2019 Sepang - Malaysia

Because the biggest emerging market for motorcycle sales is in the far east, where Valentino Rossi is practically considered a god.

Malaysia seems to be the only parts of the east that gives him such a large fan base. In Thailand the Marquez grandstand was bigger with more 93 fans. Lets hope Indonesia does the same as Thailand. A minimum of 4, of the current top riders would have to not go racing next year for rossi have any chance at the podium much less another title. Dorna is the puppet master and yamaha is the puppet.

And you are thai shemales' ......

How would you know about the thai counting of fans ? You were there, to .... little boys at worst case scenario, shemales medium case scenario, cheap hookers best case scenario

Do you even read yourself ? Puppet master etc...year right duuuude, lets raid Area 51, Bush is a reptilian and Queen Elizabeth the reincarnation of great king solomon

Yeah right.

Anyway, yes Rossi is fading but he is still deserves the right to enjoy another year of cruising around, just like lorenzo did this year.

Because they gave their lives for the sports and still we, as fans, benefited from it, one way or another

So just enjoy and shut the .... up

If you have testosterone blast that makes you want to fight on something why dont you go help the firemen in california or something like this

Anyway you a lost cause .... face

His salary is easily covered by the sponsors...let alone the tee shirts lol and other ...... stuff

Relating his salary to the number of bikes really proves that you must relay on food stamps given how smart you seem to be

Every thread does end up about Rossi and there are no die-hard participating here change all thread topics to Rossi. It's the same small group of people here that do not find anything other than Rossi interesting enough to talk about. You can go back and browse the threads on the first page to see who brings up Rossi into all the discussions... you'll notice it's not a Rossi fan.

Don't need to browse the threads thank you. Been on this forum since 2007 and have witnessed this dynamic for years before you ever came here. I stand by my statement.

To say there are no die-hard fans here is absurd. Rossi hasn't won a race in years and has barely managed a podium in as long a time. Yet you guys still obsess and praise him like he was the second coming. That's the textbook definition of the expression.

^^^ You’re post obviously sucks.
If you knew anything you would also know that if Dorna has pressured Yamaha or others into favouring Rossi for Dorna’s own reasonings, it wouldn’t be the first time.

But man I hate to when people say .... like ‘..... gave their life to the sport.’ As if it wasn’t an act of selfishness that lead them to do so. Athletes don’t sacrifice their body, time etc for the sport. They do it for themselves, for their own egos, wants and ambitions. Athletes and it doesn’t matter which one you want to pick out are selfish. Everything gets pushed to the side for their ambitions. It doesn’t mean they’re always selfish but their pursuit is selfish by nature and to succeed sacrifices have to made and those sacrifices are never only at their own expense.

I hope Yamaha sign Rossi for another two years and the Petronas team outperforms the factory team just to see Yamaha and that rat face Jarvis fail.

Rossi’s salary was just a number thrown out to get a number out there to set an idea for an investment cost. Yamaha spend a lot more than Rossi’s salary on racing and if they aren’t getting the success they should because of Rossi’s place in the team then a more accurate number for the kind of return they would need to see for their investment to make sense is their whole racing budget.

I thought about the sponsors but Yamaha are still making contributions if not to his salary then those that he wants to work with whom otherwise wouldn’t be employed at Yamaha, their accomodation, flights etc. sponsorship doesn’t cover the entire cost of a racing program and to keep someone on who isn’t getting the desired results and hasn’t been for some time now, who’s sabotaged teammates and alienated the guy who’s actually bought you success in the past decade. Unless you are selling more bikes and getting a return on your investment because of the guy who’s sitting on it and not winning than if you had a winner on it then it’s unjustifiable for a company. Otherwise their investment, salaries covered by sponsors or not is poor, winning championships looks good for a manufacturer regardless of who’s riding. An old has-been throwing your brand under the bus for his own inconsistency because he can’t win anymore loses sales, money and face.

The fact you can’t see that makes your true intelligence shine ever so bright.

Quartararo might but I don’t think Morbidelli can over a season. He’s just not that good.

