Ben Spies to leave Yamaha

Nicky just stated in another interview with Speed that he doesn't want to go to WSBK because it's not elite, but it's convenient of you to call GP WWE while giving credibility to WSBK, especially with some of the things you've said about WSBK.
 
I just never thought Ben Spies could hack it when it comes to the premier league. He just doesn't have the body type for it somehow. I know that sounds weird but, seriously....... he doesn't have that 'racer physique',



Guys like Jorge,Stoner, Pedrosa, just has that look to them that they are racers. Ben looks tall and lanky, and un-coordinated.



You all know what I'm talking about.

Spies to me seems he has more of a physique like Doohan or so. That's how I would imagine a racer to be...kinda like myself only with skill, haha.



Nicky, Pedrosa, and Stoner look like racers alright...for the Tour de France. I saw Nicky's road bike a few years ago at Laguna, and he rides like a 50 CM. I'm closer to a 57/58. These guys are horse jockeys!

I pick up what you are putting down as it makes a certain amount of sense, but isn't Rossi a bit tall and lanky like Spies? Simoncelli for that matter was destined to be great even with his frame.



Spies said all the right things on the way into GP, but I think ultimately the level of competition was a bit of a shock to his system. Not that he can't hack it if he were a #1 on good machinery that suited his style. Even on arguably the best bike on the grid I think he is hamstrung as the #2 rider in how he can setup the bike given how different he is in both build and riding style compared to Jorge. Just doesn't suit him.



Just my suspicions, but I have a feeling that with Yamaha losing the title to Honda and Stoner they have essentially gone ape-.... crazy...doing what ever it takes to get Jorge back to the top...including using Spies as the primary test mule at the expense of any decent result. I just don't buy all the "bad luck" stories...not that many anyway. Convenient cover for the test monkey reality? Dunno.



I think on the right bike, in the right position (#1 rider) with the right kind of support he can post up better results even in the current crop of riders.

....so like valentino rossi? If theres anyone of them who doesnt look like hes a racer its pedrosa, cuz he looks like he is 12
 
MotoGP is for Euro's only. This has been made abundantly clear by the actions of Dorna with Ezpeleta acting as Rossi's manager to negotiate his and Marlboro's move to Yamaha along with the removal of the Rookie rule amongst others.



Spies is not stupid nor is he desperate. He sees that the playing field is not the same for non-euro's and he has more respect for himself than to hang around and beg for scraps. Good on him. I have more respect for a man that walks away from a bad situation then one who sucks it up, bends over and allows themselves to continue to get reamed.

But isn't Spies on a factory yamaha now. Isn't the reason he is leaving is that HE hasn't performed well enough on the best bike on the grid ? Unless we are saying that yamaha have hampered Ben with a greatly inferior product to all the other yamahas on the grid because he isn't from Europe ?

I did say that the playing field is not level when the CEO of the governing body negotiates on behalf of a rider to oust another rider from a factory seat as well as trying to steal the sponsor of that riders current team to pay the salary and entourage costs of the move potentially leaving the former team with no sponsor.



Whether Spies has performed or not is beside the point. The blatant manipulations of Ezpeleta to get Spanish and Italian riders onto the best seats at the expense of other riders is just ........ and how could anyone blame Spies or Stoner walking away from this Circus is beyond me.

Haven't been on here for about 2 weeks and now I know why. Some of you are deaf dumb and blind. Where the .... did I say he was sacked? I clearly said in my first post that he walked away. .... me, ....... brain dead. Curve, zombie alert!
 
Yes Spies hasn't performed as expected, but very few, if none of us know whats going on behind the scenes. It does seem all the non European riders are getting squeezed out, though Edwards just seems happy being part of the group

Further Digger, there are reports on many credible sites that Ezpeleta has been in talks with Rossi, Yamaha and Marlboro. These credible sites are speculating about Ezpeleta trying to get Marlboro to back Rossi's switch to Yamaha because Yamaha can't afford Rossi and his entourage.



So please make the statement that Krop and many others need to take their Tin Foil hats off or just shut the .... up and don't comment. You and others keep getting sucked in by a username. Trying reading first, then try and comprehend and if you are unsuccessful with either then just keep your ignorant comments to your self.
 
Kroppo & the other credible sites are just quoting from the initial reports. Go & read Motomatters piece on where Rossi is going, it's a thorough examination of the sources, not a confirmation.
