After looking at race analysis and that video, the incident had no bearing on Spies dominating win. He was the fastest from the drop of the flag and if Stoner lost anything due to the accident, it was at most a 1/2 second. The next few laps after the wreck is when he won the race, he was smoking everyone on cold tires, plus he set fastest lap after the tires warmed up.Good job.

Thankfully the Dutch are not a vindictive people. If they were, they would have played the wrong national anthem. The Canadians are vindictive people. They flew our flag upside down after we accidentally flew their flag upside down during the world series. Flying the US flag upside down was to Canadians what 9/11 was to Al Qaeda.

I'm still interested to see what happens if an American wins in Spain.

The highlighted part for me is the big revelation. Tentative start on cold tires has been a problem for him, and I wonder if there was a break through?

Seems like it. He was consistently faster than Lorenzo all weekend.

Beginning of the weekend - I was thinking Yamaha "found" something,

but were that the case - they'd have shared it with Lorenzo.



Anyhoo... Stoner will be back at the front at Laguna. Gotta love Ben's chances

for a podium there tho.

Yea, i wasnt insinuating that Stoner had said anything different. Since i didnt get to see the race, it was for my own piece of mind to state that the wreck didnt determine the outcome. I didnt want to listen to someone say, yea, he won a race but, if it hadnt been for the wreck blah blah.That was a straight up win on a dry track.

Am I Pinky? I like most of his comments actually. You know I do not like blatant Rossi worshipers and light headed guys who cheer the riders knocking down other riders just because they do not like the knocked down rider.



I saw Ducati manger giving Rossi big hug when he came back to the garage. 4th but 30 seconds off the pace. Did he deserve the hug? They must use this race as practice session for Mugello. Or, maybe Rossi is his boss and cannot say anything against to him.

they probably did it just did not work for him.

Oh man, you should hear how loud in crying right now. so gutted i cant join you guys. the visa application is such a hassle, plus some personal stuffs took my budget away.

anyway, sniff, i am still not sure next year, but 2013 is looking promising esp with texas. but man, sometimes i dont wanna read the laguna gp planning thread. breaks my heart.

Yep, Ben was strong at Laguna last year till he over cooked a corner late. At that time, he was closing in pretty fast on Rossi for 4th and was pacing faster than Stoner in 3rd. Dont think he would have caught Stoner , but it would have been close.

hi mate and welcome. i think its about public perception. rossi and co really know 30 seconds behind is really a ...... result. but for their die hard fans, they can say at least we got 4th and no one really cares....



when in reality rossi would rather be say 7th and be 5 seconds behind than the result he got today
