Marc Marquez's superbike is presumably not hotted up to WSBK standards due to MotoGP rules

Argentina currently going through a transformation under new leadership, hopefully they will make it through and get the Country back on track.
I work with many Argentinian expats and backpackers. People who are qualified doctors, engineers, dentists etc. Come to Australia and get a job packing fruit or working in warehouses because it's the best opportunity they have. Some of the stories I've heard about their homeland is really heartbreaking. I also hope the country can turn itself around and begin the hard climb into some kind of prosperity.

Beat me to it MB. I can;t find it now, but Crash had some images, included Pol Espargaro on a factory KTM.

Honda's aero updates are looking good, apparently.

First feedback emerges on the 2024 Honda’s new aerodynamics

Bradl told Speedweek about the RC213V's developments: “The aero in general has an effect that is unbelievable.

“This filters a little bit the feeling that the rider has towards the tyres and asphalt.

“This changes the feeling you feel with your hands on the handlebars or on your butt.

“The effect is clearly noticeable, especially in the fast corners.

“We're talking about some surface area on the fairing, at 150 km/h this has a massive impact.

“Aerodynamics are important for everything today: more top speed, better turning, fewer wheelies.”

Acosta looks to be adapting quickly. Though without the whole field out there and test riders testing who knows what it could be hard to know for sure.
Trying to gauge where he is at compared to Marquez in his first year, simply because that’s the only guy recently who was similar age and similar hype.

Day 1 of the first Sepang test in 2013 ended with Marquez at 2.01.201. Pedrosa fastest with 2.01.157 . The lap record at the time held by Lorenzo was 2.00.334

Acosta went 1.59.385. Pedrosa fastest with 1.59.233. The current lap record is 1.57.491. So you could say that Acosta is further behind an old Pedrosa than Marquez was with a prime Pedrosa. Marquez was just under a second off the lap record while Acosta is a shade under 2 seconds. But realistically none of those numbers matter and we won’t know how Acosta is actually going until the end of the Sepang test.

I'd argue that we won't know where anyone is until the first race, but also Acosta in fairness, needs time. He cannot be judged by the first or second race.

Adapting to MotoGP bikes now is harder than it was in the past thanks to the aerodynamics craze. The rookies now practically have to re-learn how to ride because their Moto 2/3 baggage doesn't prepare them well for the shock of riding these monstrosities.

Although Old Pedrosa seems to not have lost too much of his prime days mojo

Thanks for posting, it clear that a lot of effort has been put into aero. The first few races will be interesting to see which bikes have a complete package vs those that have made improvements at the cost of something else
I read that Honda have a new motor which is what I have thought they needed well prior to aero becoming prominent in the last year or two.

Will be interesting to see, Honda have traditionally been rather good at designing and building engines, and have direct F1 experience with aero if they want to go full on.

MM leaving is big time loss of face. I guess. If they thought he wouldn’t leave because of the money it is the second time they have made that mistake, they also seemed to believe Casey Stoner wouldn’t retire with a rumoured 20 million odd dollars on offer either.

He had already purchased all the fishing rods he needs. As a fan I wanted Stoner to continue racing but I also respect his decision to leave as he wasn't enjoying it. It appears that M Marquez is in a similar situation but chose to join a satellite team to see how that option goes

Stefan Bradl sets faster times than Pirro and Crutchlow on both days!! The Honda MUST be getting better.😳
