What a way to lose a championship

I know alot of you guys dont care for oval racing but the IRL offers up some of the best racing and finishes you can find in any series.Yesterday, last race of the season.1and 2 in the points are running 1and 2 in the race and on the last corner of the last lap,the guy second in points but leading the race and 500 yards from taking the title,RUNS OUT OF ...... GAS,or Ethanol and loses the title.

man, i would not like to be in his garage when he got back. i remember yuichi wi (no hope of spelling that one) ran out of fuel yards from the finish. cost a race ,but to cost a championship really sucks.

I read this earlier and i couldn't believe it how unlucky can you get!

Friend with Marco, but other than that the League sucks. Hate it more than I hate Rossi. It is deadly, and unneeded.

Father works for AGR and Danican't. She is a ..... when she gets out of the car after every session. Complains this, complains that. She blames everyone else, but herself, and most League drivers are the same.

The League has also become the forunner to Nascar. The next level from racing in he IRL is Nascar.

Champ Car World Series kick ... and makes all other 4 wheeled racing series look like .....

I watched it, very exciting finish. Must say I'm happy for Dario, he's been knocking on the door for a while now and deserves the title. I just hope he doesn't go to NASCAR, I still can't believe Allemendinger wasted what was a very promising open wheel career for NASCAR for god sake.

I'm not a massive fan of the IRL, I watch the Indy 500 and the odd race but there aren't enough road courses. I like Champ Car, but the racing has been pretty poor this year and the field is looking weaker each year. They should merge imo and bring back CART. But there are differing opinions on this.

I'd like it if they ran on proper courses, but I suppose running on streets is the main attraction to the series.

I am happy for Dario, and he will go to Nascar, for one reason. Money. He has used CC and Nascar before, to get more moeny from Honda. Same reason A$$Jack left CC for Nascar. Red Bull paid him more to race Nascar, over CC. He commited career sucide.

500 is nothing. Means nothing to know one other than League fanatics. CC racing poor. What are you talking about? Best racing in ages. Toronto, Cleveland, Mont Tremblant? Best races in decades. Field will be growing as Newman/Haas/Lanigan looks to three cars. Conquest will field 2 cars, with Trust as a possible co-owner. Jensen Motorsports of the CCAtlantics looks to run a few cars. Merge. I can't say what I think of that, as little children could be reading this. It is not needed. It is impossible as TG cannot come to the understansing that he would loose power.

There have been some good races but overall I'd say its been pretty poor this year compared to previous seasons. I'm looking forward to next year though, I reckon we could see a good fight with Rahal and Doornbos both improving. Maybe Verstappen joining I heard too which is interesting.

As I said, it comes back to the fact that Tony George is a ..... I would love to see them merge, but the ego's involved make it nion impossible. But merging would be the best thing imo. The 500 would be the 500 again, and together OW racing could be a serious rival in the US for NASCAR once again.

Most drivers find her a bad teammate. She is an untalented, and very unattractive, driver. Dan did screw himself when he confronted her. Anyone who confronts the Leagues poster girl is downgraded.

I must admit, I found her spin a strange coincidence just when her teammate was low on fuel..

AGR is full of team orders. Bryan Herta spinning to allow Marco to get win number one. Tony Kanaan to block the cars so Dario could get a podium.

Thats one of the flaws of the safety car, it can be very easily abused. Unfortunately theres no alternative.

I think she showed plenty of promise a couple of years ago, but she seems to have taken her eye off the ball a bit, distracted by the fame. I'm very happy to see a woman fighting it out with the men, but she is very overrated to say she hasn't even won a race yet.

Look at TV coverage. Who is it on? Danicles. Who finishes 11th and gets their face on TV before the winner? Danicles. I hate the IRL for other reason, but that is the reason that makes the League worse than Nascar.
