Just saw that. Unless Dovi was sand bagging , he is in trouble trying to keep the championship alive. Marc trashed his number 1 bike at the end of Fp4 and had to use back up bike which didn’t have the same set up. Hopefully he won’t go all red mist trying to make up everything in the first corner.

I think the red mist days are gone, he's really grown up this year.

I don't know if quail is all that indicative of race results. How many races has he won against MM when starting from third or fourth. OTOH - Marquez is extra motivated to win at Honda's own personal test track. Gotta say - Dovi looked really relaxed and confident in parc ferme.

He has matured a lot but there is always an "Argentina" possible. I'm wondering if his team will "cut the rope" as they did in 2016 if he manages to secure the title this weekend. It didn't work out so well next race, so hopefully not. Then again, it's usually when Marquez is at his most entertaining.

They certainly shouldn't, as it will make Honda then look a bit Rossiesque and who wants that!

How's that mirror view on Rossi's bike work? They are projecting the rear view footage somehow? Not a mirror as all you'd see is the camera.

That is white man magic.

Marc is a phenomenon. What a season. Congratulations young fella, you are incredible, lifted the level required in MotoGP as never before. He's my GOAT.

He's the best ever. No doubt about it IMO. The records will likely come, he's dominating in an era where the series has set up the rules to stop domination.

SPOILER

I've just read Quartaro has lost his P1 due to having a low pressure in his tyres, outside of legal limits? Wtf?

Im beginning to think I have to call Marky the GOAT now.

But can I still say .... I still prefer Stoners pure talent. Yes he can be the TOAT. But lets face it Markys finally done it for me.

What a talent. To think Marquez has said he will go at least another 10 years, the numbers he could potentially have by then are frightening.
The thing that struck me was the respect shown by the Repsol crew towards Dovi's crash. No cheering despite it handing the title to Marquez, Santi's comments in parc ferme saying how he doesn't like it to finish like that and Marquez also saying how much he wanted Dovi on the podium next to him.

When I look at the teams closeness even with the HRC guys and then watched the video of Marquez in the Honda museum where he was a bit like a kid in a candy store, I'm not so sure he leaves Honda. At least not anytime soon.

I think an interesting thing this year was watching the dependable Dovi making mistakes because of pressure he has never experienced before. It seems to me that Dovi, now with the weight of expectation has had to push harder than ever before to meet that expectation and has been forced into making mistakes. Like we have seen from Stoner, Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Rossi.

Apparently, according to Marquez, when he was laying on the track he'd celebrated to hard and discolated his shoulder.

I would see Stoner as having greatly outridden the intrinsic capability of the bike rather than being mistake prone whilst at Ducati, but while he might have gone close to MM in a single season in his best form no way was he the complete package MM has proven to be. MM seems to be absolutely indomitable.

Great race well done to all the protagonists, especially pleased for Cal, he's doing rather well now. Also Smith, I think if he'd got a full ride next year he would improve a lot, but I'm sure being Aprilia's test rider will help.
