I stick with the bbc sport website for my coverage. Its still crap but at least its something. And Parrish is an absolute tool. When ever I can I watch it at a mates purely for the insight Moody and Ryder give. The BBC commentary team are a joke.

Don't feel bad. Was watching in on MotoGP paid site and the whole thing crapped out at the beginning of post race interview.

Ryder is a complete tosser imo. Toby was great but now he has defected to the WTCC. Parrish is a great laugh and a good sport as some other members including Arrab will testify too. Being an ex GP rider he has forgotten more than Ryder knows.

Goatboy? - your thoughts?
"That it is pointless complaining, you are all plebeians & don't have the right to complain about depth or quality of coverage."

Excerpt from the BBC charter.

Although seriously, BBC hates sport since change of management to Mark Thompson. Moto GP is surely next to go to make way for more (insert generic programme genre here). Thank god he's off, but I don't expect it to change.

Toby's still there - lead commentator, covered by Steve Day when he has other commitments. No one has ever doubted Steve Parrish's popularity and general high jinx - but I really can't tolerate such a clown in the commentary box.

The collective technical insight of Moody, Ryder and Spalding is hard to surpass.

Perfect example;

A puff of smoke comes from Rossi's bike and Parrish proclaims with absolute certainty "SPIES HAS GOT ANOTHER MECHANICAL!!! THERE HAS GOT TO BE A TRAITOR IN THE CAMP!!!"

As we all saw the smoke was an overfill on Rossi's bike and it was easy to think it may have been Spies', but theres no place for absurd, unfounded statements such as that. Ridiculous.

I mean seriously, I don't mind Cox as a second commentator, he is generally entertaining but Parrish has got to go in place for someone who actually has a clue.

Parish didn't say anything that plenty of fans across the web have not been saying and to pick cox over Parish

Let me tell you what we Americans have for coverage: S-H-I-T.

I have to ante up the $170.00 (or whatever it is in weak as dollars) to watch anything of value. We get Nick Harris and Gavin Emmett, which is like getting Jesus and Mother Mary compared to the normal American commentators (who also btw, thought it was a Spies mechanical, which actually in the end, it was). So sorry if I don't feel sorry for you not getting some post race interview (which we don't get ever) when your boy snuck onto the podium.

The Beeb's MotoGP guys have somehow grown less irritating over the last year or two. (Still can't stand the Burnicle/Witham dunderheads!) Yea, Spalding is occasionally useful, but the Moody/Ryder banter has become, for the most part, downright boring. I suppose the crux of the issue is that the ES guys are so ....... careful to sidestep any topic that is remotely political. I'd very much welcome some REAL discussion of what makes MGP go' round. Instead we get another round of the cliche' "Nicky's a real tryer!" fluff. As Jumkie's Immortal Absinthe Rant points out, the Politically Correct nature of the sport can be a bit much to take. After predominately listening to ES coverage for the last few years, ANYthing else that's not promptly, terminally toxic represents a welcome change.

From the BBC broadcast: "Alberto Puig needs to run off to the toilet..."

Yes indeed Chopper, but thats a pretty weighty statement of opinion to be making live on the air!

And I pick Cox over Parrish because he has me in fits of giggles ever other weekend. Talking about scalded cats and shot foxes, and riding bikes like they've been stolen. He's got some cracking catchphrases as all good commentators should. Parrish just gurns miserably into his mic. Team him up with someone with genuine insight and that a stellar commentary team right there!

Just watched it back. It was Cox who said it after all. I stand corrected. Still don't like Parish though! ha

I Didnt try the post beeb coverage bad news if it wasnt on as they had suggested

Eurosport i dumped sky yrs ago i've grown not to miss Jules/Toby

i aint watched there coverage for yrs so dont know how it is these days

they do get some stick for there 1 sided views or lack of views on certain topics tweets suggest these days

Toby has moved on with other things maybe he picked up on its not what it was doing commentary for ES

maybe the Jules/Toby thing has just run its course

The Beeb there commentary team yes its not the best but its grown on me over the years they do

some good pre/post stuff too

UK Coverage yes freeview ch301 is limited Theres more options on a sky/freesat box without having to pay a sub

and you get stuff if you know its on like road racing on BBC N.I thats on sky/freesat not freeview

a heads up Wednesday theres BSB & Ulster GP highlights on ITV4 . > 8-10PM

the best thing i ever payed for was a sat kit it gets me loads of free foreign tv

that has motogp wsbk on it

if anyone has a sky box without a subscription and it has the white card in it you get motorstv free on a sky box no subscription needed

loads of bike sport and more on that channel

I gave up with the beebs coverage part way through 2010 when half way through a moto3, sorry 125 race they left (I can't remember the track) 120000 people going mad for an equestrian event in pissing it down England. I swear there were no more than 200 peeps in the grandstand!

The beebs reply to my asking why.

We have to cover all popular sports these days!

.... off!

Hung up!
