Preliminary Provisional schedule came out,
Indy is not on the 2016 calendar.

Hopefully things will change as I Love Indy
 
No, I hope they never go back there.

It's a .... track for anything but the Indy 500.

The layout makes me want to rip my eyes out of my head.

so it's true...bummer.

i was talking to a guy that works for FS1 after the race on Sunday, he told me that indy wasn't happening in 2016. i didn't want to spread rumors incase it wasn't true, but looks like it is.

bummer.

i asked, well wtf? does that mean laguna will be back? he then said "that'll never happen."

1 US race...where else are they gonna have one? .......

You should have posted. What's the point of inside info if you don't share it????

I still think Laguna will come back eventually...one day...many years from now...possibly.

Road Atlanta would be great for motorcycles...

 
Anyone got any info on the track in Austria? Really interested in visiting there, motoGP would be an added bonus.

Countryside is lovely as is the surrounding area. Worth visiting.

Red Bull Ring is a shell of it's original layout; the Osterreichring. Absolutely legendary track. In fairness to Red Bull, Didi wanted to restore the old circuit, but couldn't obtain the permits. With that said, on a bike, the turn 7 thru 8 complex before the main straight is terrifying.

Well, .... me. Just when I was like, hell yeah I'll go next year and party with Little Sparrows friends again.

Double like. Bring it back to Laguna. Indy may be a good place to schmooze but it sucks as a track.
 
Road Atlanta is a GREAT track - but they'd never spend the necessary bucks to bring it up to spec safety-wise and the paddock is pretty shrimpy.
 
Like it or not, Austin is the best venue in the US for GP. The track/paddock isn't in need of improvement to host the event, the city has plenty of amenities and Austin isn't on one coast or the other making it a doable fly away trip for most US fans.

I can drive to Laguna so clearly I'd like to see that event make a return but I just don't think we'll ever see that happen. Way too expensive to make the necessary improvements and I don't think the owners are willing to spend the money. What's their ROI after paying the DORNA fee's and improvement costs? Probably no where near enough to justify the expense.

Indy doesn't need MotoGP. It's a small event for them. Not surprised to see this end.

Super Speedway tracks suck for motorcycles.
If they gave Indy a try, why not give Daytona a try ? That way I only have to walk across the street to finally see a Motogp race.

Road Atlanta would have to spend a ton of money to get FIM qualified. Barber should be the choice if they are actually looking to have another round in the states. One small track change,[ remove back straight kink] and Barber would be AWESOME for GP.
