Bombshell!! Casey Stoner signs with Honda!

It wasn't common knowledge to me. I do distinctly remember him complaining about the LCR crew's lack of faith in his set-up abilities and that they would set the bike up the way they saw fit, even when this went against his wishes. Because he was a young rookie at that time, such a situation did not seem altogether unlikely to me.

Nowhere have I seen claims about Honda spies breaking into his garage, except on this message board. Of course, if you could provide some believable quotation, I would be happy to accept that any such statement was made.

Thanks in advance!

Your asking for .... back from 06 haha. give me a break ! Even is200 who is a mate of his does not deny this.

So I take it the only way you can assert the validity of you claim is be resorting to 'common knowledge' and 'hear-say'. It may be enough for you, it is not for me. Mind you, I will keep an open mind about this, so if anyone could verify the 'Honda spy claims' more convincingly, I would be grateful. For now, they seem like a deliberate manipulation of reality to me.

As i said it was well debated here back in 06. Your more than welcome to go digging if you like. I seem to remember Toby and jules on eurosport talking about it back in the day. As for proving it by providing links ect, well that's just say you're a bit late to the party mate.

Well, as I have said, if it's enough for you, so be it. It's fact for you, it appears to be slander to me.

What I do object to a bit, and I hope your not taking this to much as picking a fight (that's not my intention), is that you claim something as truth, but when asked for any evidence, you tell me to go look for it myself. But maybe I'm being a bit too critical here.

cheers!

Google will pull articles from 2006. Give it a try.

All i know is Stoner is number 11 on the all time win list, with an average season this year, could move up to 6th.. Barring injury, he will more than likely end up 4th all time in victories. Would that make him a legend?

5% out of 101 Top Class Riders with at least one win is 5 Legends!!!

But as I told Jumks my friend, to each his own choice or system! What is not fair is to say 16 is 5% of 320 Riders in All Classes and select only Top Class for rating to put it inside that 5%. In top Class there are only 101 Riders with at least one Win.

Not that Rog needs any defense, and if you spend any time reading my posts regarding Stoner you know where I stand, BUT I do seem to recall something along the lines that Casey said something mysterious was happening to his bike to explain his front end crashes. Its been so long ago and so much .... has happened since then that I don't feel like looking for it, but Rog isn't just dreaming this up. Granted, Rog has been know to dream up .... on occasion, but it usually has been something along the lines of a wet dream involving Valentino.

All Times All Classes, Stoner is more like 23rd, and Lorenzo is one step above (also Capirossi and Pedrosa above):

There Agostini still rules! If you want to Consider Top Class alone, then Rossi kicks butt, and Stoner is 12th:

I dont put much emphasis on the lower classes. There are way to many 125 and 250 guru's who have not done much in GP.

As far as Stoner, you can say he is in 12th, or tied for 11th

So you are stating Rossi is the All Times Best?

I wouldn't say he's the all time best, as I don't buy he is the "Greatest of All Time", certainly one of the all time best since he does have the most wins. But this is not very debatable since of course its a matter of opinion and subjective definition as to who is the "best".

As I've posted earlier, I too remember something along those lines. What I do not remember is any claims by Stoner about Honda sending in people to temper with the bike or tires. As far as that statement is concerned, I belief the burden of prove is on the poster that voiced it that this is in fact true. Of course I understand that he may not be willing to go through the trouble of actually backing this up with something more tangible than he has done so far. That, however, means that to me the statement is nothing more than slander.

Anyway, just so we're clear, is Rog Chopperman? I'm new to posting here, so I don't know.

Perhaps a bit redundant, but I want to make clear that I wasn't trying to personally attack anyone, I was just curious about the value of a statement that I've seen in various forms made by different people at different times, but that to date has seemed like more of a product of imagination than fact to me.

cheers

Don´t mean to be rude compa, you know I care for you much!

Though it was a question directly to Povol, since he was only taking into account Top Class to show Stoner’s 12th. This puts Rossi above all too. Basically what I was asking him was to choose which is his way to measure, and stop leaning towards whichever makes Stoner look better depending on the result he wants to show us.
