[Quote/]Rossi will now have to take the backseat behind his rival, Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo.

"Our main investment is in Jorge and he is the No.1 candidate to be champion both this year and next year. He is our No.1 rider," said Yamaha MotoGP boss Lin Jarvis."
Rossi goes back to Yamaha with his tail between his legs a bit, clearly having lost the power struggle with Lorenzo. I'm not saying he won't be competitive, but within the Yamah camp how is he going to cope with not being the priority, not calling the shots or being the focus for the development of the bike?

Will he throw his toys out of the pram at some point?

22, what do you want from him? Do you expect him to let you go? Do you expect him to let them take his advantages from him? Don't you know him? Don't you know that that's an impossibility? That that could never happen? That he'd use all his power to keep something like that from happening? Don't you know that?

Haydens owned his ...

no reason at all Jorge wont butt fook his ... big time

Its nothing to do with 'what I want from him', its merely a debate of how Rossi is going to handle not being top dog in a team for the first time in his GP career (in the premier class). And you are wrong, once he's signed Yamaha could do whatever they like with him within reason, look at Spies....when did Jorge's rear swingarm last break?

P.S. Boppppppppppppppppper

You forget....Rossi brings the sponsorship money with him to Yamaha, which they do not have with Ben Spies or Jorge Lorenzo at the moment.....so it is more than likely Rossi will be in a good position to get equal treatment as JLo....

JLo now has to win the 2012 title for Yamaha just to make double sure he doesnt get demoted back to number 2 rider for Yamaha in 2013.....

Money Talks...

Sorry, I was paraphrasing a quote from the Godfather.

Seriously though, I think that is what will happen. He will .... all over the nest again, push all the buttons he can push, use all the leverage he has and play every dirty trick in the book to reassert his dominance. No manufacturer is independent in the way they treat their rider when that rider is Valentino Rossi. Not while Ezpeleta runs the show and not as long as they care about public image. That's the reality of dealing with Rossi. Yamaha had everything lined up for a succesful few years but now they've let the poison in again that Lorenzo had just helped them to purge. It's going to be all the same old .... all over again...

It's only right and proper Rossi should return to yamaha as the #2 rider. If Rossi wants be be the #1 he will have to re-earn that status by finishing higher than Lorenzo. Lorenzo will finish higher than Rossi this year and more than likely champion, that should earn him the status of being #1.

why Rog it that was any other rider with those results in the last 2 yrs they wouldn't get a sniff in a million years of that seat

Rossi's had his time and chances that seat should be with a up and coming rider

and if he gets his ... kicked in most races what fools the whole lot of them will look

That's true but then why is Nicky still riding on a factory bike....?

It all comes down to politics (not conspiracies) and Money......MotoGP is a business first and sport second.....

Is Rossi's legacy tainted? Yes, but if he wins the title with Yamaha again or equals/beats Ago's race win record then no one will care if he deserved the Yamaha seat or not....

Who knows how he will go next year as number 2. Depends on whether or not he brings his whole crew back or gets stuck with some of Spies' mechanics. He may be better off at Ducati...

not a big thing that to me Theres 3 Fac teams in motogp the Duc has been the last of the 3 teams in performance results etc for a while

Rossi is getting it all handed to him on a a gold salver when hes done .... and on the verge of retirement

I totally agree.....but if other riders commanded the sponsorship, global recognition and pure huge fan base that Rossi does have then they might get the same treatment.....But right now, there is no one that can match him for it....

Once another rider wins a few more titles and is as likable as Rossi then maybe they will take Ross's crown and power......but the only candidates are really JLo and Casey.....

Rossi's only goal is to win more races than Ago....since he wont ever match number of titles......and once he gets the top of the list in that win stat then he will retire....and hand the 'power' over to someone else....like JLo or even Marquez.....but it more likely to be JLo....

Who gives a ....?

Oh yeah.........another thread to piss on Rossi, aren't there enough here already

WTF?? i said "It's only right and proper Rossi should return to yamaha as the #2 rider." yet you only highlight "It's only right and proper Rossi should return to yamaha" and give your above response ! Your response has absolutely .... all to do with the points i made in my post.. Sorry mate but thats the type of .... i would expect from BM.

Matt Birt says at this point, Rossi is not bringing any sponsors with him. Says he expects Yamaha will benefit eventually from signing Rossi, but at this point. there is no money following him to Yamaha

I think there's another person that wants to chime in.

AAP quotes Stoner as saying: "Jerry [said] that it would take him 80 seconds to fix that bike and that it was a simple issue and now they have had almost two years and have not made any inroads.

"Valentino obviously doesn't want to push limits and ride a bike that is not perfect, he has admitted that."

Stoner added: "I just feel completely sorry for Ducati that Valentino has gone there and done nothing but complain about the bike for almost two years.

Do you really think that is going to happen? Really?

I'm new to this site. It seems like a lot of Rossi bashing on here too. Geez. Give the guy a break he is trying to get back to being able to win just like ANY RIDER ON EARTH would do of given the opportunity. . I personally think he might want to actually be no2 this time. The underdog. Just being able to focus 100% on setup and racing instead of constantly developing and testing new stuff.
