2018 Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana Predictions and Race Chat

It's also on his #2 bike, most definitely not a loose part which was my first thought. Maverick doesn't have it. Yamaha testing early? None of the commentary seem to have noticed. I don't understand how it'll help, certainly at lower speeds, where Yamaha struggle to hook up the rear it ain't going to do much, if it is an aero aid. I'm interested in all your thoughts.

What's this at the rear of Valentino's fairing? Rear aero? Something I've not noticed before.

I have it's on good authority that it's a digital, carbon fiber GPS guided unit that scrapes excrement from the tire that leaks from Rossi's boots when Marquez is coming up from behind.

Because they've had the most to gain from the current aero packages. There again I don't think that will faze MM in the slightest, I expect he'd win the odd race on the Aprilia or KTM at the moment.

Tho logically, as HRC and Duc have the overall best riders and superior packages, they can most afford to lose some slight advantage.

They've had it for a few rounds for wet conditions. It's to reduce the amount of water deflected to the rear tyre.

Ducati and Honda debuted the same idea for the first time here in Valencia.

.

Yes this.

During FP1, whilst it was pouring rain, they were showing slomo close ups of several bikes versions of these. They looked pretty effective.

I think its to stop even more rain getting to the rear tyre, his bike was throwing spray in all directions, more than anyone else.

WTF is Vinales problem!? Doesnt he know hes ruining rossis championship!? Lol.

Thats going to be interesting to see what happens there.

Pretty hard to pick a motm from that qualy, though I expect it will be a while before we see a rider dislocate his shoulder on his first flying lap, get it popped back in and finish in 5th.

Viñales has set himself up very well to finish third in the championship. As long as he doesn’t completely .... up his start he *should* be able to get the two points he needs in Rossi who starts in 16th.

We were at the track yesterday. Conditions were as good as we are going to get. Been a while since I was at a MotoGP race and 10 years since one in Europe. Hanging on the forum here I was wondering if all the yellow horde stuff was exaggeration. Yesterday when Marquez crashed right in front of us, a pair of losers fully decked out in 46 gear stood up and cheered. Couldn’t believe it.

A couple of eventful races so far. Real rain is holding off but it’s supposed to start about now. 45 minutes to the main event..

Right decision. I already thought it was too dangerous after the last crash, and can't see it re-starting.

Rossi may very well have won though as it stood, credit to him from 16th.
