which rookie on top

Stoner tiene mas huevos que Dani!!!!
Translation...
Stoner has more gots than Dani......

Go Casey!!!! Im not a big fan od Spanish riders....sorry.

Stoner will be top rookie by round 17 because Dani Pedrosa will tire towards the end of the races because he is not strong enough yet I dont think

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (teomolca @ Apr 15 2006, 04:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>But "Dales caña, Dani!" I think is a more accurate tranlation of the feeling.

and what would that translation be???
<

As I allready said Pedrosa will be the rookie of the year. Last year Crashy-Stoner failed in following Dani and I think Dani is more competitive. Just look how fast Stoner droped positions in qatar unlike Dani - he had a bad start he recoveed positions. He is dominated by big names in motogp. Put the two races head to head and choose who performed better.
<

So I say: Dales caña, Dani!!

Like it. Like it a lot

I`ll remember that.

Anyway, back to why Dani is so much better than Crashey.
Dani`s not a weakling, he`s a beefy lil sonofabitch for his size. Anyone who can do 800 situps and 2hour runs each day is what I consider to be strong. His problem is his weight. Because he makes up less of a percentage of the bike + rider total weight than an average rider, he lacks the ability to use his weight. It`s not a strength issue. To put it into perspective let`s say Dani`s 50kg (I`m just estimating) on a 150kg RCV. So he makes up 25 percent of the total weight (200kg to those of you without calculators) Nicky Hayden, on the other hand, is about 70 kg from memory. If he was 25% of the total weight of his bike + rider, he`d be on a 210kg machine. Which might seem average for a big roadbike, but at 300kmph braking hard into a hairpin then throwing the bike down at full lean and hanging off it, 210 kg is a hell of a lot. The fact that his legs are short (his torso is about the same size as the rest of `em) dosent help his starts either. So the point is, Dani struggles on the bike because of his weight, not his strength. He could be Mr Universe, but as long as he weighs in at under 60kg, the RCV`s gonna be a handful.
Next I wanna have a yarn about how well he performs under pressure. Second in his first race where more than 100,000 of his countrymen came to watch his every move. A good start to a season where, as Teo said before the Repsol execs are expecting him to be vice Champion, with an improved result the following year. In comparison, Stoner at PI last year (I love talking about this race, its like salt in the wound) Binned a 250, which is a lot easier to ride than a 990. After so much pre race confidence and pouring .... on Pedrosa, Crashey cracks under pressure and does what he does best: Crash.
All that aside, Dani is a bloody fast 3 time world champ, Stoner has never been a world champ and has a fetish for smashed farings. In case you haven`t noticed, what I`m trying to say is DANI WILL WIPE THE FLOOR WITH STONER!

<span style="font-size:36pt;line-height:100%"DALES CANA, DANI!"

Dani's weight isn't that big an issue Richo. He's worked on his upper body strength over the winter so it don't matter anymore, the only possible concern was stamina over a race distance and I'm not so sure that's such a big deal either. His weight is actually an advantage in many respects, contrary to what's been said before, a lighter rider has a big advantage when braking and to a lesser degree when accelerating. The Spanish fans can put the pressure on their local boys but Dani done real good, when you're under pressure like that, a race can seem to last forever. Same goes for Casey in Qatar, I think pressure may have accelerated any fatique. What I'm saying is I'm not 100% certain that it was just his tyre that lost him the race.

I think for the time being wait and see. As they both get more comfortable in the class I hope they take over from the old brigade. I'm not biased for one or the other like...cough....some people round here
<
It's just great for the series.

Like I've said before it's going to be very close between the two. I like Stoner just a bit more than Pedrosa but I think Pedrosa will come out on top. He had a lot of hype surrounding him to be the next Rossi as well as a lot of question marks when it came to his size and fitness. I for one thought he would struggle to go a race distance without getting exhausted and falling off the pace but so far he has proved me wrong.

He hasn`t fallen off, but he`s fallen back. You`re both right, his stamina does need work, but I`m sure if theres anything they could have done, more training, ect. They would have done it. I think it`ll come with experience

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Katt @ Feb 11 2006, 11:57 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>im only new here .... so excuse me if this post has already been done.

but which rookie do you think will finish on top for 2006?

if vermeulen were riding something better i'd put dibs on him
pedrosa or stoner, is where the arguement lies.

cmon aussie .... im in for stoner
<

<
i reckon on pedrosa

Well if Dani could stay on his bike he would be the top rookie, yesterday Casey proved to be better under real pressure

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (teomolca @ May 1 2006, 12:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Yup, I can't call him Crashey anymore, he's been rock solid!
must agree! he's been awesome so far...... but it's a long season....... pedrosa will be right their too teo

I want rossi to notice crasheys insolence and his loud mouth, then do a gibernau on him and mentally .... him before he becomes a real threat to my nations reputation

My vote would have to be Dani, Just because its the safe money. He is 3times world champ. I would have to agree with Ooost though, Casey seems like a more of a personality, hes deffinately your typical Aussie, very laid back

Caesy is leadin the race for the Rookie title by 8 points from Dani Pedrosa

He didn`t tolerate Biaggi or Gibernau, why should he tolerate this cocky, but potentially threatening Rookie?

im staying out of this one from now on ...had too many arguements over caseys ignorance and cocky attitude with richo ... i give up ...
richo your right and i can't be ...... protecting Stoner anymore
