The Honda contenders have similar times to each other. I’m assuming they are testing separate stuff but perhaps not

According to Mir, they have 2 bikes. A revised version of the 2023 Valencia test bike (I'm guessing updates fairings) and another bike that has a different engine.

Joan Mir: “Different bikes, engines… At the moment I cannot choose”

Marini interviewed too.

Luca Marini: Honda “very good potential” but “KTM looks incredible, Yamaha very fast on straight”

Dumb question alert....I watched a vid on MotoGP.com featuring Honda & Yamaha testing at Sepang. At the end it showed a guy holding Rins' pit board and using a manual timer. Why? When you are measuring in thousandths of a second, what kind of accuracy can you achieve from a manual timer? I'm just curious as I see this often.

Just for the photo perhaps?

Seems to be a big spread between the Honda riders. What on earth is Bradl meaningfully testing 3 seconds off the pace?

At 3 seconds off the pace Bradl can't be doing complete laps, ie not setting a lap time
