I totally agree, How can you be screwed over when it is you that signs the contract.

Settle yourself in for a 1,600 word essay about how a three time race winner has been screwed over his entire career. Despite being handed factory rides year upon year...

I am ready, beers open .... by my side and waiting for Jum.

well he may have only had 3 vicories, but those were truly hard earned landmark victories.

like in guna 05, where everyone else had the advantage of knowing the track or assen 06 where nothing was handed to him.

in fact, the numbers don't even tell the whole story, hayden almost led as many laps in his career as gp legend troy bayliss.

Also, Red Bull has stayed away from the paddock because they couldn't own the prototypes.

Red Bull make drinks. And sponsor motorsport. They don't race. They use race teams for advertising. Where did you get the info above?

Sadly, I think he's been kept around at Ducati to provide the baseline and the rider-side development history to the new 'managment' team. Dovi is their hope and look how well that's going (good point on the interview footage of Dovi, Jum). Hayden is once again the workhorse.

Lest you think I'm anti-NH:

I was in a tiny little bar in Kuala Lumpur when Rossi slid off and Hayden won the WC. Laughing and shouting SUCK IT - half because the man who'd almost been torpedoed out of the WC took the pressure, while the man challenging didn't...and half because there were about 5 seppos who'd identified themselves as Rossi fans there to annoy.

Annoying Seppo's is a sport in itself ;) I was aiming for semi-pro, but ended up with a broken thesaurus. Ruined my shot at the big time.

Everything points towards the tires being the problem.

Everything points to Ducati's inability to design a bike to work with the tyres. Everyone else has managed to do it.

Forget the tyres, if they were blocks of wood or pencil erasers it wouldn't matter - everyone has to run the same stuff. It is a red herring.

Nicky has more premiere titles than Pedro... just sayin'.

Pedrosa has significantly more wins, podiums, poles and fastest laps. In less races. He has been unlucky, in some respects. He came to his peak while Rossi was still winning and two other up-and-comers were hot to trot. Stoner, Pedrosa and Lorenzo have been burgling points off each other in a manner Hayden wouldn't even have been able to compete in.

Don't forget, when Pedrosa was getting all the good gear from HRC, apparently, he was a rookie. He got one less second place and one less third than the four-year-veteran Champ... And if Rossi hadn't jumped to the unknown, Hayden wouldn't have had a look-in.

Face it, he's never been that good. Bradl/Bautista level good, but lucky when it counted.

A championship with two wins - I'll bet he prayed thanks every night since that Pedro didn't stick that pass at Laguna, otherwise it would have been Pedro with a rookie championship and Hayden as the chump. There was only 37 points between first and fifth place that year. Hayden 252, Rossi 247 (late season charge - 5 wins, a bunch of DNFs - including the crucial one in Valencia), Capirossi 229, Melandri 228, Pedrosa 215. In fact, every rider between Hayden and Pedrosa had better win and podium stats than the Champ...   they were busy taking points off each other - especially Capirossi and Melandri. If Elias hadn't beaten Rossi by .002 in Portugal, he would have won (another) championship. So really, 7 different winners in 2006 was the big helping hand Hayden needed.

Luck plays a big part in winning a GP champ, Hayden had buckets of sparkly, leprechaun cum all over him.

But, every seppo glorifies his name and praises on high his wonderful technique - despite that only delivering a sum total of three wins, five poles and six second places in 10.5 years. Two of his wins were at his fave, home track. The other was  a race that defied the odds - he rode less worse than the rest of the pack. He placed ahead of a Kawasaki and his rookie team-mate. Even Hopkins and Jr beat Rossi on the Camel.

Make up whatever .... you like about him, but his record is about the same as Norick Abe and Darryl Beattie. And that's not high praise.

I like how SOUP reports Hodor may be going to WSBK.....then immediately the Hodor Circle Jerk society kicks itself into full gear to try and keep him in GPs and even on a factory Ducati....

Good lucks to Hodor and his future....hope he succeeds at whatever he does.....in or out of GPs

But Hayden is SUCH a cool guy though.   (sarcasm)

And it makes me feel soooooo good inside my tummy when I sympathize for an underachieving rider.......... cuz it gives me hope, faith, baby unicorns, magical elves who shoots arrows with tips dipped in troll ..... for poison, and a box of those new Cheez itz.

In a nutshell, yes Jumkie's gettin' turned on now cuz I used the word nut......... it makes me feel good, like giving a dollar to a bum knowing damn well he's spending it on booze or crack.  But hey, I patted myself on the back so I feel good.  Real good inside.

BJC the only thing ya left out was the 'he's not worthy'...

You can also cut it, spin it and (ahem), doctor it any way you like but Nicky won the freakin MGP Championship. Pedro heads the loooong list of "better" racers over the decades who haven't managed to fulfill the ultimate goal of motorcycle roadracing. Why denigrate what should be celebrated?

I still celebrate Hayden's WC as it was perfectly fought by him and well deserved. But it is certainly not a reason to keep him in MotoGP or argue about his immense riding capabilities, because currently his riding is very average despite how often he reminds us how hard he and the team are working.

It would be nice to see him spend one more year on Bradl's near-factory RC213V. If Honda really are bringing a V4 to SBK, Nicky can ride a year in GP and then bail to SBK.

If Rossi wasn't worthy of the factory Yamaha seat after his stint at Ducati, then I can see no logic in saying Hayden should be elevated to a near-works Honda.

The longer Nicky stays at Ducati, the less fans he will have. I'm sick of the corporate spiels of "were trying our hardest but" & "we are making small improvements". If he spoke his mind & wasn't getting results then I would still be a fan, but feeding us corporate ........ while not getting results is too much for me. Time to go.

Nicky at best is on the 'KRJR' career path / exit from GPs.....Wins a Title, following year defends disgracefully  the following year,  is kept on second or third rate factory bike out of kindness by Dorna / factory team,  then be kept in GPs but on a crap bike with crap team (or daddy's team).....to then one day no longer be there.....

There are too many young guys in smaller classes or in other racing series that should get a shot at GPs.....so in my view there is no case to keep Hodor on the factory Duke, definitely not on Bradl's bike and not on any new honda or yamaha bike in GPs.....

If Nicky is as smart as the HCJ Society thinks he is then WSBKs should be the only rides he should be considering (or perhaps AMA)...

I'm fairly certain Spies will be on the factory Ducati next season.... Hayden hasn't done jack .... since he won that championship in 2006. He's just wasting a ride. The devlopment on that bike has gotten absolutely nowhere since Hayden was riding it. Lets not forget, prior to Rossi coming to Ducati, Stoner was still able to win 3 races in 2010, equal to Nicky Hayden's entire career. I'm not sure why Hayden is praised so much.
