Difficult conditions with rain washing away rubber from the track, poor grip etc but yet another significant injury, this time to the most experienced rider in the field, and several other falls. They will eventually need to run the bikes remotely from the pits because there will be no riders left to ride them.

Didn't they trial that in 2007 and it worked well then so why not.

Sorry, to good to resist

Good name for the new bike, but I don't think it deserves the "pig" appellation yet, unlike the GPig10 and GPig11.

I think it needs a "beta 1" after it as it doesn't seem to be a release candidate at this point in time.

I think J4rno has made some valid points....it has been designed with a completely different engine in mind and that must affect handling to a certain degree.

I think i did

or everyone feels like sitting in the garage for most of the session and riding slow if they're on the track

Did you watch it Pinky what the hell was going on?

Stoner didn't even do a lap?

How wet is it?

Once again, it seems now across the board that Rubber is the issue, for Repsol, Ducati and most of Yamaha. Bridgestone is making no effort to provide any sort of decent variation to help sort the 'Heat' issue, now we have more crashes and injuries. Especially when temperatures aren't ideal, Kropo has a great article on Motomatters.

One thing we have always agreed on. As (I think) mr squiggle eloquently argues, another cost saving rule change that doesn't save costs (except for bridgestone I guess) and has unintended consequences. They now have to design the bikes to fit the tyres, and as you say riders are frequently left with no tyre choice which works for them on a given week-end, and in the case of tony elias every week-end. I haven't really seen the sessions at assen except for qualifying, but it would appear there were again at times intermediate conditions with no intermediate tyre.

Hahaha....and guess what. You were the only person to defend him as several other members here realised his response to my banter was completely over the top and unjustifiable and instantly called him on it - so congratulations...once again you are in the minority.

I see you too have stopped to his level (......., cockhead etc etc). The problem as I see it with the Rossi boppers like yourself is that recently many of them have been taking out their obvious frustrations with Vales performance on other members of the forum...can I suggest an anger management course or perhaps a prescription of anti-psychotics rather than lashing out at people who's opinions differ to your own? I see you are still abusing michaelm who is probably the most diplomatic poster on the entire forum - that says a lot about you. You are without doubt the biggest hypocrite here buddy - time to man up and accept that others have just as much right to their opinions as you do...only most of the other posters here are able to accept reality where as you seem to live on Fantasy Island.

To be fair it is not one way between talpa and me.

I hate the fact, that this weekend bridgestone was going to bring more softer tyres, as what they brought was based on last years conditions. But not every team wanted them so they didn't go through with it.

I wonder which team said they didn't want more tyres?

Hmmm... I just googled "11.1.46" and got a very telling result. From the bible of all places. Turns out it's not a software code, it's a bible reference.

Gospel of St John, 11.1-46. It's about Lazarus. Coincidence? Here are a few passages:

After saying this, he told them, ‘Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to awaken him.’ The disciples said to him, ‘Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will be all right.’ Jesus, however, had been speaking about his death, but they thought that he was referring merely to sleep.

This is a clear reference to Rossi's underestimation of the Ducati's problems.

To prove his ability to the unbelievers, he goes to a place of death and orders that the Stoner be taken away.

The crucial passage No. 46 reads 'but some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done'. This is what people used to do before we invented bitching on the internets. And as we now know, the Pharisee has already ruled that his actions were 'completely legal and within the bounds of the rules'.

OK, so in the bible it all took about 80 seconds, but the point is Lazarus walked. The Doctor did his healing act and all was right in the world. Just gotta have a little faith...

yes indeed, and one could also assume that this all was basically inevitable and unforseen by dorna as bridgestones efforts were unsurpassed at the time of the sole supplier coup....

Personally I feel bridgestones history doesn't represent a serious passion for road racing, certainly no where near the rubber makers they displaced, and now it would certainly seem that even though we don't know what the situation would be like if Michelin were the sole supplier, but it certainly couldn't be any worse Than the present lack of effort from bs.

Unfortunately the pirelli rumours also have ceased which may mean that we are stuck with bs, and without a serious prodding from the powers that be I feel nothing will improve.

Unfortunately Bridgestone will remain as the sole tyre supplier of MotoGP until 2014, bring back the tyre war!!

bring back the tyre war!!

I dunno... I used to hate watching riders on the wrong tyres not being able to get anywhere near those on the other tyres. Now it's the same prob for everybody (OK, everybody except Elias), which might be bad for some or even all of the riders on a given weekend but at least us punters don't have to wade through the "it's the tyre" posts anymore.

It would be interesting to see a single tyre competition in which the tyre manufacturer actually listened - and I mean really listened - to rider feedback. As Dennis Noyes reminded us yesterday on Spanish TV, there are more accidents and as a result more injuries now with the 800s and the Bridgestones than with the 500s and I think the 1000s, in spite ofthe bike track improvements which have also been introduced. The initial reasons for making these changes have wound up having no correlation to the actual results. A number of important paddock observers and riders continue to point the finger at the tyres.

At the very least Bridgestone could fess up and start calling the two tyres by their most appropriate monikers: 'hard' and 'harder'.

So...

It's going to be a weird race I think. I hope Stoner takes a good points finish, Randy finally gets a break, Abraham gets a top six and above all that all riders stay safe!

I hope its not flag to flag.

All wet or all dry anything else leaves too much to luck.
