I feel like I'm in a no win situation replying to this because you will accuse me of being a Fanboy again .... fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck! Oh well ...

I think CV is probably one of the most "naturally" talented riders on the grid! His past results always pointed to him not being an overnight success ... in both the Supersports and Superbikes it took him time to find his feet and be a consistent front runner.

I put in a post some time ago that Gerart Ten Kate reckoned he was a "machine" when it came to providing feedback about the bike! He will thrive as the Suzuki leader! If they are up for it next year watch out ... CV will be near the top of the pack!

You know, I like Chris...............he seems to be totally genuine in all his interviews and I think his results speak for themselves.

i posted it because im impressed with cv and thought he deserved a thread devoted to his achievement. if certain members engineer this thread to hail stoner as the new demi god then i will point and say fanboy

cv is one of those rider who learns methodically but gets it right in the end. a future champ i think, but still a couple of seasons away.

Very impressive, He rode really well in Misano.
Good to see him at the pointy end of the field.

:mole:

He is actually a particularly nice bloke. I have only ever heard him say anything vaguely negative about one rider (dani pedrosa) and this was after a series of very leading questions by a radio interviewer in australia. Like nicky hayden, he never seems to complain about his team or bike (or the track, the weather or the misalignment of the planets etc), unlike many other riders including australian ones.

teken from crash.net as CV looks for 08 title.

By contrast, Vermeulen - who took his debut MotoGP victory in the Le Man rain earlier this year, and will be joined by Loris Capirossi at Suzuki next season - already has one eye on the 2008 championship.
To only be outscored and outplaced by Casey is a huge acheivment and its only a matter of time for their first dry win.

taken from crash.net

"I want to do the best I can for the remainder of the year, but I can't win the championship so my main priority is improving the GSV-R and my own performance so that I will be in a position to challenge for the title next year," said the Australian. "I quite enjoyed Estoril last season and am sure that I can go even better this time out. I have a couple of tracks coming up that I really enjoy so I am expecting to get some more good performances to follow on from the podiums that I have had recently."

Vermeulen currently has the edge on Hopkins in the world championship, with Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa 24 points ahead in third.

You can't go from one win in the wet to a world title

wait a minute.

The 800's have rendered all conventions useless.

CV has been going really well, but HE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO BACK!

Hopper has managed it. Chris will make a huge leap in the right direction if he can get onto the steps this weekend.

As long as suzuki can keep the development of the bike going in the right direction I think Chris can become a big threat for the title next year. He's always shown a lot of maturity as a rider and his results are really starting to shine through. Hopefull he and Loris can work well together developing the bike further and maybe a title is in his grasp in the next few years.

BTW you sound like a fanboy Krusty!

I think Chris is the real deal and the future for Suzuki to win the title. I also think that the one reason that Hopkins went to Kawasaki was because he realized Chris would complete outshine him over time.
Honda will come to realize what a huge mistake to let Chris V go!

Sonner is better than later, its a matter of time before Honda and Yamaha catch up and probably pass Suzuki

I remember Foggy predicting big things for Vermeulen when he moved to Motogp.
I had a dig around in the carsh.net archives to find this article from December 2005.
http://www.crash.net/news_view~cid~6~id~123328.htm

"In my opinion, if you put Vermeulen on the same bike as Rossi in two years time he would beat him. I feel he's that good. I really do rate him, higher than I've rated anyone in a long, long time," 'King Carl' concluded.

I was never a fan of Foggy, but he seems to have called this one right.
