2014: Weak rider market, + Hayden and Ducati

My irony meter is not working, so it may be me, but.

You post in support Haystack, yet you call him an overachiever with a record of 3 wins in 175 starts. What would be your par mark for Nicky if 3 wins is overachieving.

Not surprised they announced now so they can unload on all the 69 merchandise at home, good luck Nicky maybe you can get lucky and finish in the top 5.

Spies may be good, but I'd be surprised if he is able to crack the top 10 at Indy....

He needs to get re-acquainted with the bike....since as you say, he has barely ridden the bike.....and that includes pre-season testing....he may have an okay result by Sepang if he doesn't crash an injure himself again....

Spies? Crash? No, that guy never crashes. All his crashes were because he was too good for the Yamaha. Just give him a .... bike and a .... team (Pramac, Ducati, PERFECT) and he'll win the rest of the races this season. Don't write him off just yet! I saw him and Casey talking to each other on Twitter a while back this year, Casey probably told him the secret to riding the Ducati, which is to keep it pinned no matter what happens. None of these other guys seem to be confident enough to let the bronco buck underneath them, but the way Spies got the Yamaha to buck, I think he will go well on the Ducati.

Seriously, Spies better not let me down. I bought a hat AND T-shirt at Indy last year. For $5 each. I want my moneys worth damnit.

Hayden was born in Owensboro, KY to a used car dealer. He's a MotoGP world champion.

Overachiever is not meant to be a backhanded compliment in this instance.

Hodor cant even the tell the difference between 'not being offered a new contract' and being 'sacked'.....

Nicky if you had been sacked....you would not be riding for the rest of the season.....starting NOW.....

Your current contract expires at the end of the season, you just are not being offered a new contract with your current employer....you were NOT sacked....

didn't hayden ask for this by choosing a 1 year contract last season? think ryder mentioned something on soup IIRC

Nicky probably begged for a another year back in 2012.....he was given the 1 year contract and now Ducati has decided that 5 years and 8+ bike versions that Nicky was not the way forward for them.......Now the questions are who will get the Factory Ducati ride? and were wil Nicky end up (GPs, WSBK, AMA or back in Kentucky)?

We have to keep in mind that even Capirossi (a multi ducati race winner) was let go after 5 years and 7 wins for them.....so Nicky with his 3 3rd places in 5 years shouldn't be surprised by this outcome......

I suspect the majority of the support for Hayden has 99% to do with the nation of his birth rather than the manner of his riding.

So now we wait for the announcement of Crutchlow to Ducati.

I think they kept Hayden at Ducati for 1 more year to act as as a bridge in the development of the current generation of GP bikes, which next year is not going to be needed because they are designing a new bike anyway. Spies (assuming his health will allow him to actually ride a Ducati) is considered enough for the marketing purposes, but he will not be promoted to the factory team especially if Crutchlow is hired.

Crutchlow should grab that seat while it is there. It's a ....... payday and a half will set him up for many years. At least at Ducati he will have an excuse for not being able to win a race.

I am sure the money would set him up, but would you want to go from the bike Cal is on right now to the Ducati given how they're performing? I'm not sure I'd want to. Then again if that is where the money can be made it might be important for the future, we all need to live and eat etc. I guess.

So if Hayden is out, what is Jumkie going to do?!!!

This should be renamed the Migs Masturbation thread.

When a riders contract is not extended, they are sacked. SBK Planets satirical motto is"where riders go to learn theyve been sacked" meaning their contacts find out first if a rider has not been resigned.

You must not watch the sport too closely because riders are NEVER told they are fired, go home.

Its comical the great lengths you go to find fault with everything Hayden

But not as comical as the lengths you go to when you want to have a pop at people.

Btw, as much as I like kropo's blog, he's been wrong a bunch(Ducati/Honda engine geometries, which I said were 90deg 100% confirmed) and I've seen at least 2 paddock people roll their eyes at him in press conferences/interviews. Sometimes he's getting fed a line...

So, I don't believe nobody wants NH. Perhaps nobody in moto2, but they don't count for much David...

David said the Honda 1000 engine was a V90 on here about a year ago.
