On the 800's yes, I agree, electronic racing has almost killed MotoGP for me, but we already have a thread on that.

Well yea, i'll get stuck into that thread. I can't think of anyone ahead of Nicky in the points now who wouldn't be there on a 990 or on the new 1000's in my opinion.

Well thats why we have this board so we can voice our opinions.

Wet FP2 - Who the hell are these Ducati riders, and what are they doing in the top 3?

Well done Hayden & Melandri

I hate to say and I'll be happy to see just any anyone in front of horegay, but Moaner and Hayden often shine in practise and do nothing in the race

Haystack's problem is that he doesn't improve over the course of the weekend as much as the other riders.

Stoner usually doens't find huge chunks of time either, but often (at least in the past) starts the weekend at the front.

Has Pedrosa's fear of water returned?

Agreed they both, stoner especially, seem to put down a scorcher or two but they cannot maintain the pace full race distance. And it seems they must be extra cautious for the opening few laps.

I think you answered your own question with the first word of your post.

Hayden was 2nd in the dry (I think) FP1 session.

I guess It's just hard to believe he might have a good weekend. He was steadily improving over the first half of the year, but the last 4 races or so have seen a return to mid-pack mediocrity. I'm slightly ashamed to say that it's getting harder and harder to keep the faith....

Yeah, after typing I realized he was quick in dry, but not sure what to make of that short session. I'm keeping the faith, as we have some stability at very least with a two year deal. But I don't ever expect him to be allowed to beat his teammate.

I'll be there tomorrow. I live about an hour from Alcaniz and will be making the ride tomorrow, and head back for Sunday. TVE has coverage of all the sessions throughout the weekend and hence my up to date weather knowledge! But the weather that falls here where I live makes it's way to Alcaniz. I can report that it has been raining until an hour ago, and has just broken up in to blue skies with nice sunshine. Should be quite a bit drier for tomorrow.

Cool. Take some pics and post please.

I like how Nicky rides in the wet, he deffinently rides balls out when there's water on the ground. Vermy was the only other rider I think is super comfortable pushing on a wet track. Lol, I've actually been hoping for a wet race this season, haven't had a true wet race all year...

As usual (perhaps even more so) FP1 and FP2 on a Friday don't mean much.

I was watching this morning riders were hardly going out in the rain as the

word is it's not expected to rain on race day - so Friday practice really has

no value. Plus... and this is just a hunch - I think under the circumstances

everyone is that much more motivated to save their engines until they really

need them. I think Spies only bothered with 3 laps.

Nobody would be happier than me (except maybe a certain Mexican) if this

turned out to be Nicky's magic track. But I ain't holding my breath.

Yeah, riders often have varying goals for FP1 sessions, the success of which don't always align with setting a blistering lap. For example, Rossi often rides weird lines in FP1 to test passing opportunities.

It's a breezy moonlight with scattered cloud night. Should be around 21 C for a high tomorrow, perfect riding temperature. I'll try and have some pics up for you sometime in the evening.

Nicky's pace in the rain looked good. I know practices doesn't mean ...., but if that's what it takes for Nicky to look good, then I', praying for RAIN!
