tracks suck for motorcycles.
If they gave Indy a try, why not give Daytona a try ? That way I only have to walk across the street to finally see a Motogp race.

I used to live in Daytona. Still own a house in Deland. Don't think you'll see a race in Daytona obviously. I agree, super speedway road course suck.

That kinda sucks. My buddies and I drive from Ontario Canada down to Indy. Now we have to look into flying to Austin to see a GP race... This is going to get expensive.

Was handy having a race with in a five cycle ride.. Might have a 20 plus ride to Austin next year..

Chile just got added on for 5 years 2016-2020

Now we have 18 confirmed races for 2016
and still missing Jerez and Indy from this year

Roadracing in Canada lol , maybe Ice racing

Calendar changes

The 2016 season will see the addition of the Chilean Grand Prix to the series' schedule, with the race to be held at the Autódromo Internacional de Codegua in Codegua,
and the return of the Austrian Grand Prix to the series' schedule after 19 years absence.
The race will be held at the Red Bull Ring, which was the venue of the last Austrian Grand Prix, when the track was called A1 Ring.

4 24/04 Spain Jerez de la Frontera *
5 08/05 France Le Mans
6 22/05 Italy Mugello
7 05/06 Catalunya Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
8 26/06 Netherlands TT Assen
9 10/07 Germany Sachsenring
10 17/07 Great Britain Silverstone
11 14/08 Austria Red Bull Ring
12 21/08 Czech Republic Brno *
13 11/09 San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini Misano
14 25/09 Aragon MotorLand Aragon

There is never going to be a race in Chile.

Have hope, Perhaps the Chilean round is to be held at Silverstone.

(Sorry Arrabi)

Stop plundering my material.

Anyway, if it does happen I think we should go - and before you say anything, I suggested this prior to backing out of Indy this year. We could see if 'Rusty Bucket'wants to join us and drop him off in the middle of the Atacama.

EDIT: I would love to see Le Mans dropped. I appreciate that we need a French round. Used to love Paul Ricard. Imagine the Desmo down the Mistral Straight.

I take it back. They would like to go race in Chile, but there are a lot of obstacles. No one is holding their breath waiting for it to happen.

Nobody? As in people in the paddock? Because it would seem embarrassment to the brass (not that they perceive it in these terms) to make "deals" with venues which appear (sorta) on the calendar but do not materialize. Then again, Brno got done in the nick of time.

I asked our Canadian friend Shovel if there might ever be a race in Canada. Seems our northern friends are too economically savvy for Dorna...perhaps. Maybe they're just happy to be investors. It just seems myopic (speaking as a fan, obviously Dorna are interested in other incentives) to have one sole round on the entire Norther continent (regardless that its just three countries). But S.America seem always willing participants in such "deals". Might we ever see a race in Mexico (they had a failed Wsbk attempt in 93)? How about a return to Brazil, or did the WCup create too many economically prudent watchdog groups.
