Yeah. I just worry about something more serious, or a collection of less serious injuries that affects his willingness to push. See JL's injuries in 2013 (and his subsequent skittishness in mixed conditions). He's a remarkably resilient kid, but everyone has a tipping point.

For example, I reckon one big element of a prime Rossi's strength used to be that he had never been seriously injured. When he broke his leg in 2010, I think a small part (maybe 0.1%) became a little more cautious. During pre-season testing, he'd dominated the field (and won the first race in Qatar after which he hurt his shoulder in the MX crash). After he returned, Jorge seemed to have the edge.

Don't forget Marc is trained crasher, he controls the situation better than anybody else even after the bike cannot be saved.

True, but there's a limit to how much you can control your trajectory when you're hurtling across the ground (as shown by his latest two crashes).

Look at his latest crash. It was a highsider. People get hurt badly with higsiders. And look at Marc in slow motion. Somersault. Clean separation from bike. No hard impact landing. Man, it is an art!

That was my concern with the race. They don’t highside much now, but people were having big crashes from seemingly minor riding errors in the race conditions.

Agree...but it still hurt his shoulder...

His shoulder was hurt before, and while he was walking away [from a crash someone else would have broken collarbone or even worse] after ten steps he was walking like nothing happened.

Falling off a bike is not a perfectible skill. It's not a thing. Strictly luck of the draw. 99% of his crashes are low sides, that combined with his all round good physical condition makes for a likelihood of walking away without injury.

I disagree. Some fall and complain: I was just a passenger at that point. Now look at Marc, he is in control. Darn, even skiers learn how to fall.

Pure wishful thinking fantasy predicated on the belief that anyone can control the way the bike throws the rider. Absolutely absurd. Anyone who's ever raced will tell you there is no way to control the trajectory of a fall, especially at those kind of speeds. Show me a statement from any pro rider that supports this idea.

No ...., I think all people who have fallen off a bike realize it’s not a controllable event. Some people who have done it a lot may be able to make it look like a controllable event once the speed comes down, but that’s not every time

It may just be talk, but Marquez says the new bike is already ahead of the 18 version. He is putting in these times while keeping in mind not doing any more damage to the shoulder and in considerable pain. They moved up the surgery because he is in so much pain he can’t sleep. He will do Jerez test to gather data , then it’s off to surgery.

If that's the case and he is riding that hampered, the rest of the field might as well admit they're fighting for second again.

I've had a shoulder reconstruction, its hard at first but I was able to return to full training without many issues within 3 months from memory. The difference being that I didn't have access to the level of surgeons or physios that Marquez will have and also a team of people who will push and make sure he does everything right during his rehab.

Case in point: Mugello 2013.

So this horrible Honda is surprisingly fast in hands of Nakagami and Lorenzo. Ducati is the best bike my foot. Why people do not use their own brain for thinking?

People were discussing the 2018 Honda. Naka and JL are riding the 2019 Honda.

Bautista jumped on the GP18 at PI and suddenly was battling for the win the whole race. Dovi has never even been close to challenging for the title (even while his teammate, Stoner, destroyed the field on the Repsol Honda in 2011). The Ducati is a really good bike.
