It amazes me that some on here thinks KTM should move on from Brad 😄
Who has done better than him on that bike?

I know I have nationality bias, but come on people. Give yourselves an uppercut.
He is obviously better than anyone else they have had so far, and they probably should start showing some loyalty to their riders, they acquire all this talent from the strong teams in the junior classes then send them to Tech 3 /Gasgas where several have not exactly thrived.

Binder is a good rider and an admirable bloke, the question is whether he is as good a bet going forward as Acosta or MM, if the latter wants a KTM factory ride. Acosta is obviously rightly going to get Jack Miller’s seat, even if he doesn’t look that good, which seems highly unlikely after pre-season testing, other teams will blame the KTM bike and take him anyway otherwise.

So where does that leave Bastiannini ?

However Brad might be thinking of a move himself, either chase the money or get a Ducati

One person's guess, not based on inside info. None the less its probably a good guess

I wasn't suggesting that KTM get rid of him all together, just drop him down to tech3 if they have the opportunity to sign a proven race winner and championship contender. To date, Brad is the best rider they will have to wonder what some more proven talent could do on their bike. Is 1 one race win and 1 sprint win enough for KTM if they had the opportunity to sign Marquez, Martin, Quartararo etc.

I was hoping he would look somewhere else during 2022, but then KTM made a big step up last year, so I guess we'll have to see how it goes this year. Although, it seems that he is firmly rooted in the the KTM system. He loves them and they love him.
BTW, I don't think Fabio or Marc will do that much better than him on that bike. I think their "superstar" status are clouding peoples' judgement a bit

I agree on Fabio. He's closer to Mir than Bagnaia, and I don't rate Bagnaia much at all. Marquez, however. It's hard to say he will not do well any any bike that currently is not a honda or a Yamaha.
But let's watch this season, and see if the past 3 seasons have had an ongoing effect on his peak performance. Marc is still the Mark as far as I am concerned. No rider on current grid has anything near his natural ability.

I agree. I'm not denying that they are both great. I just don't think that bringing MM to KTM is suddenly going to give them race win after race win.

KTM are very near having the bike. Last piece is the rider to deliver the title. I don't think Brad is the man, Pedro is, but will he gel with it, and produce? I understand Binder came through when KTM were at moto3/2/GP. He was involved in all iterations of KTM chassis philosophy from class to class. Others have struggled previously, notably Zarco.

The challenge is KTM delivering a bike to Pedro Acosta.

I like to keep an eye on the talent KTM has in the lower classes. Ajo has Vietti and Oncu in Moto2. I think Oncu can contend.....if he keeps his head on straight and controls his impulses. Vietti has been an up-and-down kind of rider but with Ajo, he may develop some consistency...maybe.

KTM is problematic for their riders in the junior classes imo. Their programmes are great at identifying talent and the very well run Ajo teams develop said talent very well then they get dumped on the Gasgas/Tech 3 team which is not well run imo and where some have not thrived. Even the factory KTM team may not be the best destination for the likes of Acosta and this new guy if he is similar.

The public is treating Acosta as the next alien. Whether he turns out to be an alien we may not be able to judge this year due to the team he is in, however if he's getting it regularly on the podium then we have our next alien

That list makes no sense :) . Aprilia said they would like a Italian on the bike.