You seems to have alot of knowledge where shemales are concern. But please keep that to yourself.

Now if you were paying attention to the race @ Chang circuit you would have notice the larger 93 fan base. But as usual you & the yellow nation with your heads up your masters ... always misses reality.

The size of the stands for respective riders, while relevant to the sales of tickets for seats, has no bearing on the volume of machines sold.

The fact is that until a south east Asian prospect turns up and starts winning, Rossi will leave a void from a marketing perspective in that region. And Yamaha with its dwindling sales figures globally has leaned heavily on the region as have the other manufacturers.

Racing is primarily a marketing exercise. All other considerations are secondary.

Rossi showed again that he still has it when his bike works. Chocking the yama is so slow on the straights. Lorenzo.......... Zarco should get that ride.

Until I see publication stating his effect on motorcycle sales, I'm calling that pipe dream. After all this was announced a few years back. https://global.yamaha-motor.com/news/2016/1005/collaboration.html

Don't know if this collaboration has started to bare fruit yet.

Both links pertain to a collaboration within the JDM which has seen declining figures year on year. This market is also no longer the focus for growth. Indonesia, Malaysia and the neighbouring countries in the region are.

Lin Jarvis had this to say a few years ago to MCN: "I went to an event in Indonesia with Valentino and Jorge and I’ve never seen anything like it. There were 3500 Yamaha dealers present and it was phenomenal and this year Yamaha Indonesia is planning to sell 2.8m units. Then you have Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines, so clearly South East Asia is key"

“I met a guy in the hotel and he is kind of a semi-fan of MotoGP and he follows a little bit. He was asking what was going on and he asked me about who was riding for us and when I mentioned Jorge and Valentino he said’ oh, Valentino Rossi, he is legendary and amazing’.

If you think Rossi has had no effect on the sales of motorcycles during his career, I would say you are wilfully ignorant. But to each their own I suppose...

Sure, no doubt at all Valentino is important both for ratings for Dorna and for Yamaha’s profile particularly in these emerging economies where their market is now. Mick D who lives in Thailand has testified to this. Whether it will continue for generations who didn’t experience his pomp is another question.

I have no problem with how he is comporting himself currently anyway, and don’t believe Yamaha are currently doing anything detrimental to their other riders in favour of Rossi.

And yet it is others who are apparently over invested emotionally in a MotoGP rider.

This forum alone is proof that Rossi (regardless of how he performs) is the most relevant rider on the grid. Forum threads should be dominated by Marquez or Quartararo, yet every single thread always ends up about Rossi. At this point, Rossi is MotoGP and Yamaha has no incentive to get rid of him.
I am an MM fan, but not nearly to the extent that I was a Stoner fan or Doohan fan, both of whom I was not unhappy to see have totally dominant seasons. With MM I would like to see him challenged, and Viñales and Quartararo at least look to have the raw pace to be competitive with him on their day. My point was that they should have backed him all along as they appear to be backing him now, I don’t particularly care about what Yamaha want to do with Valentino.

Rossi who famously did not seriously start to train until way into his 30s got away with many crashes and no bad injuries until the broken leg. Dovizioso has been racing as long as Rossi and had yet to suffer a really bad injury. Marquez conversely suffered a head injury in his Moto 2 days that nearly cost him his eyesight, and repeatedly damaged his shoulder in a relatively short period of time, which safely negates any theories of a superhuman capacity to avoid injury.

Rossi also hardly crashed during all those years when he suffered no significant injuries. MM crashes frequently. I fully agree he can’t continue to walk away from massive high sides like the one this week-end particularly as he ages, and the shoulder problems are likely a harbinger of that, but in general he has been fairly durable. As for the Willairot thing, sure pure luck he didn’t kill both of them, and no amount of physical training, durability or ability as a faller, limp or otherwise, as the case may be will help if you are going to ride straight into other riders with a high speed differential.

No idea what you're on about. When did I ever say that Dorna didn't pressure Yamaha etc. Are you sure you didn't reply to the wrong post dude???
