Agree with most of this, it was a racing incident, but you can't have racing incidents every race, something called judgement which Simoncelli appears to completely lack comes into it.

After every crash this year, his fans say "He's young, but fast. He'll grow out of it. He'll learn."

But he doesn't learn. He seems clinically incapable.

He says he has, and he always promises to do better in the future, but I don't think even he believes it. He strikes me as one of those people who completely lack the ability for introspective thought.

Even the usually PC Eurosport guys were making cracks about Sic being "Not the sharpest tool in the shed."

To make things even worse, he doesn't seem particularly sorry for anything either. His 'apology' to Pedrosa was straight out of the PR flack's mouth, and struck me as utterly insincere.

If I were Fausto or a bigwig at HRC, I'd suspend his contract here and now. Enough is enough.

I will count this as a net 14 point gain for stoner as jorge may have beaten him in this race.

I know it's Apples vs. Oranges to some degree, but if you look at the lap times, J-Lo was a little slower than Casey but faster than Dovi. If Sasquatch's aim was less accurate, I think Lorenzo probably would have finished 3rd, cutting the points bleed to 4.

At the end of the day Stoner was always going to win the title

........! on two counts...

1/ You're as contradictory as you and your mate Rob, a typically fickle Valentino bandwagon jumper similarly dedicated to discrediting Stoner as a national sport. Let's remind ourselves, that was the guy who due to the impotency of his arguments and inability to debate, resorted to flinging personal insults at Jum and then conveniently disappeared during the run up to Silverstone - after pledging to be there - but went to ground when it transpired that Jumkie was actually going to cross the pond. Typical yellow anti-climatic ....... tosser. You both maintained at the start of this season that Casey was a spent force and lacked the continuity and consistency to be a title contender wholly ignorant of the innate design flaws of the Ducati and the stubborn, intransigent developmental ethos in Bologna that he had to contend with - and initially hampered your idol.

2/ Dani Pedrosa is out of the equation. As you say he is on the treatment table. Are you suggesting that pre-season you had written off his championship bid.? Show me your post that predicted that Casey was always going to win the title. Don't conveniently revise your opinions when they are entirely contrary to those that you spouted pre season.

Piss off you ....... armchair 'expert'. You do it then you ct. How the .... can you assume to know what was going on underneath him? That race was Jorge's. Yamaha masterfully exploited their historical strength which is a nimble flickable smooth handling bike - and an amenable set up and with the Honda's unable to exert their staightline grunt, Spies M1 majestically glided away from the pack - as Povol say's brilliantly dominant on a cold tyre through enhanced feel. Coupled with this, the way I read it, the late substitution of rear shock on the grid gave Lorenzo perhaps the most emphatic set up advantage we've seen all season.

At Silverstone Nicky stuck in the fastest lap of the race - on a bike that you and your cohorts have deemed 'unrideable' in respect of your hero. Where was the raft of changes on Nicky's side of the garage which have been conveniently prescribed in the Doctors clinic this weekend?

Both quoted for truth.

You have a good supply of angry pills I see.

And there it is, I just knew there would be one or two in the crowd.

In Migs defense, i dont think its as much as he thinks Ben was gifted win, but that he just dislikes Americans. Thats better, right....?

Ther hasnt been much talk about Cal. Who i was rooting for because he seemed comfy with the cold damp conditions. . And i wanted to see him trade with Rossi. Colin also suffered same crap. Cal has had string of bad luck.

Yes , but I am not sure he or his bike were completely unaffected by going down. If he had finished 3rd stoner would have gained 4 points on him rather than 10 (net gain 6 from the simo slam) but if he finished 2nd and stoner 3rd stoner loses 4 points rather than gaining 10 (hence a net gain from the race for stoner of 14). Since I am counting stoner as winning jerez with lorenzo 2nd without the rossi torpedo (net loss 30 points for stoner), I chose best case for jorge, and I actually think he had a strong chance for second as stoner didn't look comfortable at any time and may have chosen not to dice for the sake of his championship.

My basic point is that stoner quite likely lost more from the jerez incident than lorenzo did from the assen one, and should in fact be further ahead.

Great race.

At last for Big Ben's Pies!!! ( But just hold off yet on the movie, "The Boner Jlo and a Big Ben's Pie"!!, just yet won't you at least

Stoner good recovery after what looked like being a "WTF" weekend.

Good ride by Dovi.

Simo, Simo, Simo, SIMO!!!!!!! Can you subscribe calming down drugs for a rider to enhance this guys performance? I'm starting to think he should not be in GP ........ or any motorcycle race
<

What a recovery by Lorenzo!

WOW! Ben Spies properkey arrived yesterday, that was an absolutely superb ride. He had the bike moving beneath him in a way that not only looked spectacular, but oozed total control. That was an impressive win for any rider to get let alone a first time winner in only his second year in the class. It was very nice to see him get the congratulations he deserved from his peers as he circulated the cooling down lap.

Stoner rode a solid race and did just what he had to do to beat Dovi, he was never going to get Spies so good on him for giving it a go early on and then doing the right thing. Rossi had a good ride, although 4th was realistically a 6th or 7th on pace had things not happened to others. I know that doesn't mean anything because a result is what it is, but for the sake of judging where Rossi currently stands it does matter. The important thing is, they new bike at position zero doesn't appear to be any kind of strep back from the bike he's ditched. Now he's at the beggining of a development cycle, on a bike that he's actually motivated enough to bother riding i expect faster progress toward the front. Good news for Ducati, their move seems to have paid off.

Cal obviously had some problems but did well to turn some heads yet again, proving that he is worthy of the motogp class. He's quick, he's gritty and i'd like to think there's plenty more left in him yet. GO CAL!!

Lorenzo did brilliantly to stay cool and come back as far as he did in the race, he was on fire and sweeping past the others like they were standing still. I think Yamaha might have lost a 1-2.

Simocelli... Well he doesn't surprise me anymore, but its very frustrating to watch such a brilliant rider throw away not only potential results for he and his team, but all the entertainment he brings us when he stays on his bike. I think it was a racing incident, but how many does he have to have??? 4 crashes in 7 races and 2 people taken out, BAD numbers Marco.

Stoner is more than a win ahead, Jorge/Yamaha needs to do something special to get that back, and before the summer break.

great ride by spies, very happy to see him win his first race
<
whats up with curve linking spies to texas?thought he was from memphis ,at least thats what hofman has said.

its about time to suspend simoncelli.i was getting ready for a real assen classic involving spies, lorenzo and maybe even sic himself, but mr afro pubes decided to take another race away from me.

funny, aoyama has scored much more points than sic so far...

Spies, what a guy, totally destroyed it yesterday. Rest of the race was a bit processional though. Simo....................... I love this guy but am seriously beginning to worry aboot him, it's time for the rookie mistakes tae stop, he's a fast guy on probably the best bike, and his achievements so far are to try an tak the Scud nickname fae Elias. Personally, I think he should be Patriot, his accuracy at taking oot rivals is stunning, he must hae stoner on his radar soon, cannae wait for the greetin match after that one!

Rossi....well the jury is still oot on the gp11.1, but he looks like he gives a .... again which is nice.

Pete

How come when Spies takes off into the distance in a processional race there is no where near the amount of, Boring, Snooze Fest, GP is worse than F1 comments that we get when it's Pedrosa, Lorenzo, or Stoner doing it?? I'm very happy for Spies, great race he had no competition and deserved the win hands down. But the same is true when the other 3 do it.

Curve- I think after every race this year your comments have been along the "zzzzzzzz" lines, and today your singing the Yellow Rose of Texas...

Yep the race was boring as ...., but it wasnae a boring as .... Spaniard or Crim that won it

what determines whether a race is boring or not depends on who wins. if its stoner, pedro or horhey, then its boring

if its anyone else then its a great race. yesterdays race was exciting for spies fan and lorenzo fans who saw him recover valuable points. and even if rossi rides off into the distance it'll be one of the best races of all time... lol

what can u do, some people

Yes it was boring, probably the worst all season, but most are stoked for Ben, thus concealing much......and many are probably in denial at the abysmal state of the racing, and a 1st win for a very popular rider helps to gloss over the True predicament motogp faces.....

Gp is suffering at the moment with such a thin grid, and its worse than ever because its been so thin at the front in the last few races. With Rossi struggling, Dani injured and Simocelli not managing to finish any races we have 3 of the top 5 riders out of the running almost instantly, thats before Marco takes someone down with him!! Things are looking up though, Dani will be back next week, i think we can expect a bit more progress from Rossi and his new Ducati, and Marco cannot go on like this. Plus we can all hope Ben gets on a roll now and raises himself to top level status.

Well it goes without saying that wins by popular riders are more popular regardless of the way they are won. But more than anything i think most fans of the sport are unanimous in being pleased to see such a superb ride from Ben to take his first win. First wins are always more exciting, and we may be in the process of welcoming another rider to the top ranks of motogp. If he's doing this regularly i'm sure the initial excitement will wear off for all but his biggest fans, but that is to be expected.

Great race.

What a recovery by Lorenzo!

Good point. In all the (deserved) hub bub over the the win by Spies, Lorenzo's ride was overlooked.

Never a guy I've associated with natural charm or charisma - he's been looking progressively more

gloomy at every race this season. I prefer to avoid expressions like "broken man" etc, but he's not

his old self by any means. His resentment against Senor Tumbleweed is undoubtedly growing.

Lets hope he doesn't do anything rash, payback-wise.
<

Simo ‘IS A FUCKEN LEGEND’!!! He’s the henchmen of Assen and Lorenzo was the same at Silverstone (on himself hehee) so the season is just going to go from bad to a catastrophe for Lorenzo, Stoner was not himself at Assen but Spies was a legend and congratulations to him!!! There was him and sunshine between 2nd and 3rd!!!
